There was little to recommend the motel. With the Concorse d'Elagance going on, it was the only room for more than 30 miles. At $289 for two nights, it was 750 cheaper than anything else. Generally you would not want to zpend more than $40 a night.
Where to start. The location is dead on the main road into town. The rooms are very small. And, there are no extras.(Bed, table, chair) The people were nice, but there was no way they could make up for the overall disaster of El Rancho
price refrigerator coffee maker microwave
Shower took a few minutes to get hot, but it did.
Small family run, called lose town moss Landing
At first we thought "were in the **** are we? This place is an older but up to date motel and it does sell out quick. It is off the beaten path and in the country, but it so close to the beach and 4 star activities and food. We had a great seafood dinner on the waterfront less than 5 min away then in the morning spent a few hours on the beach watching whales from the beach. Very quiet, can sleep well and be rested for all the local activities.
no microwave, but we did not ask for one.
The fella at the desk was nice
They charged me twice for my room.
I liked that it wasn't in town, It was clean, but I expected an updated version of a 40's motel. They need to update there sign and rooms to reflect that and that place would never have a vacancy.
There was a smell from the bathroom. It is just an old motel.
bad smell in the room, humidity, no wifi signal in the las room.
Room was very clean, had coffee maker and fridge. Recently renovated
Outside is a wreck, front yard grass completely dead, signage and picket fence in disrepair and falling apart, lobby dirty and a mess, receptionist was apathetic and dressed very poorly, overpriced for what you get.
El Rancho Motel is outside Watsonville. It's a bit remote from everything, so you must have transportation. The matress has a plastic sheet covering which is squeaky when turning over. The place is quiet and clean. The shower and water pressure are perfect. That's all that matters to me. I'm a low maintenance person. Watsonville has some of the best Mexican food around and you can lost in the strawberry fields.
The entire stay was horrible. The guest next door were smoking marijuana and cigarettes leaving my family and I to smell that all night long. I complained and the owner let me know that there was nothing he can do. The hotel was dirty and I did not feel safe. The room had two queen beds however, one of the beds were pushed up against a door leading to the back parking lot. There were some very shady people at night back there. I was traveling alone with 3 children. I would not recommend this motel to anyone.
Way out in the middle of no where. Nothing near by. Reminded me of the movie the Bates motel. My grown son and I were both leary of staying there. will not be staying there again
Great looking 40's motel court. Rooms sparce and tidy. Host was pleasant but apparently took advantage at leaving time. I know the other clients cudn't have paid that much.
We thought we had booked for $70 and at check out required $120. Makes you look bad. The wi-fi worked if you left the room and went 4 doors up.
I liked that there were no roaches.
Staffs attitude on phone and at desk and Smell of room.
ok for one night clean late check in
TV didn't work Uncomfortable bed The price
Quiet atmosphere Convenience Reasonable price
Manager friendly and attentive, good location, all amenities worked OK, inexpensive stop while on the road... Thanks!
A bit musty and mattress springs a little too friendly for my liking...
Very nice, clean budget motel.
Absolutely Nothing - dont stay here.
That it was an over-priced, run-down motel that resonanted with an intense odor of urine and had an overall shabby, unmaintained, uncleanly feel to it. From the motel sign to the lobby, you automatically know you are staying at the lowest class motel of all time. The manager has done nothing to keep the motel clean or habitabal. The actual room had water damaged walls and had a certain foul smell of piss. The sheets looked damaged, as did everything else in the room. There were two air fresheners placed behind the tv, but they did nothing to eliminate the forboding odor of urine. The horrible customer service and rude desk clerk tried to charge us more for the room. This motel is not worth your money or time - I repeat - do not stay here
The manager is very friendly. The room was clean, location to fishing is perfect. I could park my boat there. Manager let me keep my ice chest w/salmon in it in the office until I left the next day. I have stayed there many times.
There really is nothing I did not like about the motel, for what I use it for.
Quite clean. Easy accessible. Family run, nice people.
Shower was cold. There is not much around. It was the cheapest we could find, but still way too expensive at a 100, for what you get.
