Economy Motel Inn and Suites Somers Point  

I liked it was near the bay and only 3 miles from ocean city nj.

My non smoking room smelled awful. Like cigarettes. My comforter had cigarette burns in it. The floor was completely rippled and stained. The furniture had no hardware. A tv remote was not supplied. The tub would not drain and they would not refresh my linnens.

IF YOU"VE NEVER BELIEVED ANY OF THESE REVIEWS BEFORE - PLEASE READ & BELIEVE THIS ONE>>> Front Desk rep tried at check-into explan to us that our reservation was void because another guest decided to extend their stay. Then said they had a smoking room to show & would spray it to cover up the smell - We have smoke allergies! We saw a woman standing inside her open motel room smoking & blowing smoke out the door -the sign above her room # quite clearly stated - Non-smoking room. The room we were given was formerly a smoking room - the place reeked of freshener there were burn marks in the couch, rug,mattresses, furniture. We were told not to use one of the rooms -we found out it was because th heat was on & no way to turn it off-weather was 65-70 while we were there. The shower was a joke - trickles at best (hot water no problem). The towels are wafer thin (but clean). Breakfast was a bigger joke - white toast & cold cereal - coffee was gross. Speaking of coffee - the ads, the sign in the lobby & the bill all state coffee makers in room - there wasn't one so we requested one - sorry you can't have one -there are none given to the rooms ??! We checked for bed bugs - thank goodness none found nor any evidence of any ever having been there -whew! So why did we stay one night (we booked two)? We were waiting for a friend, who came in late & weren't up to moving - oh yes and after the gal that checked us into the "Presidential Suite"! she turned & asked if we could move the next day to accomodate a larger party (she gave us a 3 bed unit - one of which was in the kitchen - really!). So after one night & no sleep, we went to our function came back to the room packed & then stopped into the managers office. He asked why we didn't tell anyone about our troubles we politely answered we did, to the gal that checked us in and she did nothing.

We got upgraded to a suite

They charged me twice and didn't want to give me back the money There were only 2 people speaking and understanding proper English

They expected us to make our own bed and the room was so filthy we didn't even stay there. we will never stay there again!

The motel is old and not well maintained; the room smelled like cigarettes and deodorizer. Breakfast was coffee, and a selection of whilte toast or cold cereal. The billing was not done correctly - we were charged for extra occupants which was not reflected in the online price. Also, we booked a suite but were given a smaller room. Our money was not refunded for the suite as we were told we would have been given the suite if we had complianed. We checked our early as we felt cheated - you should not have to complain to get what you pay for. Since we checked out early, the motel would not refund the money for the night we did not stay, as the motel had a 48 hour cancellation policy. We stayed during the off-season and the motel was not full, so I don't think it was fair for them to not refund our money.

I reserved a room because we lost everything in hurricane Sandy. When I arrived, the owner was wonderful and have me a much larger room for almost the same price as the smaller room. I am so grateful. I have 2 boys, 8yrs and 10yrs., and the extra space is a lifesaver.

Nothing....roof leaked and the response I got was to give me extra buckets to catch the drips and to duck tape the leak which was a stupid gesture. Owner and son spoke to each other in native tongue and not English while trying to tape leak and I felt very uncomfortable with this. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone and if I could get my money back, I would.

The price! Very affordable. Rooms were clean and overall was a fine experience.

Didn't like that they advertised breakfast when the breakfast was very poor. Needed a fuller breakfast. I found the staff to be somewhat unfriendly.

The king size bed

I was told it was a suite. I found out later that there is only a few rooms. There was no bars in the bathroom. You open the doors you hit the furniture. The cable system did not have any sport on it. The bathroom did not have a mat for the floor. It was paper.

The bed was comfortable.

1. Paper bath mats. 2. No electrical outlets near a mirror for using the hair dyer. 3. Website said that the rooms had hair dryers, but you had to walk to the front desk and ask for one. 4. You had to bring your ice bucket to the front desk and ask for ice. 5. A continental breakfast was offered, but it was served in the lobby and there was no seating. 6. There was a live spider in the sink. 7. There was some flying insect that showered with me. 8. The sink backed up when you ran the water. 9. The room smelled musty. 10. The bathroom was so small that you had to rest your arm on the toilet paper dispenser while you sat on the toilet. 11. The bathroom fan came on when the light was turned on, however, it created a draft which caused the shower curtain liner to blow in on you when you were showering. 12. The wall unit air conditioner was directly above the bed so it blew directly on us while sleeping.

The location, it was very close to the places I wanted to go.

The room had no closet and there were spiders in the bathroom. The furniture was very ragged and the walls were dark. I thought I had checked into a prostitution place and moved out the next day, even though I had paid in advance.

No, the hotel was outdated,very funny,horrible smell when you entered the room, the carpet was descasting,it'S need a good clean.

Staff was very friendly. 24 hour security on staff. Close to Ocean City. Complimentary breakfast.

Had a kitchenette, but no dishes, silverware, cups, pots & pans, etc.....at least there was a refrigerator

Traveling with a 9 year old grand daughter, we loved the pool and its proximity to our room

I liked the fact that the Motel was 5 minutes to Ocean City Beach/Boardwalk and 30 minutes to Wildwood. It is close to a 24 hour Diner. Room served its purpose for showering and sleeping after a long day at the beach and walking the boardwalk. Had a 1 bedroom king suite with 2 king beds. Beds were comfortable and sheets were clean. No sign of bed bugs and trust me, I checked for bugs of any kind each night as this was my first time at a Motel.

Room was dull looking. Bathroom sink had a slow drain. Breakfast consisted of cereal, bread for toast and coffee. Although we are not breakfast eaters, those that are and are travelling with children not much to select from.

Great location, Cheap price for the location. Room was better than average for a "motor" lodge. Clean large room, Firm comfortable bed. A little musty. Nice people. It's not the marriot but it is nice for what it is

Just the age of the hotel and the mustiness but neither made the experience unpleasant.

I booked a non-smoking room & it smelled awful! In fact, I had to use my inhaler both nights I stayed there. Also, the air conditioner hangs directly over the bed in the room. It was so miserable because it was too cold with it on, and too hot with it off! Who the hell hangs an air conditioner over the bed??? Beds were hard & bathroom dirty. Never again!

Friendly staff, close drive to beach, pool, can't hear neighbors, microwave, stove, fridge, room was half the price of others near the beach... we had a good experience and would probably go back.

There was nothing likeable about this place.

The place was disgustingly dirty and in disrepair. Cobwebs inside the lamp shades, spiders, raw peices of lumber holding up the sink, room furniture very old and banged up-falling apart, the front door so out of wack you had to bang your sholder against it to open it. The place was nasty. Definitly not a place you would allow your children or grandchildren to sleep.
