I like the price. The hotel got the job done.
There is no free breakfast.
Location, crown molding, decor, price, IFC, Sundance channel, Hallmark channel
Bad wifi, sometimes poor 3G signal, table top ironing board, room was a little warm
Bed was very uncomfortable lumpy and hard
I like the staff dedication to duty
No fridge oe microwave in the rooms. Its not the best.
Good price, great location
small room, wifi didn't work very well
Wallpaper hanging off the wall and you can see it has been like that for a very long time. Room was neglected. You can find much better for the same price.
It's more personal than the larger hotels
The location is great! It was within walking distance of the center of DC. Lots of restaurants are a short walking distance away. Compared with other hotels in the vicinity, the price was great.
The room was very small, which for one person on business wasn't an issue, but if I had brought my wife, then it would have been cramped. However, for the price, it would have been OK for a day or two.
Staff are very accommodating and the place is quiet and safe.
The lady that worked weekdays- believe she is the manager was very helpful and gave great customer service. She more than made up for the poor weekend front night service
The weekend night staff was very disappointing and not helpful or seemed to care about customer and my hotel experience staying there.
- Good location near to White House, monuments and restaurants of U street and 14th street. - Room cleaning
Very poor staff. Neither friendly, nore supportive, nore polite... Definitively the poorest hotel staff ever met in US. A pity because this hotel could be a great place with some renovation of the rooms, some attention put on cleaningness and a staff dedicated to the customers as it is normally in US.
Availability on a busy travel day Cleanliness
VERY small room Difficult access
The bed was comfortable
Staff did not advise of parking restrictions so I got a $200.00 ticket. Although there was a print out on the desk no refrence was made to the print out. Tired travelers don't often canvas the check-in desk for critical information, they expect the staff to advise. - they had no problem telling me about breakfast.
quiet, ambiance, attractive facade and foyer, comfortable beds
tv - not able to get rid of closed captions,. toilet - pressure too low. nite lite in bathroom would be good.
could not find a parking space; no parking for the hotel and when i called the person who answered the phone was not very helpful- end up looking for another place to stay
Had to argue with check-in staff who tried to charge me a different rate to that booked with booking.com on arrival and before leaving which was a waste of time.
Clean and comfortable bad, good shower, and a desk to finish the daily work.
Now view, and a bit small. It's not important if you're there to sleep but I wouldn't want to spend a day in the room. I'd say good for business, not that good for romantic vecation (in DC? :)
Cute old (historic) style hotel in historic neighborhood close to bus and train and lots of shops and restaurants one block to west. Staff was friendly and willing to help with whatever we needed. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend the hotel to others.
The room we had was a bit on the small side, but it worked and was ok for the price we paid. It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room. Also, one of the light switches when you first entered the room controlled the power to the rest of the room. I spent one morning trying to figure out why the bathroom light wouldn't turn on and finally figured it out. It would have been nice to know about that.
Lots of restaurants nearby but nearest metro is 15minutes away and all museums are a fair hike. Room was as expected for price paid- if you want basic it's fine but if you want creature comforts and luxury this isn't for you
Reception staff were a mixed bag- some nice, some indignant and apathetic. Complimentary coffee and tea was always Luke warm, never hot, the free breakfast is worth skipping (stale cold pastries and basic cereals only) unless you're on a really tight budget.
Price and location
the room is too tight; tv set off from viewing angle. You can not change the room temperature yourself - have to ask the desk to adjust the room temperature - ridiculous.
very very small room
The air conditioned. The area where it's located
The staff didn't know anything about Washington, no idea where to find a shopping mall, no idea about a bar, jazz bar etc, no help at all. Don't let the hotel order a cab for you, in my experience takes extra time because they order the cabs with a circle of own "taxi friends", which take too long to come and these "Taxis" (which don't have any taxi signaling neither a Taximeter nor a credit card point of payment) charge you whatever price you nod to accept. In my experience took me 30 minutes!! From the moment I ordered a taxi til the moment I was dropped again in the hotel because I refused to pay the Dulles airport fee the taxi driver was asking me; then I have found a cab myself. Need a taxi just go out of the hotel and grab a taxi in the street, there are plenty of them. Wifi at the rooms or at the lobby was a mess, there were several open Wifi with some "Embassy" name on it but mostly weren't functional, once you get one it doesn't remain stable.
Location was good and the price was right.
Room was very small with the a view of a wall from the window.
The bathroom was clean with adequate supplies. The sheets were clean white sheets. The bed was comfortable. While i said the room was small etc and the air con was very loud the thing that disturbed me most was the carpet. I did not like walking on it in my feet.
I arrived late. I rang the front door bell twice and nobody answered. I called the hotel and the man then buzzed me in. He claimed it had worked a few minutes earlier. The man behind the desk was curt. Thats it. The room was small dark with a small window to an inside yard. The airconditioner was a loud box on the floor. The carpet is 'manky' and needs to be changed. In the morning (930am) the man behind the desk was in the back and was asleep. Perhaps he worked all night i dont know. I just left the room key on the desk and was on my way.
