Cova Hotel    

The employees were wonderful, throughout the entire stay. We loved the breakfast buffet, and even got recommendations from Chef Greg as to where we should visit. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The location in the city is a bit rough. Hotel staff recommended a short and safe walking route to get to the main streets. I don't think that I'd walk around the outside of the hotel at night.

Shuttle service was good, terrace on top floor was good. Lovely clean rooms!

The room we stayed in was well appointed and very clean. I loved the quality and variety of breakfast options. We took advantage of the shuttles to Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf - the shuttles were on time both for dropping us off and picking us up. Most of all, I appreciated the manner of the staff, everyone we met or worked with was friendly and professional. I would definitely come back to the Cova.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like. The neighborhood is what it is, but I never felt unsafe in or around the Cova. I walked into Union Square several times during the day and took the shuttle or a cab in the evening with no problems.

Friendly. Good room service. Roof top breakfast. Complaint dealt with and room changed on request. Good value.

On first night we could not sleep due to some mechanical noise from Floor 8. Also there was scaffolding outside window entirely blocking view.

Beds and pillows very comfortable Good location central to main visitor attractions. Down and outs made the area dirty and scruffy but never hassled us and never felt unsafe.

Breakfast was not deluxe - limited choice and when busy a little sparse. Wasn't told there was scaffolding up outside my window and I wouldn't be able to open it. Those rooms should be discounted.

Parking was cheaper at $24/night than prevalent rate in sf. Free continental breakfast overlooking city is nice. Nice modern, clean rooms.

Neighborhood isn't ideal, but free shuttle option (which we did not have a chance to use) would address this. Space issues led to odd placement of things - no garbage can in room (moved one from bathroom); coffee maker wedged on bathroom counter, but coffee fixings all out in room on desk; no surface to put stuff on (toiletries, dry clothes) in barhroom (we moved small pedestal from room into bathroom. Each mildly annoying.

Comfort, shuttle bus is good but a bit trying when you have to pre book and you are not too sure where you will be at the end of the day....get a taxi!!! Location is good for being near everything. Breakfast very good ample amounts for anyone

Biggest downside is the location it is in the City....very poor area with lots of homeless people sleeping in the streets. We wouldn't have felt safe walking back at night OK if you arrange transport.

Very nice place to stay as far as the facility goes. Room was very clean and a great value.

The staff at the front desk were very rude and unhelpful. Really made for an unpleasant experience.

It was a convenient place for a quick trip, as we live in Sacramento and like to visit regularly. We will stay here again.

The tenderloin neighborhood would make many nervous, but for us it was ok, although we took a cab at night instead of walking. Walking in the day was not a problem

The hotel is really close to everything and with the shuttle the hotel offers even more convenient and you can avoid the homeless.

The staff was so friendly and helpful, just really fantastic. The room had floor to ceiling windows which made it feel even bigger than it was, and it was plenty big! The view of the city was great too.An easy walk to Union Square. All in all a great experience.

You have to be willing to ignore the homeless if you walk to Union Square, but as long as you don't bug them - they won't bug you!

The staff was exceptional. The breakfasts were terrific. The hotel was fine in every way and the idea of them able to offer limited shuttle services really helped.

We really needed a chest of drawers. We stayed for over a week and it was a pain not to have a place for our clothes. Also, oddly the sink was way too big - no place for our "stuff" like toothbrush! A bit out of the way, but that part was manageable by cabs and shuttle.

A clean, design wise bare bones, centraly located, comfortable place with an exceptionally friendly, helpful and accomodating staff.

Location was somewhat of a problem when walking back in the evening but this can be dealt with by taking a cab. Perhaps the quality of breakfast could be upgraded!?

Very clean and modern hotel within walking distance to many San Francisco attractions. Very nice staff.

It's near the "tenderloin" area of San Francisco which is The bad part I town, crackheads and such. But it's fine as long as you don't walk around at night alone.

It is located nearby the city center and not far from bart

The price was too high- total more than 200$ per nihgt

The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Were happy to organise tours or anything else you requested. Beds were comfortable, what more can you ask for.

the location, even though close to town, didnt seem safe enough, especially at nite for the boys though my husband and myself felt safe enough..

Staff was very friendly/efficient. The beds/bathrooms were very clean - shampoo/soap/lotion were really good - didn't feel like cheap stuff. Breakfast was okay. Security/safety was a real plus...and having a safe was very much appreciated.

Rooms smelled like body odor - stagnant smell. The location was not really appealing ..especially in the evening. Walking around the area in the evening was not that encouraging. I should do more research on the locations. Very warm ..didn't realize there was no A/C
