The rooms were big and clean.
The service staff was not friendly at all.
No where to sit in lobby
The beach staff were very good, a big thanks to Trye the beach manager!!!. Mike at the pool bar was very good as well
during peak season (xmas and NY) the hotel needs to increase waiting staff in both the pool and beach area. orders took more then 45min!!
The Epic is a throw-back of old glamour. The lobby is beautiful!!! Great beach and pool staff. My daughters and I had a great "stay-cation". Love Miami, loved the weekend!!!
Parking charge was more than the website cited. Restaurant prices a bit high, although the portions were generous.
Bed, view and locación
Valet parking service and the beach is like a public beach
- location - big rooms - Inhouse Starbucks - nice oecan view
- long waiting time to get a breakfast table - car parking quite expensive
Smelly construction in front of hotel.
I had to go twice to the concierge to ask for better housekeeping in my room.
Pools, gym and Starbucks
Dirty bathrooms and small dirty rooms
the location and facilities
the price is high
All pool areas are A disgrace chairs uncomfortable and a total refurbishment is needed
The breakfast is excellent
The spa and closeness to the beach.
I thought I got a good deal with Booking. But once I arrived, they added another 100+ in hidden taxes and fees (usd 21 for a deck chair and 2 towels per day!), which made this an expensive stay. The hotel also stank of rotten eggs when you entered the lobby. I was told its the sulfur they use for the water tank. But it was awful. The lobby was always loud like a night club - even though it was morning for breakfast. You couldnt hear yourself talk. We fled the hotel everyday, and never used the facility. THe beach was the only good thing about it, and the spa.
The staff is very friendly and was always nice & helpful. The lobby had a Starbucks which was the only place I would get food & drinks after the experiences I had with hotel food & beverage services. The Starbucks was a saving grace!
I did check in early at 2pm when check in was at 4pm. I didn't mind waiting, I knew I was early. The asked me to come back to the desk at 3pm to put my name on the waitlist for the first available room, which I did, and they look my number to call me when the room was ready. At 4:30, I called them to see if a room was available and no, not yet. I didn't get into my room until 5:30! That's ridiculous that I was there since 2pm waiting for a room. I had booked online and took the last available king sized bed. When I got to the room, it was two queens. I called to the front desk to ask if I could switch to a king and they told me there was non-available and that I could call again in the morning and see if there would be any available the next day. I was only there for 2 nights and the last thing I wanted to do was sit around and wait for another room on my vacation. I called for room service that night and was disgusted by what was brought to my room: a plate of frozen, over-cooked mahi mahi with a burnt lemon 1/2 on one plate and another plate of steamed broccoli with what I hope was remnants of pasts but looked like worms! At least the glass of wine I ordered was cold. But the kicker was, this room service, a small fillet of overcooked fish, wormy broccoli and a glass of wine? $65!!!! The meal wasn't worth $6. The next day I enjoyed the beach but passed on the $19 umbrella service ($19 for an umbrella?!). I stopped at the beach bar for lunch but passed on ordering a meal when it took 20 minutes for my drink to come. I came back to my room at 3:30 and it still had not been serviced so I called and requested maid service. 1.5 hours later a maid finally shows up and just makes the bed and replaces the towels. I was to check out the next day and the maids were bright and early at my door wanting to service the room and get me out.
very good location for family stay : located in good part of mid beach : quiet with clean private beach yet ~3-4 km distance from ocean drive =~5 min by taxi/7- 8 usd; relatively large hotel pool zone with 4 pools incl. thermal pools - we have always been able to find comfortable places in pol area / beach, large spacious rooms > 40 sq.m with big ocean view balconies (old legendary tower); really polite and amicable personnel; overall very good but on expensive side.
expensive and low value for money food at the pool restorant, if you want qalily room cleaning you are advised to leave tips, that's about all; sink in wc was not flowing / letting out water well,
Spacious room Huge terrace View Hotel quality
AC was not functioning for 2 days. The bathroom lacks a bit of privacy. The sit cushions from the terrace were removed.
The staff were excellent and couldnt do more to help especially Hannah, a joy to meet defo go back if in the US.
location service comfort beach
some works going on, hardly bothered, nothing really!
The check in staff was excellent. Bartender went out of her way to feed us as we had a late arrival and were starving!
The outdoor restaurant was supposed to be opened until 11:00PM however, they decided to close at 10:45. Late arrival, starving - not a good indication of level of service expected from ER. FILTHY room; old bandaid on robe, black hairballs on my floor
Location of hotel and excellent beach. Good restaurant. Excellent facilities and cleanliness.
Advertised parking available but realistically only valet parking which is expensive or public parking close by but you have keep going to renew ticket.
Generally a good stay
Breakfast was too expensive Extra charges for parking Renovation around pool area was disturbing
Staff was always helpful and attentive except for the concierge who didn't seem to know much.
For a luxury hotel there was a lot lacking - the TV channels didn't work and the shower know was broken and the pen didn't work - basics should always work!!
Parking fees !
The staff were friendly and nice. The view from the balcony is terrific.
The room configuration was odd and uncomfortable, the furniture on the balcony old, torn, and cheap, the toilet made noises all night. The hallways weren't air conditioned.
We were upgraded to the Ocean Towers, which was excellent. Don't think the experience would have been as positive in the hotel's standard tower. We thought the location was excellent. Guess it depends on how close you want to be to South Beach. For us, the Eden Roc location was very central and a nice distance away from the noise and craziness of South Beach.
Lot's of re-work construction going on, so kind of noisy during the day. But what property isn't going through some kind of construction on Miami Beach currently?? Need to make more bathrooms accessible from the pool areas. Currently, due to the construction, it is not easy. Also easier access to the Ocean Tower from the Beach or Pools would be nice.
