My husband and I love to visit Las Vegas and decided to take a chance on this hotel We are so glad we did! It is one block from Freemont Street, was clean and very budget friendly. We even used our coupon books for free drinks and gambling money. Give it a try!

It was very clean and all the staff real friendley. The food is great at a real reasonable price and the waitreses were very friendley and kept up with the small things as filling the glass of water before it went dry. I will recommend this place to everyone who comes to las vegas. It is a piece of history in las vegas. Nothing comes to mind

I already stayed there many times previously, so I am use to this hotel, and so it was very comfortable for me. It is also where I have previously gambled, and prefer this casino. The parking is convenient also. Since the remodeling, the videopoker machines seem very "tight", much more so than before the remodeling about 5 years ago. I didn't have as much fun playing videopoker, therefore.

Lovely old-school hotel with excellent security, video poker (although very tight), and decent drinks (when you have a good waitress). Nice beauty salon on the second floor. The Player's Club is slovenly at best: unattentive staff, long lines, poor customer service.

The Cafe was reasonably priced and the food was delicious. The reservation set up. I made reservations through booking.com and the hotel had my reservation, however they did not have enough rooms. They overbooked!! Because they were overbooked, the staff was shuffling people and rooms around..not cool!!

The decor was very old and out dated. No amenities such as a pool or contintental breakfast. The pictures online are very deceiving and not true to the room we stayed in. The rooms need to be more sound proof because we heard all the guest making noise throughout the night/ through the early morning so we didn't get any sleep.

It is so close to the action in the downtown area and yet it is very quiet during the night until early morning when the cleaning staff were very loud when they talk. I commend the bell captain and colleague for their honesty. Inspite that I accidentally left my suitcase key on the lock, all my things were left untouched. The only negative about the hotel room is, the shower and bath. It is hard to control the flow of water which is incredibly high. There is such high wastage of water. Water also do not drain well from the plug hole. However, i would highly recommend the hotel to others Visiting the Fremont downtown area in Las Vegas. I don't like cigarette Smoke but smoking is allowed in the casinos in Nevada.

I loved the location in proximity to Fremont Street. I stayed in the rooms right above the casino and there was no noise at all. However, the beds were set quite high but were very comfortable.Staff at restaurants were wonderfully upbeat and attentive. I also liked that the casino was right downstairs. Well, like I said, the beds were quite high off the floor. Fine for me as I am physically fit for my age. However, I wonder how an 80 year old would get into this bed, as I am vertically challenged and had to give a good hop.

I have a hard time coming up what I liked about that filthy, loud, noisy Hotel. I hated it and would never ever stay there again. Bugsy is probably turning in his grave when he veiws what has happened to his place. It was filthy!! Old cigarette butts and old food under the skirt of the bed on the floor. It was loud and noisy. I stayed there 3 nights and got 6 hours sleep total all nights combined. I hated everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed my stay at the El Cortez! perfect location for hanging out at Fremont street but a little too far from the strip. but there was always a taxi available for us outside the hotel with the help from the staff. I would totally stay there again! didnt win any money in the casino : (

I like the downtown location and easy access to everything. The valet service is usually good. The price is very reasibable and the room is more than adequate. Low limits at table games are nice too. Some of the dealers don't speak English well or have any personality.
