Edith Palmer's County Inn was really really quiet and a great place to stay. It was really convenient to our visit to Virginia City. The room was very clean and comfortable.
The water pressure in the shower was faulty, needs to be fixed--hot water was not consistent.
It is different from the run of chain hotels, and that can be refreshing, from time to time. After a very good breakfast we had a lovely chat with our host who was most interesting and informative about Virginia City .
Well you just have to accept, in these sort of specialist Inns, that you won't always get a hairdryer, a clock/alarm, a coffee maker and a modern TV. The balance is there for you, the customer, to choose
A variety of very nice rooms with nice cozy furnishings. Nice location with in Virginia city. Quiet street. Our room had a great view of the valley. We would definitely stay here again!
The air conditioner was as old as the west and did not work.
location was perfect, breakfast was very good, not to compare with what you normally get in the USA. The lodging is in line with the atmosphere of the old town.
Virginia City has a fascinating history, previously unknown to us. Edith Palmer's Country Inn was an excellent choice for our brief stay in Virginia City. The town is heavily touristy but Edith Palmer's B and B was a couple blocks away from the tacky stuff, and it was quiet, scenic, comfortable, and very friendly. The on-premises restaurant ("The Cider Factory"), where we had dinner, was a jewel and a complete surprise. Waking at 7 on a perfect summer morning and walking around the town was great. Altogether a lovely experience.
Nothing not to like!
Did not Get the room I booked in photo on booking web site.
The inn was the right setting for the western town of Virginia City. We took the one bedroom kitchenette which worked out perfect for us. We have two boys that slept out in the living room and the kitchen was a godsend for all our chili cook-off dishes.
The water pressure and flow of hot water to the shower left a lot to be desired.
the staff are the greatest, they really make that experience
the steep hill you have to walk up coming back from the main strip
The room was clean and decorated very nicely. The bathroom was excellent. The location was perfect, the breakfast was fantastic. The porch area was very nice but needed so attention.
The bed was terrible, it was so bad we could not sleep! Toss, turn, roll together into the center, each move by the other party was a nightmare. The TV could be upgraded, no in room coffe and no coffee available in the parlor.
owner was wonderful and told us history of the place and area--felt like stepping back in time
There's a nice courtyard
Room felt cramped, and was not what was advertised, And really not worth the price.
The family owned and run Inn has the charm of the mid 1800's set in the history rich Comstock Load region of Virginia city. The staff was very accommodating. The breakfast's that came with the room were a delight.
Edith Palmer's Country Inn was a fabulous place to stay! The owner was courteous and kind, the room we stayed in excellent! We would definitely recommend this B&B!
Room was so nice and clean&quiet. We even sleep with the window open. Perfect Place! Breakfast was really good also.
No coffee Pot in room.
My room was switched from a queen suite to a double bed no separate bedroom the owner told me she had a family needing that room since there were only two of us she switched us. I had to sleep next to a man I am not involved with. Booked separate beds and he would have been in a different room on a sleeper couch. owner lied to Booking saying it was an error. Owner told me why she switched us.
The Owner Leisa took wonderful care of us to make my wife's birthday a very special stay. She personally prepared a wonderful breakfast and accommodated special dietary requirements! Would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to everyone! Love this place!!!
Well done restoration(s) of old west buildings and grounds. Good access to Virginia City w/o being on the main drag. Good folks with an interest in real Nevada history.
Could use a dormer above the door in the room to help with cross ventilation at night.
Leisa was an absolute pleasure to visit with. The Inn was quiet and comfortable. The restaurant "Core" was phenomenal and breakfast was awesome
No ice maker or fridge in room
