had to find parking on street, but not a big deal.
when called for late arrival, staff was accommodating. .
Very old poorly renovated rooms. Noise level die the restaurant was very disturbing
Location was good. Rooms had a kitchen
The hotel doesn't have its own parking so you will have to find a spot on the street. We were always able to find a spot within a block or two. There is a restaurant in the courtyard of the facility and shops on the first level. It is noisy. It didn't bother us but we are likely more tolerant of noise than the average person.
My family enjoyed the proximity to the beautiful Coronado beach as well as many shopping and dining options. The hotel has a charming, historic feel.
Parking on the streets was a daily challenge, we didn't have pots or pans in our room, and had to ask for them. And neither did we have paper towels or napkins. That attention to detail, or lack of by the staff, was a downer. Oh, living room chairs quite uncomfortable.
Location was great, right across the street from Hotel del Coronado and the beach. And the kitchenette was nice to have because it helped cut down on dining costs.
location was key for our meeting, staff was helpful and courteous at all times, on site restaurant was so convenient and good food!
No parking was a really big inconvenience, have never stayed at a hotel that had absolutely no parking at all. People were very friendly surrounding the hotel and gave me great advice to park in neiborhood behind hotel so worked out ok in the end.
We didn't love the restaurant Miguel's, but we seemed to be the only people who didn't, place was packed for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was typical continental, we choose to eat elsewhere.
We had the best experience. Location was fantastic, staff amazing and hotel was unique and quirky, which we loved. We had a 1-bedroom suite with pullout sofa. Kitchen had everything we needed. The architecture and quirky alleyways were my favorite. We had windows on both Orange Ave side and directly above Miguel's and never felt it was too loud. Overall, we rate our trip a 10. The hotel and city were amazing!
I booked the hotel 2 months prior to our stay With booking.com. I paid in full in advance with hotel. 2 hours prior to check in hotel called and told us they over booked and we lost our room. They put us up at Best Western. Big bummer! Hotel did refund our night stay, which was nice. It is very inconvenient to stay in 2 different places over 2 days. We booked with El Cordova for the location to the beach. 1 block. Instead Best Western was 1 mile from beach. We arrived at El Cordova and found our room with a view through filthy windows of the dingy rooftop. I then asked for a room with a view and got a very Beautiful suite with a nice view. It all worked out in the end but put a damper on our sunny escape from the poor weather back home. Getting an upgrade without asking is great customer service and would have been appreciated.
I liked everything.
Great location, walking distance to beach, bars and restaurants. Very friendly staff. Older property but very well kept. Excellent mexican restaurant on site.
No fridge in Deluxe Room
El Cordova knows what they are and what they aren't. The hotel has great and simple So Cal character and doesn't try to be "resort-like". It is comfortable and cozy and Miguels restaurant is in great partnership.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room. A bit dated, but you really couldn't ask for more. A wonderful hotel experience.
Did not have one bad experience.
Our room was very large and looked over the outdoor patio and pool. Every morning there was a wonderful continental breakfast. Would go back in a heart beat.
Excellent Location, staff very friendly
The rooms really needed to be updated as far as the carpet and curtains, very 60 ish.
Loved the location , was perfect for where ever we wanted to go as we didnt rent a car. Very clean and Staff was very friendly and knowledgable.
I was upset that there was no designated parking. There was a lot of meter parking or you can park in the neighborhood. That area is too busy to try and look for parking especially after driving a couple of hours.
It was kept neat at all times. I like how the choice of restaurants downstairs, and if there was a wait they'll text you when your table is ready.
I arrived late 11:00pm which I had told them when booking. I originally booked two nights then changed to one night and I had my booking info with me. They said they were full. I will not attempt to stay here again!
A bit noisy with proximity to the restaurants
Great location, friendly atmosphere
Smelly room. Too much furniture polish maybe? Took quite a while to air it out.
Got put into a 2 bedroom suite which was really, really big. Dining room, lounge, 2 bedroom with ensuite.
If I had known the room was upstairs from the restaurant I would have requested a room on the other side - it seemed quieter.
The room was quaint and the staff very helpful. The prices was good.
The bed was not so comfortable, and the linen could be a bit upgraded. Parking is limited and metered, we did not have a car this time, but might have been an issue if we had. The location of our room was great, I would worry with some of the others, that would be a bit noisy during busy times.
Our suite was delightful. Nice furnishings, bright and cozy. The kitchen was efficient for light use and the bathroom well stocked with towels and roomy. The staff was friendly, informative and helpful when needed. Location was perfect for us.The shops and restaurant were nice to have so close!
I can't "read", or, understand the Asian symbols (Above) in the "Rate this property" Section.
No fan or window in the tiny bathroom. Only accessible electrical outlet. Early morning noise by staff in the courtyard areas.
Windows that open. Close to the beach. Friendly staff.
Wonderful, soulful Old Cali historic hotel in perfect location. I loved the beautiful flowers, the Spanish tile, the charming architecture, excellent creperie, immaculate grounds and cozy room. They put a lot of work and love into this place and it shows.
Great location, comfort and a very friendly staff.
