My husband and I love to visit Las Vegas and decided to take a chance on this hotel We are so glad we did! It is one block from Freemont Street, was clean and very budget friendly. We even used our coupon books for free drinks and gambling money. Give it a try!

Free funbook Only allowed one funbook a fortnight (14 days/2 weeks) Demanded a $40. deposit not in total for each day (7 days=$280!) Very little beverage service's offered to slot players (1x per 2 hours!) Their vintage rooms have leaking faucets = needing new "washers." Not much heat available in vintage rooms, but plenty in the "tower."

Paid 250.00 including taxes for 7 nights. They had to fix the Booking.com price at the end of the stay so make sure you keep all your reservation paperwork. The rooms are a little dated but fairly clean and no sign of bedbugs from close inspection of the room. All the staff were great and very friendly. Gambling limits on the tables were among the lowest downtown. Location is about a block from the freemont street experience. I would recomend this hotel for those looking for a inexpensive stay. Those who are looking for a swanker stay may want to consider the Golden Nugget. However I will probably stay here my next visit.

The hotel was better than expected! As soon as we drove up the valet opened our doors, the bellmen took our bags. We were checked in quick and escorted to our room which was very very nice! I have never seen a hotel room this clean in Vegas, and we have stayed in some big hotels on the strip...It was clean quiet and comfortable. There were also many good freebies the hotel was giving away, and who dosnt like the word "free"

After staying in a big 5* Hotel center strip the last time I visited Vegas I wanted to trie something different, after a tip and carefully checking out this site I booked El Cortez. It is really great value for money, friendly staff, 24 hour coffeeshop right downstairs with good food for an insane low price. The location of the Hotel was also above expectation with only a 5 minute walk to Fremont street where also the bus stop is which will take you to the strip or you can easily spend a whole day in that area. And yes, there where also some questionable figures walking around but I never felt unsafe. The security guards from the Hotel and the downtown area are doing a great job, even patrolling the Hotel floors. The Hotel dated back from 1941 and althoug it was renovated, it's still pretty old, so don't expect too much (except clean rooms of course) of it.If you are taking you're date on a romantic trip to Vegas or planning Honeymoon I would recommend staying at another Hotel.

Was very close to the Fremont St. Experience, and the express bus lines to get down to the main strip. Like the typical Vegas hotel, it was smoke filled, though the non- smoking rooms were a nice get away from that. It is old school Vegas, so don't expect it to be a five star suite with a view.

Good value for money. Location is great if wanting to be downtown and near the Fremont St. Experience. Fairly clean rooms. Fairly safe for a downtown location. I stayed in a "Vintage Room". There was one major problem. This particular location, Room 2204, and the rooms nearby, there is a horrible loud squealing screeching sound that occurs on a very inconsistent basis. The sound lasts for about 2 or 3 seconds, but man is it loud! Sometimes several times a minute. Sometimes not for several minutes. It's a major-league problem that the management refuses to acknowledge. Try sleeping there. It can not be done!!! I wrote a hand- written note to management that went ignored. I asked about it and a clerk said, "maybe something in the pipes"? Anyway, the problem is huge.

I stayed at the Cabana Suites and enjoyed my room very much. Very stylish with excellent quality furnishings. The room was on the small side but very comfortable and well furnished. Shower only (no tub) but very nice walking shower. Bed was very comfortable. Just like the picture on their website. Security was ever present and very nice. No pool.

The nice large fresh smelling rooms and Casino. I am the person that recommended that four of my friends stay there. Two of them received a voucher for two free nights. I received nothing. I come to Vegas on business many times a year. I thought the front desk should have given me something for the four reservations of two nights each.

For the last 15 years we only stay at the "Tez", that's what our grown children call it. We love to stay there. It is like coming home for us. All of our family member young and old love to stay at the El Cortez. If they can't get reservation there, they are going to visit and gamble.

The staff was very helpful and nice. The vintage rooms are exactly that, vintage, so if you stay in one of these rooms, don't be surprised that the layout, floors, walls, and windows etc are from the 1940's and have aged considerably. The furniture and hardware though are new but look retro, so that is plus. There is a coffee maker, excellent toiletries and good service (staff really tries hard to make your stay nice). The also have a free airport shuttle which is rare in Vegas.

It was very clean and all the staff real friendley. The food is great at a real reasonable price and the waitreses were very friendley and kept up with the small things as filling the glass of water before it went dry. I will recommend this place to everyone who comes to las vegas. It is a piece of history in las vegas. Nothing comes to mind

With a large group traveling together, the price is what brought us to El Cortez. We were not sure what to expect but our rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We asked for more blankets for the beds and had them within 5 minutes! The hotel was a short walk to Fremont street so we could easily go back to hotel for rest or supplies. We ate at the Cortez Cafe three times during our 3 day stay. Great food, excellent service, and just a nice, quiet atmosphere. It might not be the most elite hotel, but we will definitely stay at El Cortez Hotel & Casino again when we return to Las Vegas. Simply...great price, great service, great experience!

The hdx - Henderson bus goes straight to "sam's town hotel & casino" Can you believe that they demand a forty dollar deposit for each night, which for a seven night stay is $280. deposit??? Really? What a joke! No other hotel/casino in Las Vegas does it!

Reception was all smoked. The whole 1st floor is casino smoked all round. Besides this it was flawless. Great value for money if you can bear being in smoke for 15 minutes at check in. Price is unbelievable low. Very good room with luxury attributes.

This is our sixth stay at the El c, our third in the Cabana Suites. The place is still one of the best-kept secrets in Las Vegas. Without exception, the staff is the friendliest and most accommodating of any of our hotel experiences. Example: We pulled up in front of the Cabana Suites, and the security guard welcomed us back! We stayed there in May, and he recognized our personalized license plate from six months ago! Amazing.

Staff was really friendly and charming. It was really cheap, even the food in the Steakhouse was not very expensive. The room was spacious and had every thing we expected it to have. The hotel is not located at the strip but there is still a lot to do around. It looked a little bit old, but we thought it used to be a very elegant hotel and it's still not bad. Anyway for this price ($17) you can't say anything.

The El Cortez was just off Fremont enough to be quiet but close enough to walk. The staff are very helpful and the gambling is good :) They've gotta get a pool!

Location, occasional free wifi, coffee in the room and the slots were much looser than on the strip!! No swimming pool, but that was a very minor annoyance.

Very inexpensive and great location. Good value. Hotel staff were repeatedly rude and not helpful. Can't remember one person that seemed to enjoy their job or that had a helping attitude. Hard to imagine this being tolerated in LasVegas with all the competition available to consumer.
