El Castell Motel    

Breakfast and pool was awesome.

Carpet was extremely dirty. We couldn't walk on the carpet. If we walk to the restroom with our bare feet they'd get black of dirt. I was concern about my kids cause they love to sit and play on it. It was very gross. It was room 206.

I showed at midnight as I was traveling from san Francisco. The clerk took a few minutes to get out and attend to me. But the roo, price cleanliness helped me forgive him.

I did show up on cinco de mayo and I could hear loud music. I worried it would keep me awake but all was quiet in my room

Very clean, comfortable hotel! Professional, courteous staff! Excellent value for money! I recommend!

even tho upon check in the room was described as non smoking, it smelled as if someone had been doing just that , non stop, for days...

Staff really friendly! Room spacious, clean and well furnished! Breakfast was included and there were a large variety of food and beverages! I would raccomend this motel.

This is an older style motel on the Fremont strip, with comfortable rooms, flat screen TV’s with a large selection of channels including HBO & Showtime, newly remodeled bath rooms and a very friendly staff. Plus the motel has a pool with an nice covered enclosure which is great since the temperature in Monterey area can get a little cold in the evening. The motel it also close to a number of restaurants and stores along the Fremont strip.

They have a couple waffle makers in the breakfast area. That was nice.

The fact that they accomadated my need to be on the main floor...friendly, helpful front desk person..A.J. the continental breakfast, except that the space for the breakfast was REALLY small.

REALLY small space for the continental breakfast, so many people, so little space. I had to stand by the trash can and use the top of it as my table. There was no coffee maker/coffe in the room, however there was a frig and microwave. the bathtub/shower had such a small "rug/mat", it was very difficult to even make it work properly.

Very clean room and good service and good breakfast too.

Location and price were good

Window was left open and we were unaware of it until the morning. Drapes were in horrible condition and beds were lousy.

Everything was good. Room had refrigerator and microwave.

The room was updated. The bathrooms were modern and super clean. We booked a junior suite and it was large enough for my family.

The pool was not heated enough.

Great place to stay! We loved the indoor pool, and the continental breakfast was way better than expected. Waffle makers were the hit! Rooms were nice and clean. If you don't feel the need to overspend for a ritzy hotel, stay here.

The downstairs was noisy due to little or no soundproofing between floors, breakfast was just ok, prices are too high, sleep sofa mattress horrid

room next door had a flood that came through wall & ruined shoes & jackets & sweaters in our closet.

A very basic hotel, but very clean and good size rooms. Good size breakfast room, for the price, that allowed us to have breakfast together as family before starting our day.

Still a 10min drive to tourist attractions in the area.

Excellent ratio cost-benefit. For a reasonable price you stay in a super clean and comfortable bedroom that appears to be recently renovated. Also, you have parking, Wi-fi and a simple breakfast included. Best 2 stars ever.

For check-in, at 11 pm, front desk staff was not friendly.

Location in Monterey, and the fact they had an on-site laundry.

The staff was friendly, the breakfast OK, and the room clean, but short on blankets.

Their "indoor heated pool," my primary reason for chosing the hotel, is a sham. The pool is maybe "heated" to 65F and the building it is in only has 3 sides so it was very cold in there. The water was cold and the room was cold which made it much too cold for me to swim. And, there is an adult bookstore and movie threatre practically next door which makes the neighborhood a bit iffy for walking around with children.
