Spa tub View
older more homey feel, comfortable.
detailed cleaning would be good, very noticeable smell in room when we arrived. This should have been noticed by staff before our arrival. We will stay again, but it would be nice to have these things addressed.
The view was awesome! And, if you like a motel that hasn't been updated, this is the place for you. It had the bare minimums but could use some furniture updates. The gas fireplace was a nice addition.
Lack of updates. Could add more of a continental breakfast....bananas and coffee?
We enjoyed the view of the coast,tv,fireplace and just relaxing to the sound of the ocean.
No bad experience, great weekend
The room had a bad odor, the sliding glass door did not lock (had a stick), the refrig was a joke and did not work, the faucet constantly dripped, the person in the office went over how to use the remote for the tv and I was directed to only use 3 buttons but it still didn't work and by then I was so frustrated l decided not to deal with. Worst of all, while looking for a plug-in for my charger I had to pull out a chair and there laid a condom pkg. Not a good visit and cost too much. Would never recommend to anyone.
upon arriving we were shocked at how old and wornout every building looked. we went to our "suite" and the door would barely open. The room looked absolutely nothing like it did online. The room smelled horrible like mold. The bathroom was gross. We noticed a large dried white stain onthe bathroom wall. It was new years eve so we decided to just go out and deal with it later. We arrived back and decided to make the best of it and throw down one of our blankets to sleep on. With in minutes we started itching and discovered we had small red bite marks on our ankles. Probably bed bugs. We immediately went to return our key and of course no one was avaliable. We shoved the key in the slot and drove home...a 2.5 hour drive. I wish i had know this pkace was a dump. I WASTED 120 bucks and a very exhausted drive home. Not to mention having to strip down outside my house upon arriving home to prevent bed bugs!!!!
Rude night manager, no place to put clothes for 4-day sat. Night mgr. demanded to know when I would arrive because he needed to sleep. Called to say we would be a late check-in. Day manager Nancy was wonderful!
The closeness to the beach and the room was nice not out dated. We would stay again for sure. I liked the shuttle to the casino.
The price was really high and the parking lot is really tight. But over all a fair place to stay.
Great price for an ocean view suite with a kitchen and fireplace.
Could use some work, the building has obviously been added on to and it seems like they just stopped most of the way through the job.
Being with my wife and the gas fireplace. Watching the ocean and the storm.
The gas fireplace going out because of the storm. The shower didn't have any pressure. Somebody smoked outside of our room (even though it is a nonsmoking hotel) and the smoke came in our room even though the door was closed.
View from deck accessibility to parking
There were exposed wires - in the family room! right next to the bed. we have a 2yr old and in 8 month old who was crawling around, when we brought it to the attention of the lady as we checked out she literally just said 'well just write a review' WOW way to take care of it! Also the room was very cold and it was difficult to figure out how to get the electric stove thing to work
I did love the view
the bed was awful the kitchen was ill equipped no sugar/salt/pepper/coffee/tea very old bathroom
The help was very nice and good to help by getting us some decent pillows and replacing burned out light bulbs. Parking was unusual and hilly, but since there were few cars it wasn't a problem.
The whole motel was barely booked and we were given a room on the basement level and our ocean view was between shore pines unless we ventured on to the miniscule balcony. We went to other motels in the area for prices and looked at other accommodations and found many at the same price to be much nicer and most served at least a continental breakfast. We had two very thin pillows in our room and had to ask for others. There was a very small space to place toiletries and you had to move the coffee maker to reach a plug in! The bathroom was so small you had to open the door and step around the toilet to close the door. This is not a place we would stay again.
Where to start! First off the hotel the Edge Cliff motel that brags about being on a 100 foot cliff with great views, there is no cliff! They are really on a dune one road back from the beach behind a row of houses! LIERS!(it was dark when we checked in) Now as to the room. Old broke down bed they tried to hide with a padded cover, no fitted sheets (we where sleeping on the pad by the end of the night) we got the hot tub suite (best they had) tub was broken and ran out of hot water with tub half full! There where dog turds under the bed! The guy at the desk was rude hardly spoke english. Asked me how our stay was, when I told him is was horrible he got more defensive and more rude. I didnt even ask for money back! I as so mad we just left! We will never go there again ever!
The location. Room was fairly clean.
Didn't get promised ocean view, did upgrade that was not recognized. Things not working 1st room, second room only partial view from balcony. Bed hard.
Loved it all, the view, nice people, comfortable bed, spa tub, just a great place.
Decor needs a touch of updating is all
The view was not to bad. Layout was pretty much what one would expect. Access from the parked car was good. Parking lot was well lite. Access to the beach was a walk but not bad considering how high above the ocean we were. The view of the ocean limited as the room had indicated.
The whirlpool was not so good. Filled the tub and turned on the whirlpool and with in a few minutes there were soap scum bubbles floating on top the water. Then a hair ball showed up. I will probably never use a whirlpool in any establishment again. When I entered the office a horrid odor hit me right in the face. I think it was a cultural type odor from food or something of that nature.
climbing the stairs
We use to go to the Ester Lee right next door. But their prices have more than doubled in the last few years and have NOT updated any of their rooms. The Edgecliff was more affordable and the room was much cleaner and smelled better. And newer cleaner carpet. We will be back to Edgecliff good bye Ester Les
No food - only coffee except on the last day, a Monday they had bananas! Seems the week-end there should of been the rolls as in past. Pop and juice for a charge.
Access to the beach.
Uncomfortable bed. Can hear neighbors. Pictures show whirlpool tub in room, actually is in bathroom.
The view was great. The room was clean, fireplace worked very well, a wonderful addition to our stay.
Beds were a little too hard for liking. Better too hard than TOO soft.
The man that checked us in was very rude, he scolded me for making my reservation through Booking.com and not directly through them. I advised him that if it was not for booking.com that I would have never booked with them anyways.
Ocean view from Jacuzzi Loud ocean sound Comfortable bed Handicap compliant, large bathroom with support structure.
Room is a little old and could use some repair. Not enough electrical outlets. Had to put coffee maker in bathroom on tub side to reach plug
