The club room amenities and staff were fantastic. The bed and pillows were cosy and a joy to come back to at the end of a busy day.
Great friendly hotel with a homy atmosphere
Location, staff, breakfast, evening drinks. Overall a great experience.
Nothing, just a great hotel
Pleasant and quiet
Not female friendly
Loved the location. Quiet area yet close to broadway, museums and subway station. Breakfasts and high tea are included in the rate and are excellent. Management, breakfast and front desk staff are friendly, responsive, and attentive.
Bed was uncomfortable.
The staff were extremely accommodating and great to deal with. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable -- and the shower was actually great. For a man at 6'3 it's rare that the shower head is anywhere close to a good level.
Their free wi-fi was so unreliable that I had to switch to bridging the connection to my cell phone provider. This got extremely annoying when trying to search yelp for lunch plans.
Very charming, old European style boutique hotel. Outstanding location. Very satisfying continental breakfast. Modest little cheese/wine evening reception. I would not hesitate to return.
Well, the staff could have offered me a nicer room, but chose not to. I liked my room, so didn't complain (even though I did not get what they described). But I was surprised. No reason I could discern for that behavior. Also, mediocre shower - old plumbing.
My wife and I had a great time at the Elysee. The lounge for wine and snacks and then for midnight coffee was a very nice touch, and the continental breakfast was very good as well. The staff was terrific and the room more than met our hopes - we had a suite. Even parking was easy - dropped car with staff and they parked right next door. We have already booked a return stay later this year.
A little tired for the decorating. However, loved everything else and would stay again.
The room size was amazing - spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was nice as well. Loved the location.
Un hotel familiar. We would like to thank you very much its professional and attentive staff.
Continental breakfast and evening wine adds great value, the helpful and friendly nature of the catering team made a real difference too.
In an older building the noise of the heating and hot water not being as hot as it might be can be an issue but when my problems were attended to it was fine.
The hotel location is excellent, in the heart of upper east, very close to all famous brands, Maddison ave., fifth ave., etc. the breakfast was excellent for me, and the breakfast room is a beauty. Reception people very polite and helpful. All in all a very nice stay in NYC.
One small negative was a constant but subtle noise from AC but was nothing too bad to complain about and we got used to it.
Breakfast, evening cheese and wine with other guests in the club room gathering place.
TV didn't have the clearest picture, but we weren't there to watch TV anyway.
It was our 3rd visit to this lovely hotel. The location is perfect for the museum and theatre districts. Staff are friendly and obliging. The complimentary breakfast and evening drinks are an added bonus. We will be back!
I've been staying here on & off for many years & I love the location & feel that it's a European boutique hotel.
During this stay things felt a little worn & shabby. During our 4 day stay our TV did not work. I complained everyday & it was not addressed.
The professional and cordial staff. The oldschool feel with modern emenities. Cleanliness. Monkey bar was like stepping back into time. It felt like I may bump into Jackie Gleason or Tennessee Williams. I booked 2 room for 2 nights, I was there for work with a friend helping me on a job. my room had a glassed in porch which was very cool. Shower was hot...pressure could have been stronger. I usually try a different hotel every time I'm in nyc. I had such a great experience here that I will book this hotel next time I'm in the city. There is something truly special about The Elysee.
The elevator was a bit old but I kinda liked that. It stopped at a couple floors for no reason.. Probly a ghost. $10 beers(but good selection)
The location of the hotel was excellent and the staff were extremely helpful in anything that was asked if them. The hotel enjoys a relaxed ambience which enhances the stay at the hotel.
Possibly more seating needed in the breakfast room as difficult to get a seat at peak times. Also only having one lift can at times cause some slight delays.
Wonderful facility...friendly and helpful staff...rooms are very clean..a top-rate hotel. We loved the wine and cheese hour. This is the only hotel we stay at while in New York.
Nice staff, breakfast included
Bad noise insulation. Guests should avoid rooms on the front side of the building. The noise of garbage collectors makes it impossible to sleep even for one whole hour during the night.
Location Service Quality of food Amenities Room size and comfort
Good location, very little traffic noise. Bed was extremely comfortable, and room spacious. Particularly enjoyed the breakfast, and evening complimentary nibbles. Staff very helpful.
Plumbing in the bathroom difficult to understand. Wi Fi would not work on last day- 14th floor
Well located for accessing MoMA, Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping. Extremely gracious and helpful staff. The common area lounge and breakfast are outstanding.
Rooms are a bit stuffy and ventilation a dated
excellent location ( between Madison and Park Ave, close to Central Park) Different " style" ( cosy ambiente) compared to standard internat'l hotels cleanliness of room (fresh towels, bed every day) The "little" things ( all day "free" coffee/tea, snacks, wine in the afternoon, newspaper, WIFI)
a bit " pricy" ( with all the different taxes, uplifts on top) breakfast nice but during 8 days a bit " boring" ( every day the same )
