The location of the hotel was excellent and the staff were extremely helpful in anything that was asked if them. The hotel enjoys a relaxed ambience which enhances the stay at the hotel.
Possibly more seating needed in the breakfast room as difficult to get a seat at peak times. Also only having one lift can at times cause some slight delays.
Wonderful facility...friendly and helpful staff...rooms are very clean..a top-rate hotel. We loved the wine and cheese hour. This is the only hotel we stay at while in New York.
Nice staff, breakfast included
Bad noise insulation. Guests should avoid rooms on the front side of the building. The noise of garbage collectors makes it impossible to sleep even for one whole hour during the night.
Location Service Quality of food Amenities Room size and comfort
Good location, very little traffic noise. Bed was extremely comfortable, and room spacious. Particularly enjoyed the breakfast, and evening complimentary nibbles. Staff very helpful.
Plumbing in the bathroom difficult to understand. Wi Fi would not work on last day- 14th floor
Well located for accessing MoMA, Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping. Extremely gracious and helpful staff. The common area lounge and breakfast are outstanding.
Rooms are a bit stuffy and ventilation a dated
excellent location ( between Madison and Park Ave, close to Central Park) Different " style" ( cosy ambiente) compared to standard internat'l hotels cleanliness of room (fresh towels, bed every day) The "little" things ( all day "free" coffee/tea, snacks, wine in the afternoon, newspaper, WIFI)
a bit " pricy" ( with all the different taxes, uplifts on top) breakfast nice but during 8 days a bit " boring" ( every day the same )
Sheets were slightly scratchy
Location. Drinks and snacks available all day, complimentary.
Ask for a room at the back, our room at the front was very noisy.
The class, warmth, quality and friendliness. Staff were beautiful - nothing was too much trouble for them. Location was superb!! Talking to a businessman who has travelled to NY 30 times on business and always stayed here - that's a great testimonial!!
The 2nd floor club room with cont. breakfast, snacks, wine & hors d'oeuvres was a huge added bonus. Staff was extremely helpful. Great location. We'll Definitely be back.
Large room, comfortable bed and bathroom, fast internet, good buffet breakfast, central location.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Beds comfortable, rooms decent size.
Odd arrangement at breakfast in that you sit in low chairs at coffee tables to eat breakfast, albeit the choice of continental food was good. Adjoining bar and restaurant which serves the hotel is closed on Sundays.
Club room with tea and coffee all day Continental breakfast was fantastic. Any special request was no problem. Great location
Lift a bit slow
Everything was exactly as it should have been, no complaints. However, the entryway needs a new awning and the lobby décor should be spiffed up.
Feels like a country inn but 100 yards from fifth avenue. Excellent breakfast and afternoon Snacks cheese and wine included
View of air conditioning units from room window
It was in a very nice area and in walking distance of all of the places we wanted to go see. It was established in the 1920's and so you need to realize that it is an older bldg. but it had a classy feel to it. There were beautiful paintings everywhere and gorgeous fresh flowers. The dining area had some tables but also sofa's and chairs with tables. The whole experience was very enjoyable. The bedding and bed was very nice and comfortable. I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary and they put us in this nice room with a patio overlooking the city and a welcome gift of chocolates and champagne. Overall, this hotel is one of our favorites because of the coziness of it and location.
My only thing (which is not a big deal) was that the bathroom sink didn't really have a counter for all my makeup (I know, sounds like a personal problem) but I went outside on the patio and sat at the table and did it and it was great!!!
Excellent service, nice breakfast,
Bathroom extremely crowded and small, TV small and distant from bed, no fridge, expensive for the quality of rooms
generously sized room club room with continental breakfast and afternoon drinks service very close to where the action is
Great leisurely breakfast and nice service. Enjoyed the afternoon wine and food after a busy day which made us relax a bit. Nice large and comfortable room and my husband loved the pillows! Thanks
The street was very nosy and did wake me up a bit; guess I enjoy the quiet of my country life.
Location excellent. Loved the complimentary drinks. Staff very nice.
Staff was amazing: nice, polite, doing their best to make our staying the best. Rooms are big, breakfast is healthy (yoghurts, fruits, cereals, good coffee, tasty bagels) and facilities are great. Complimentary wi-fi is a plus. The hotel is conveniently located close to Central Park, 5th Av., metro stations. A walk to Times Sq. takes about 25 mins.
The noise the air conditioning units are making is not bearable by people in search for quiet places to sleep, or accustomed with very little noise during the night. Rooms almost vibrate from the AC units work both on the back and on the front side of the hotel - maybe because it has only 15 floors... If you're tired enough or had a glass or two, you'll have quite a good chance to sleep. Well, some people are used to the city noise, but you know, it's a hotel and one is supposed to rest... Otherwise, a great hotel. Nothing else to complain about.
We were very pleased with breakfast and the staff were very willing to accommodate our needs. Also the early evening drinks and snacks was a lovely touch. The central position of the hotel was excellent for sightseeing.
Breakfast , friendliness of staff, location, cheese and wine in the evening.
Only one elevator so had to wait...
