The hotel was great. Rooms were clean and big enough and they had a restaurant which served great breakfast
The area around the hotel isn't the greatest there are a lot of homeless people that don't really bother you but it does make you feel a bit unsafe when walking around
Bed was very comfortable, thats about it ..
Well first of all they said it had a balcony but it was just a ledge. That wasn't expected. Second the maid woke us up at 8 something in the morning while they were cleaning the room next door. I just found that very odd that they would be making so much noise that early. Third, the TV remote didn't work!! Like that minor but that's simple & should've been a problem.
Excellent breakfast, that is included in hotel price and a really a pleasant surprise. Very friendly staff at check in and check out.
Extremely helpful, friendly staff; convenient shuttle to & from popular locations; lovely rooftop terrace; full hot breakfast included; excellent restaurant on site (MrCrave Bistro)
Location - I wouldn't walk alone after dusk. A bit noisy outside at night.
Conveniently close to my daughter's apartment. Also walk- able to the Audium sound performance venue on Bush St.
Water pressure is very low flow.
I really like the young black woman at the front desk that greeted us every morning (sorry I do not know her name). She was excellent and seemed to know San Francisco very well and could give information travelers would want to know. She was always pleasant and answered questions thoroughly. The hotel is centrally located, the free breakfast was good and hot...they could use some hot meat however. But it was adequate. They wash down the outside of the hotel every morning. They offer free shuttle services to several locations that would have costs about $15 plus dollars one way to get to like fisherman's wharf, union square...etc. All in all I would recommend this hotel to others.
When I first got to the hotel, I was driving, and I parked in the one handicap spot they had I was literally hunted down and harassed and told that I needed to move my car so that van to could park there. They wanted to me to check my car even though I repeatedly told them I was not staying I had planned to drive around for a while. Three men literally kept hounding me about moving my car even before I was allowed to check in. It was really quite unprofessional and irritating. The young black woman I spoke of intervened, smiled and went ahead and checked me in so that I could relax and then move the car. My mother and I were both on canes by the way which was quite obvious and ignored by these three men. Why the space was marked as handicap and not as hotel van use only I have no idea! The room does not look like the picture on the web site, it is small, cramped and there are no drawers to put your clothes. No place to put your personal belonging in the bathroom. Coffee pot in the bathroom...whew!!! Can anyone say unsanitary. The hotel is located where there are several homeless people on the street, but even they did not bother us.
I liked everything about this hotel. Was nervous when I first read we were in the Tenderloin area but there were no problems. The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. I liked the rooftop garden and the cleanliness of the place. Stayed 3 days. Everything was great there and I would recommend the Cova to anyone visiting SF.
Nothing. We spent 14 days in hotels and this definitely was the best of them all.
Front desk staff very helpful. Roof terrace nice.
The location close to a homeless shelter - lots of drug addicts and homeless people at night. Felt unsafe, especially when travelling with children. Rooms small, no fridge.
Romm is great
One staff member was trying hard to make my experience better.
Unsafe location. Photos on the website are very misleading and has nothing to with the reality. I had to cancel my stay after one night cause we didn't feel safe at all but when we diid the hotel charged me $450 for the night I spent, a rip off! Booking.com didn't do anything about it, bad experience with booking.com that I won't repeat. The manager on duty was very rude and un helpful. I don't recommend this hotel at all.
We liked how comfortable it was for our time there bed was very comfy and very clean . We got a good spot and we enjoyed out selfs a lot we would stay again
We couldn't open the door to the balcony position of the bed to the tv u couldn't see it to good u had to lay on the edge of it to look straight at the tv there was a little breeze that would come in through the little crack
The rate for this room was a lie they charge 138$ per extra person, the location and advertising for the hotel is an advertising scheme it's in the middle of the ghetto my car got broken into right outside of the hotel parking is ridiculously priced by the hour, the free breakfast sucked, and the hotel room looks so much nicer on the website but once you actually get in the room it's just a white room with two beds and not nearly worth the price they are charging for
Tuck right in the middle of 'Vietnam Town', walking proximity to the Union Square and plenty of places to eat around the hotel. The front desk staff were warm, helpful and friendly.
Room was very small for triple sharing and kinda scary with a lot of hobos hanging around the streets near the hotel.
Parking is not convinent. The near enviroment of hotel is not good, but may be this is the truth of San Francisico down town....
Fantastic staff and facilities
Breakfast was ok
Nice and clean, very friendly and helpful stuff.
Size and quality of room and bathroom
Slow wi fi and elevator
Easy walking distance to most places. The staff were always very helpful and pleasant.
The immediate location was populated with street people which was un-nerving at first although they pretty much leave you alone.
cleanliness, large room, up to date bathroom
location++++: I was by myself for a conference and was very surprised by the scariness of the neighborhood (many homeless shelters)! Don't book this hotel if you are a single woman or a family with kids
+ Clean spacious room, + European style breakfast + Close to downtown (only with car) + helpful staff
-24h Paid parking - we paid about 24$ for 12 hours parking..no discount for hotel guests - its redicilous... to pay whole day hour by hour. Location - so many homeless guys around ...unsafe to walk around even during the day. We used only the car.
It's a nice, clean hotel at a decent price. Friendly staff.
The neighborhood is a bit scruffy but that can be overlooked.
Very new and comfort room and beds.
Don't go out at night. There is some homeless people around.
The complimentary shuttle service, everyone working there was really kind, breakfast was perfectly fine (maybe not that big of a meal but I'm a small eater & it was included) and location wise it was perfect. I was a tad concerned before I got there because of all the reviews, but no need to worry at all. Sure, while walking from the hotel towards union square you'll see quite a lot of homeless people, but they don't bother you nor did I feel unsafe. If that makes you feel uncomfortable, they have their shuttle service of you can order a cab. It's only a 3 min drive to union square, 15-20 to fisherman's wharf
Nothing really, besides maybe no outlets next to the bed!
