The bed was worn out and the TV reception was poor
microwave wasn't great at cooking water for tea.
hot water really quick in showers
Musty smell when you open the door, the bed was a canoe, the TV wouldn't stay on unless you "tapped" it, no electrical outlet in the bathroom, the elevator jerked like a death trap, strip club across the street...
There was no hot water during our stay (1night), which made the stay quite bad.
Location is perfect, specially if you have a bike to ride to downtown. Staff was really nice, and the room was big enough.
Very thin walls and windows. Could hear everything neighbors were doing at 3/4 am!
Location and spaciousness of suite. Free parking!
Nothing comes to mind.
This is my "go to" lodging in Portland. The owners keep it up, painting, sweeping up around the parking area. The staff knows me now. And I like that!
It was very smelly and small! The area did not seem very safe ! The elevator was creaky !
Walking distance from brewery, couple other restaurants. Easy access to downtown Portland. Parking is free.
The elevator is original equipment and could use a complete service and regular maintenance. The one and only ice machine was not clean when we arrived. The outside of it was eventually cleaned but still made me question the service schedule for it and the cleanliness on the inside...
Friendly, helpful staff. The location with respect to where we needed to go and what we wanted to see in Portland was nice for the price. The room was clean.
Good value for the budget minded. Easy walk to convention center.
Nothing to complain about.
All positives! Location, value for the money, courteous and helpful staff, an older but well kept property. About a 10 minute walk to downtown Portland.
- noisy (just next to a club) - the shower
- parking - 15 minutes by walk to go to Downtown - the neighborhood - the "thai truck" just in front of the hotel - staff was very very nice and kind
across the street from a strip club
Easy check in
Bathrooms are a bit small. Tight squeeze between wall and bed by bathroom door
Friendly service and location
Horrible water pressure, toilets did not flush correctly nor did the tub drain after a shower. Not as clean as would expect but there was a strip club right across the street, so well....yeah.
Location to public transit.
There was a little street noise but not bad really.
Very clean, great staff, tough to find anything downtown for that money you would want to stay at.
This motel is a little long in the tooth, but does the trick. We have stayed here many times. Unfortunately the former karaoke bar in the parking lot is now a club, which creates a lot of noise, particularly on the weekends. Still a good cheap PDX stay, though.
Fantastic location on the east side, really friendly staff, good value for money.
Wifi too slow. But that's the only bad comment.
Very goog location, near the conference center (10min walk) and the city center (15min walk). Tramway going nearby. Nice brewery and restaurants in the area.
The staff from the front desk is just RUDE and offensive. I simply asked to close my account and he kept asking me to chill out. And whenever I tried to say to improve the dialog, he would respond with rudeness - really if I had to come back to this hotel and deal with him again, I wouldn`t. Another problem was that sometimes, during the night, I could hear people shouting on the hallways. In front of my room there was a very weird old lady that would show at the door every time I opened mine. And sometimes I could hear her having arguments with other people on the hallway - Summing up, the hotel is well located, but the people running the place are disastrous.
The hotel has good location. Relatively close to the convention center. It also has many restaurants and bars on its surroundings, what makes the visitor`s life easier. The cleaning staff were very nice, polite and helpful.
The walls are thin. I could hear the three guys talking outside my door. and the music from their room adjacent to mine. Although it appeared they had multiple Wi-Fi routers, I did not get good Wi-Fi in my room on the third floor in the middle the building.
The rooms were clean. The building looked aged but not in dis-repair. It is a decent stay for a decent value.
The location, in front of a strip club, I saw some dodgy characters going in. Motel style, anyone can come to your room from the street. Thin walls, my neighbour watched TV loud at night until 3am and then I could hear snoring through.
Friendly staff Clean and spacious room. The location, very close to the Burnside brewery. Wifi on all the rooms Far enough from the train to not to hear the loud train horn at night. The king size bed is huge The room was equipped with a desk. Very warm, for the artic front that passed last week.
No in room coffee pot. Old room heating. Found a tube of used ChapStick on the floor. For $90 dollars on a weeknight you should get a little more for your money. I've stayed in a lot better and got a lot more for my money.
Close to my work.
If you are looking for quiet, this is not exactly the place for you. There is a bar right next door and they play loud music into the wee hours.
We were close to almost everything we needed. The staff was very nice and the room was clean.
I was able to open the window, but found the street below pretty noisy overnight. Next time, I will use the air conditioner in the room just to mask the truck traffic noise. I loved the fresh air, though!
They have a refrigerator and microwave in the room, I was able to keep my bottled water cold and make popcorn later in the evening. The building is old, some of the painting is sloppily done, but it was clean and in working order. The free parking and Internet was great. The cable tv had more channels than most places I've stayed.
