I liked the location I liked the location but for my 5 night stay, I was grossly disappointed that there was no frig nor chest of drawers. It made life difficult. And the fact that I was charged $50 a day up front for incidentals and my credit card was held for the same thing, did not make me happy. These types of things impact a family budget. So no thanks for the heads up on that.

The breakfast is awfull. The place where breakfast is served is too small for the amounth of people staying in this hotel. Also the bathroom is not clean at all. I was there for my honeymoon and I was counting days to leave this hotel.

Rooms were small but very comfortable,I liked the fact that no one of the street could come up to the rooms without a key card,My girls went with thier dad to sf and someone broke into their room while they were sleeping.. We felt safe !! Loved the roof top terrace.. I would stay with you again. Not having a dresser or a fridge and the pop machine only had Coke in it.. I can't drink coke.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful (especially Veronica) and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The location was central to downtown but Ellis is not a very nice street/area. Lots of homeless people around. Didn't get any hassle though.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to any one wanting to stay in San Francisco and would certainly stay here again

The location was horrible. They say Ellis St. Just has alot of people who are without homes but it is much more then that. What they don't inform you is about the ghetto/hood that is just one block up. The breakfast you may read about is not a true breakfast at all, it's more like a breakfast snack that leaves you unhappy. The rooms were not clean and sheets were not changed out. The Cova is not a place to stay if you want something relaxing, clean, nice.

Very comfortable, good showers and toilets. Peaceful and quiet. Business friendly. Location of hotel near homeless shelters, poor wi-fi connection in the rooms. But otherwise everything else ok.

You get what you pay for - basic room with free wifi. The reates were quite reasonable and location handy to the city centre. The staff were all very friendly. The location is seriously bad. I would not have booked here if I had done more research. Tenrloin is a really bad area, full of crime and homeless people. It isnt safe at night for most people - I was okay as I am a big guy and can handle myself but I didnt feel safe a lot of the time, especially after dark. You get approached about 10 times when you walk into town from people wanting money. It is pretty draned bleak. The included breakfast was pretty poor too. Many mornings they ran out of coffee cups, cereal bowls, fruit, coffee...

Hotel itself was nice, with modern facilities. The location was not in a good part of downtown. Homeless shelter is located across the street from hotel, which made it unsafe to walk streets, especially at night. Walls are not thick. Can hear everything. Breakfast did not include hot items, except for waffle station which was not attended to, so many people left a mess due to improper use of griddle. My advice, get to breakfast early.

The friendly staff is the best thing the hotel has going for it. The location was awful. It is difficult to walk to downtown especially at night because of a safety concern. Secondly, the rooms have no thermostat control and it was very warm; only alternative is to open the sliders which makes it very noisy.

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They offered excellent suggestions for restaurants. The location is excellent with just a short walk from downtown. It is true what is mentioned in other reviews about the homeless, however, they are harmless and if you feel uncomfortable walking down Ellis Street, I suggest you take Hyde to Geary to get to Union Square. The hotel and room is tastefully decorated in Scandinavian style. The breakfast buffet was good with a decent variety of food. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The breakfast was excellent but poorly managed. It seemed that there were items like coffee cups, glasses and bread missing from the breakfast buffet at all times.

Free internet access really helped - enabled me to check my emails etc while away on business The location is not great - situated in Ellis street where there is at least one homeless shelter, so walking into the city was not a very pleasant experience. In fact, the hotel advised us to walk 2 blocks up and then along to Union Square - this was a 20 minute walk (walking quickly), and we still had to endure many homeless people approaching us for money etc.

Veronica and the staff were so awesome. I was a little afraid on the first day, but they treated us so great. Sharing all the secrets of where to walk , where to eat, and what to try. Loved it. A little scary neighborhood.

Our room was lovely, really large and well equipped for the price. Free Internet was good - wired slightly faster than Wifi on my laptop. Loved the breakfast, although you sometimes had to wait for the scrambled egg and bacon to arrive. The views from the breakfast room were great and the serving staff were sweet. The other hotel staff were also good, friendly but also knowledgeable about the area and the city in general. The area is a bit 'gritty' but we didn't feel unsafe and we have a 3 year old lad. The upside was a convenience store on every corner, an excellent barber for my lad to get his hair cut and you could walk to Union Square in 10 mins. We found the Americans we met were worried about the area but the other Europeans agreed it was a slice of the real city. We certainly felt safer than in a equivalebnt area of Barcelona, such as the Raval.

This was a very nice and friendly hotel. The staff was outstandind! Our room was roomy, very clean and the bed was wonderful. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning and all the food and service was outstanding, The staff was very attentive and did everything possible to make our stay with them a time to remember.I Would not hesitate to stay there again. I cannot think of anything that we were unhappy with,

The security I was kept up most of the night by my neighbors..it seemed like there were at least a half a dozen guys in there and felt like they were in the room with me. It was very loud.
