I did like the location being on 16 the street, adjacent to good restaurants like Annie's steak house and evening life, like D.I.K (DuPont Italian Kitchen bar n lounge.
I did not like that there was no parking close to the Embassy Inn. I did not like Embassy Inn had no luggage carts to http transport your luggage, to and from your room. I did not like there was no ventallation in the bathrooms. Also, the standard double rooms were extremely small, too Ansley when you open the door to the hotel, one step into the room you ate in the bed!
Staff. Quaint ness. value++.
Not much to not like.
Bedroom was good 5 minutes by bike from the white house very nice area clean room
wi-fi is poor quality, could be a little better
For the price, the location was excellent ; major tourist spots within walking distances
Business hours of nearby places to eat were not open late on the weekends...
I like the price. The hotel got the job done.
There is no free breakfast.
Competitive price Nice neighborhood Pleasant staff Parking (for the most part)
Location, crown molding, decor, price, IFC, Sundance channel, Hallmark channel
Bad wifi, sometimes poor 3G signal, table top ironing board, room was a little warm
Bed was very uncomfortable lumpy and hard
The staff was very nice. The beds were comfortable. We were able to use a shared refrigerater and microwave to store and warm leftovers.
Breakfast only from 7-9 am and $5. We never were early enough for breakfast. Day 1- room on basement level. Dark and tiny with barely any light coming through the one tiny window. Don't stay in 103, should be used for a closet. Wifi signal terrible, had to use iPad in hallway. Tiles coming off shower floor. AC only put out warm or freezing air, nothing in between. Day 2- all of the above plus hot water went out. Asked to change rooms. Day 3- moved to 1st floor. Much nicer room, bright with two windows. Window shades not maintained. Could pull up, but not all the way down. Wifi worked. AC better. Remote control for TV did not work well, impossible to change channels. Day 4- hot water out again. Had to go out without a shower for the second time.
I like the staff dedication to duty
No fridge oe microwave in the rooms. Its not the best.
Good price, great location
small room, wifi didn't work very well
Wallpaper hanging off the wall and you can see it has been like that for a very long time. Room was neglected. You can find much better for the same price.
It's more personal than the larger hotels
The location is great! It was within walking distance of the center of DC. Lots of restaurants are a short walking distance away. Compared with other hotels in the vicinity, the price was great.
The room was very small, which for one person on business wasn't an issue, but if I had brought my wife, then it would have been cramped. However, for the price, it would have been OK for a day or two.
Staff are very accommodating and the place is quiet and safe.
The lady that worked weekdays- believe she is the manager was very helpful and gave great customer service. She more than made up for the poor weekend front night service
The weekend night staff was very disappointing and not helpful or seemed to care about customer and my hotel experience staying there.
- Good location near to White House, monuments and restaurants of U street and 14th street. - Room cleaning
Very poor staff. Neither friendly, nore supportive, nore polite... Definitively the poorest hotel staff ever met in US. A pity because this hotel could be a great place with some renovation of the rooms, some attention put on cleaningness and a staff dedicated to the customers as it is normally in US.
Availability on a busy travel day Cleanliness
VERY small room Difficult access
The bed was comfortable
Staff did not advise of parking restrictions so I got a $200.00 ticket. Although there was a print out on the desk no refrence was made to the print out. Tired travelers don't often canvas the check-in desk for critical information, they expect the staff to advise. - they had no problem telling me about breakfast.
quiet, ambiance, attractive facade and foyer, comfortable beds
tv - not able to get rid of closed captions,. toilet - pressure too low. nite lite in bathroom would be good.
could not find a parking space; no parking for the hotel and when i called the person who answered the phone was not very helpful- end up looking for another place to stay
Had to argue with check-in staff who tried to charge me a different rate to that booked with booking.com on arrival and before leaving which was a waste of time.
Clean and comfortable bad, good shower, and a desk to finish the daily work.
Now view, and a bit small. It's not important if you're there to sleep but I wouldn't want to spend a day in the room. I'd say good for business, not that good for romantic vecation (in DC? :)
Cute old (historic) style hotel in historic neighborhood close to bus and train and lots of shops and restaurants one block to west. Staff was friendly and willing to help with whatever we needed. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend the hotel to others.
The room we had was a bit on the small side, but it worked and was ok for the price we paid. It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room. Also, one of the light switches when you first entered the room controlled the power to the rest of the room. I spent one morning trying to figure out why the bathroom light wouldn't turn on and finally figured it out. It would have been nice to know about that.
