We were assigned to a room next to fwy on 3rd floor next to stairs and vending machine. Very VERY loud, couldn't sleep first night. Window so dirty LITERALLY could not see out window, not that there was anything but freeway to see. Omelette station and also bartending staff exceptionally rude, very surprising, and the bartender at 10 pm on a saturday says no ice, no mixers, pours a warm gin martini and garnishes it with lime (??) then charges me $11. Then she insults girls drinking in bar who are too drunk to hear, but i did.
A Sign in our bathroom said don't take towels to pool please, there are poolside towels... but no towels available at pool. Jaccuzzi jets not working. Called from cellphone poolside to request towels, tiny work out towels were provided. We went back to our bathroom and grabbed the bathroom towels. THAT meant the next day we didn't have towels to shower. Called housekeeping, got Voicemail. Called front desk and asked for towels. Thirty minutes later a maid barely knocks on our door and then enters with her key before we can answer. I ask for the towels, she has none, only asks if we are checking out and when. I explain towel situation and she seems angry and leaves. I call the front desk and ask for towels again. Same maid brings towels but now seems outright hostile. A few minutes later a kind member of staff brings even more towels. Showering and packing commences, yet the next thing I know there is another brief loud knock on the door followed by a different maid entering with her key before we can get decent and answer the door. She asks when we are leaving. Unreal. Called the front desk to explain situation, professional staff offered late checkout which wasn't necessary but was at least an effort.
Never again. Id rather pay twice the rate and get at least the bare minimum of service.
My daughter is starting 4 years at ASU, so I will be back in the area many many times.
Front desk staff was pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast bar was very nice and full of choices. The grounds were nicely kept and for the price I didn't have an issue with the room, although a bathrobe would have been so appreciated, and were obviously available as we saw carts full of them, but apparently not in our room. Maybe because we were at a "discounted" rate.
