Had to wait on the street for 45 minutes for someone to show up. Smoke detector was not functional. Heat in the apartment was unbearable, even when turned off. Advertised as two bathrooms, only had one.
Nice to share an apartment with another couple
Jitu picked us up from the airport and, after a short wait, Patrick met us at the apartment. Everyone was extra helpful with lots of useful tips.
THE AREA IS NOISY
THE STAFF IS HELPFUL ,COOPERATIVE AND FRIENDLY.METRO STATION IS NEAR,GROSSARIES AND SUPER MARKET ARE AVAILABLE
Communication very poor - had to keep chasing dor details, no replies to e-mails etc. Tried to get us to move during our stay due to double booking The apparent had micr
The kitchen facilities, stove, fridge, microwave, sink are there, but no vent, and no counter space (as in zero counter space). Very limited pans to work with, or oven dishes to use. Its possible to cook family meals, but you might need to summon your inner MacGyver. Toaster didnt work, had to put coffee pot on the floor since cord didnt reach when it was placed on the only table, and there wasnt any space in the kitchenette area, unless it was placed in the sink. Some people might not like four flights of narrow stairs, but it was fine for us. Some people might not like how warm and stuffy it is, and no control of the thermostat, but we just opened the doors/windows and turned the window AC units on (Thermostat set as low as it would go, Inside temps 80F+, March temps outside 30-40F).
The location was great, just north of Houston , off 2nd Ave. The subway access was a block away and made the rest of the city easily accessible. The apartment was comfortable, 2 bathrooms is great for a family with older kids (15,17). Whole foods grocery right around the corner, very convenient, lots of restaurant possibilities within walking distance.
Only the noise from traffic
It feels like home.
The first night it was unbearably hot because they had the boiler heat all the way up. We had to manually adjust the heat and even then the rooms were waaaay too hot. Also, they tried to overcharge by saying I had not paid, and then apologized but asked us to lie about the length of our stay if anyone asked, which was pretty odd.
The owner was very communicative and the staff was eager to help resolve any issues we had. The location was pretty good, close to Union Square and right around the corner from some pretty great food places! Very nice place for the money!
No paper products like paper towels. But not a big deal.
The facility owner was wonderful. So kind and friendly. The place was perfect for us girls. It had everything we needed for a weekend in NYC. Great location. Liked everything about it.
All except for the noise levels outside bedroom's 1 window
No soap, coffee, paper towels, toilet tissue.
Lots of room, very well maintained, great value.
slight smell of gas in apartment and hall...just a bit unsettling. Hot and cold water taps reversed so we thought we had no hot water...just a simple sign would have solved that. On site super was a bit surly. Booking was a hassle...said they couldn't process because they had no security number. Resubmitted, upon arrival was told that it never processed...oh wait, we don't take American Express...but now we do... come on team, this could be a perfect apartment ... clean this stuff up!
Location and cleanliness of property was great. Nicely equipped!
This is not really a 3 bedroom as advertised. It is very small. It's a tight 2 bedrooms with an open loft. Fine for one family traveling with children, but I can't imagine any more than that. The street noise in the front bedroom takes some getting used to (but it is NYC). Location makes up for any flaws, though.
The location is fantastic. There are countless phenomenal restaurants within a 2 block radius. Also, subway very convenient. Having a washer/dryer was a big help while traveling with children.
traffic noise as one of the bedrooms overlooked 3rd Avenue, despite its address;radiator hammer in the heating system
convenience, value, location, the togetherness it engendered, flexibilty, the home from home feeling,no problems with neigbours, taste of NYC apartment living.
location in basement, no views except of dirty courtyard and of pavement, mice digging into our food and running around the apartment, noise of heating system at unpredictable times during days and nights always for about 1 minute (according to rental office due to age of building), beds a bit big for size of rooms,
location on E 25th street, space, bathrooms, correct administration of reservation and payment, excellent wifi
-We had a 4 legged visitor that was very arrogant who helped himself to our bread when we were otherwise engaged.... like asleep. Everything thereafter was stored in the fridge. -Bed comfort was good but leg in middle of bed needed to be fixed to the bed properly.
-Chris & Jackie were very proactive and receptive to all our needs. -2 bathrooms for all our mob. -Big fridge plus washer & dryer -Wi fi -Locality. Close to store, pub, eateries.
Noise from upstairs neighbours' parties and TV volume Noise from street (no double glazing) Lack of mirrors (i.e. none) near plug sockets to dry hair!!
3 double super comfy beds 2 bathrooms between 4 of us Decent size TV Wifi (when it was activated) Security of apartment Flexibility to store luggage
Needs new bedding and a new sofa bed mattress.
We thought the location really good, not too central but with excellent transport links, it felt very safe. This was our first trip to New York so difficult to compare locations, our friends were in Lower East Side, which was a different environment. Make sure you know the arrangements for key collection as address is v confusing. My criticism is the place could do with new bedding, and a new sofa bed mattress.
There is no natural light at all, the windows look on to brick walls. The appt was very noisy from about 5 am onwards, when first the heating came on with huge clanking of pipes, followed by construction work in the appt above. It was also full of mice and the toilets kept getting blocked. Plus this is an illegal rental. The owner is not paying tax to NYC but still charges 15% tax. He asked us to lie about the length of the rental if the appt got raided.
The appartment was well located, near lots of shops and restaurants. The rooms were quite big for NYC and the beds were comfortable. Wifi worked well.
The acoustics in the apartment meant that you could hear people moving clearly in the apartments above
The wifi was excellent. The location was good, near the subway and good value. The kitchen was small but had everything you need
Very comfirtable and Nixe.
Noisy and landlord not easy to get hold of. Bedrooms need at least a bedside table and lamp.
There was enough room for six though sitting area had no windows. Beds were comfortable. Location good for subway and eating out.
I can't think of anything negative. We had a couple of issues, but nothing that would not occur in a hotel.
Staying in a New York apt. was a great experience. I don't think I could stay in a hotel again. It was nice to have a kitchen if we decided to stay in and cook, which we did one night. The space was plenty large enough for the two of us.
Liked the space, loved the location . Plenty of room for everyone .
The check in procedure is complicated. The office is located in another place than the accomodation and it is hard to arrange pick up of keys, takes expensive phone calls. Impossible to store luggage at office even though we were told it was possible. A lot of extra costs to taxis, phone calls etc. because of all this
Really nice apartment, although on 4th floor on no elevators. Great location
