The hotel we were moved to was the worse I had ever stayed in. fake eyelash on the bed, stains on the sheets, mold in the shower, advil on the floor, so it was obviously not vacuumed. we cancelled our second night and had to stay in the dalles.
We were overbooked and moved to one of the "sister" motels.
The queen bed was too soft to be comfortable for 2 people. Bedding came loose too easily and shifted a lot. the "breakfast" was old orange juice, good coffee and some english muffins, not quite enough. A bit noisy as it is directly on busy Columbia street and Martin Luther King.
Friendly staff, clean room, free parking, good wireless. We biked back and forth to downtown (about half an hour on cycling routes on Vancouver and Williams streets). NE Alberta st. is closer to the motel.
I found some hairs laying on the bathtub, I had to clean the bathtub to get rid of those hairs. I decided to wear sandals while taking a shower just for safety. other than that, plenty of clean towels, shampoo and soap.
The price, the double bed room was really comfy, no bed bugs, no too much noise, we got a microwave and the small fridge which was a plus!, we got a flat tv with cable. no bad for the price. 15 mins from PDX. McDonalds, Jack in the box, Bus stop and a Gas station next to the Hotel.
Guys bbq on patio outside room, towels were stained and dirty.
Asked desk clerk to move us to another room because it smelled so bad like mold...he did right away and that one did not smell...
A little noisy at night.
The room is cleaner than I thought, the room was nice!
refrigerator didn't work. Lights didn't work. Remote didn't work. Noise was bad. Street and people outside.
The room was small and cramped. The lighting was poor in the rooms. The TV did not have a good selection of channels and it was an old model TV. The breakfast had a very limited selection. The location was a little iffy. Air conditioning was okay
The rooms are not that costly. WiFi is good
waiting to check in at 3pm and out at 11am is bs. and when i get there at 330pm to check it this guy with gold teeth baggy jeans was just sitting around talkin to his friend/family on the phone for about 25mins after looking over at me a few times and still made me stand around waiting while hes still talking on the phone ignoring me and making plans with his friend for the weekend.. Pure proof that its not about what you know its about who you know because i dont think this guy has even worked a customer service job ever.
only good thing is you can walk to fast food places.
No coffee maker, no blow dryer, rooms stunk of pot, so did the outside corridors, beds are overly firm, pillows lumpy... we wanted a cheap escape for our anniversary, well we certainly got cheap. The front desk was apathetic, clearly didn't want to be there. Rooms were beyond questionable, found a soiled rag on the shelf. No amenities, other people staying were loud, pot lingered over the whole place, pot and cheap perfume. Neighborhood is beyond sketchy.
One desk clerk was personable, the other was cold, annoyed, and evasive. There was a snag with my visa card and he insisted I had to "see the manager." Forgetting the issue, he took care of it himself the next morning.
Very cheap price.
Shower curtain had mold in the corners they had the fridge unplugged so water was all over on the the carpet near it that morning front desk was kinda rude he was on the phone so I had to wait
The bed was soft n it was across from McDonald for my son
The breakfast was too meagre. I went for breakfast at 7 (probably the 1st group to go for breakfast) and there were only like 7 bagels n a few bread slices n jams. I would think that the day after Thanksgiving is a big day with many people visiting out of town, and the breakfast would not have covered even 3 people let alone everyone in the hotel. Also did not give me a toothpaste.
The staff was friendly. Bed was a rock. It wasn't super clean, but I didn't get bed bugs.
While the TV was nice (~30" LG HD), the satellite reception was horrible, especially for our preferred local channel for watching the evening news. It was never not fuzzy. There also wasn't a channel guide, so we never knew which channels were available. We had a non-smoking room, but clearly that must change depending on availability because there was the faint smell of cigarettes, especially in the bathroom. The bed was very uncomfortable. It was like a block of wood with a thin layer of foam over night covered by sheets. The "free" breakfast...they really shouldn't advertise that. It consisted of a pot of coffee-colored hot water (it was really bad), orange juice from concentrate, packages of chocolate or powdered donuts, and English muffins.
We had to vacate our home for an emergency bathroom fix by our landlord. Because it was short notice, there weren't many non-crazy expensive hotel options available. We did like that the hotel was not far from home. The staff was friendly. We were just happy to be in a place with working plumbing and heating, to be honest. It was also nice to have Wi-Fi in the room that was password-protected. But, be sure to ask for the password because it's not provided anywhere in the room or mentioned when checking in. If staying with friends/family isn't an option and you don't want to spend a small fortune on a last-minute option, this would work. But, we wouldn't recommend staying for more than one night.
Room was filthy... Hair, dirt and funk everywhere. Did not sleep, as bed was a rock. Also fearful of bugs.
Location to expo center
there was a huge bug in my room looked like a big brown and flatten roach.
the prices was good, the location was perfect.
How the staff member was able to manipulate the rooms so we could enjoy a ground floor.
i stayed one night, i asked abut a weekly rate and was given the best rate in town 280 for 7 days.
could hear the guy next door snoring pretty good
price and location
Cleanliness might not be up to some's standards.
My expectations for the Econo Lodge Expo Centre were not high, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. While it's no Shangri La, you can tell the staff are putting in an effort to make it a pleasant lodging experience. We dealt with a hotel clerk named James and he was super-helpful and polite. He brought us fresh towels and gave us directions/suggestions to nearby places to eat and drink. It's mostly families staying here and I didn't experience any disturbances at night. All in all, not a bad spot to tuck away for the night if you're on a budget.
I called (around 10pm) and was told, I couldn't take public transportation from Airport to hotel and " to take a cab it will only cost you 10-15 dollars", this what I was told by the night shift employee........more like 28.00!! He gave me the room on the 3rd floor and I asked for something on the ground floor but because the room was "prepaid" I could not choose.....really? I had to to carry my luggage up 3 flights of wooden stairs of which I tripped on the 2nd floor landing and a large man came out of his room ready to defend his bike in front of his room. One more item, I was offered help, after I was out the door and asked for the location of the elevator.......What? No elevator!!
I liked the day shift employee, I think his name was Shelby? Older gentleman that knew so much about Portland attractions and was knowledgeable about the history as well.
If you're looking for budget lodging, this will be a good choice. Clean room, clean toilet to cover your basic needs for a stopover.
1.At our check-in the hotel didn't founded my booking.com reservation. 2.The bed is made by wood pallets and dirty and nasty bed linen. 3.Housekeeping started at 4 p.m. not mid morning :/ 4. Breakfast was coffee, juice and packages cakes 5. The position is also bad- truck route and loud traffic noise. ....don't STAY HERE if you have child or you'd like to stay near the downton or just stay in a safe place without noisy traffic and people.
Facility is very tried and needs some major uplifting; the carpets are dirty, plenty of trim missing in teh rooms, shoddy points everywhere - like a electrical outlet cover missing (dangerous too!) behind the head of the mattress. light switches are in really awkward places for functionality; breakfast is really poor (not expecting huge but better than what was offered for sure). I'd put this room at a $40 value max as it stands. Good luck with improvements.
Rashad was helpful; good cross street location - though getting into traffic was tricky - some advice from the front desk would be good to offer; wifi signal strong. fan helpful for drowning out street/occupant noise.
