Very pleasant room with comfortable bed. Outstanding, extensive breakfast buffet with a large selection of items. Exceeded expectations. Definitely would stay again (second visit).
Nothing. Highlight of B & B's on this trip.
The room was nice, clean and comfortable. Kris the woman who runs the Inn, and her husband Robert were knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast was absolutely delightful good company good food.
Check in time is at three. You can come by earlier to get a map of the city and some ideas of things to do. But the rooms aren't ready until three which is a somewhat late check in time
The location was super in the little town of Lopez. Everything is within easy walking distance. The wife knew all the good places to visit while exploring the island and marked a map for us even though she said she was "Very Busy". The beds were some of the best I have ever encountered in my travels. A nice selection of food set out in an attractive display for breakfast. There were bikes to use which was a nice touch for those who wanted to explore that way. Lopez is very flat so it is a good island to bike.
The owner seemed somewhat nervous and unsure at our check in. It made us feel a bit unwelcome, even though we had booked reservations. She was quite open about telling folks to be careful where they set their silverware, leaning back in the dining chairs, and that surfaces needed to be protected at all times, too fussy for an innkeeper! Hubby was very closed mouthed. He may have answered 1 question the whole time we were there. Never smiled! Cool to say the least! No HOT food for breakfast . It seemed that the Husband and wife did not communicate well. They seem to be the wrong kind of folks to own a B&B! Maybe they were just having a BAD week?!( All of my travel companions got the same feeling). Coffee was supposed to be out for guests at 8 AM but when I inquired at about 8:10AM , she said it wasn't ready.
Very quaint and comfortable
Owners were an older couple, nice enough for sure but had soooo many rules and signs abt what you couldn't do. even at breakfast-what plate, cup, fork - don't touch this or that. Didn't care for that at all!
Charming country inn, decorated in an eclectic fashion. Central location in Lopez Island, easy walk to restaurants, etc. Sumptuous, European-style continental breakfast. Run by a very nice couple.
Location, staff, decor, attention to detail, grounds, parking. Breakfasts were exceptionally good, bread was wonderful, good coffee.
Nothing not to like. It was all good.
Our hosts at the Inn went above and beyond to take care of our every need, particularly for transportation. We'll surely come again. It ALL was lovely.
1. being watched constantly! 2. being told what to do and how to do it! 3. outdated, old amenities 4. small fridge for 4 rooms. 5. musty odor in room, old carpets, furniture, drapes etc. 6. free bikes, but bikes were actually broken, flat tires!
No TV a or WiFi
We liked the location and we thought that the home was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The woman is a great cook and had provided us with such great details on where to go on the island!
I did not like that the internet did not work on the second day/evening that we were there. I teach online classes and was not able to answer emails. I especially did not like how the woman/cook dominated the conversations at the breakfast tables and corrected the way that we used our plates and silverware. I would have preferred to have friendly reminders in the form on notes near the food and on the tables on how we are to use our plates and silverware with a buffet.
Within walking distance of all the restaurants and shops in quaint Lopez village, quiet, comfortable inn. Delicious breakfasts. Our hosts were very helpful with recommendations, dinner reservations, etc.
I can't think of any negatives. I didn't like leaving!
