no closet in room ---no maid service when requested- in 5 day stay only had one maid service after I complained- staff berated me for accidentally breaking wine glass and made me pick it up-ran out of bowls and plates 4 times during breakfast service- breakfast food was ice cold everyday- staff stood around and talked instead of restocking plates & bowls- I want adjustment on bill
Free breakfast and afternoon drinks. Complimentary snacks. Close to waterfront and Amtrak
Renovation noise and dust.
The only thing I liked about this stay at this Embassy Suites was the location. It is only a few minutes to walk to the USS Midway, the Star of India, the boat rides from Hornblower and a few good restaurants.
It is absolutely incredible that they have this hotel open with all of the construction taking place. There was no work done on the weekend so it wasn't noisy. However, the main lobby is a couple of temporary tables put up with some computers to handle check in. There is no room to stand and it gets super crowded at the only doorway to enter because of the valet parking. Speaking of which, there is no parking near the hotel and it costs $40/night to valet. It is your only option so you just have to eat it. Once you get past the main lobby, you are greeted with the construction the moment you step on the elevator to your suite. The whole internal area is completely ripped up. There are tall barricaded walls that cover the first floor. The mezzanine has plastic sheathing covering the once open hallway to protect from the dust and debris. They do serve breakfast still but you will find it a real treat. It is tucked in on the mezzanine hallway under the plastic sheathing. I kid you not. I wish I could post a picture because it is comical. They took a conference room and converted it to a makeshift dining area. There are not enough tables/seats to handle the weekend rush of people who are hungry. There wasn't enough silverware or dishes laid out. Drinks were in multiple locations so you had to walk back and forth and fight crowds of people cramped into the tiny hallway. Just ridiculous. On monday, all you heard at 8am was construction noise. Drilling and pile driving into concrete was a joy to eat to let me tell you. The room was shaking while we were giving kids a bath and getting them ready for a 10am event. It is just pure greed that has this place still open for business. Shut it down while you are refurbishing it. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Dated and I wasn't aware that it's in the middle of a renovation. It's quite old and 80s.
The location is prime, very near the Embarcadero. There is a lot to see and do that is easily accessible by walking or taking public transportation. We liked the setup of the room, with the bed being in one room and the kitchen and TV through the door nearest the hotel hallway. We had great views from our window! There was a delicious cooked-to-order breakfast as well.
We had two beds in our room, but they were the shorter and narrower full size as opposed to queens. The beds were not very comfortable. The room decor was dated. We understand that some aspect of the hotel will be updated very soon.
Loved the roominess of the suite and the location of the hotel itself was wonderful!
Not one person notified us that MAJOR DEMOLITION was going on in the middle of the hotel, which affected EVERYTHING! WHole inside had plastic sheets taped up, breakfast room was now upstairs and draped in plastic cloth, had to walk outside to reach restaurant and not adequate signs posted giving directions, couldn't reach anyone by phone, dust ruffle on both beds were filthy! Just very disappointed for Embassy Suites!
We had to wait 40 minutes for our room cause it wasn't ready. We couldn't check In til 7pm. Also we had to valet park cause they didn't have self parking. Then they swiped my card for 50.00 for incidentals plus 39.00 for valet.
Good location for walking to various locations. We walked to the Gas Lamp area and rode back with one of the bicycle taxis. Enjoyed the ride back..!
The Hotel was doing renovation in the lobby area at the time of our visit. We were looking forward to seeing what the web-site had shown. Maybe just poor timing, but it was disappointing.
Breakfast Food Collection. Suite Kitchen Facilities. Pool.
Free breakfast Baggage hold Friendly staff
No airport shuttle
Loved the fact that we could walk to where ever we wanted to go. Place was very clean and spacious and we enjoyed the free breakfast.
Parking was expensive at $39/night
The front of house staff were informative, and polite.
Save the environment,if you select this, your bed, etc,is not touched for 3 days. This to me is,reduce the service staff.
Evening reception. Large rooms.
Would be great if there is free wifi. Spread for breakfast could be better.
Breakfast is good
They are selling rooms they do not have. NO 2 bedrooms suit in this facility!!
Happy hour reception was so much fun. The breakfast choices are excellent. Location was close to events, shopping.
Double size mattress is to small for two people to sleep . Knats were a big problem on the fifth floor. More ventalation needed in the pool area.
Location on the bay and proximity to the Trolley and Gas Lamp were excellent. Stayed here and took the Trolley to go see the Chargers. Go Bolts! Good ride, great crowd, easy access.
Room rate was great. However, the parking fee at $39 was a bit much. I've stayed at luxury hotels in SFO and paid less.
wonderful location and very nice accommodations for the family. I wasn't sure what to expect from the reviews but I was very pleasantly surprised.
Sheets were not changed in my room from previous occupant but they resolved the issue within about 20 minutes
The hotel is near everything. Seaport Village, marina, harbor cruise, gas lamp is close enough to walk to comfortably. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent and not just because it's free.
One remote for the 2 tv's in the suite. Bed pillows a little flat. Happy hour food offerings were lacking.
The staff from the valet parking to the front desk as well as the cleaning were excellent. the location made easy to leave and return. Very happy with our stay
The furniture in the living room was not that comfortable.
Loved the view of the bay. Room was very comfortable, clean and what a view of the bay from the balcony. Friendly staff!
No wifi available in the room. Should not be charged extra for using the Wifi in the room. :(
I loved the view of the pier and the interior of the hotel was beautiful. The hotel offers complimentary cooked to order breakfast and happy hour. The location is great we walked everywhere but to the beach.
The only thing I dislike was the cigarette butts that were sitting on the balcony
Beds were comfortable, despite the rooms needing some upgrading, we had a nice stay, view from the room was secular and we were mot far from where we needed to be.
The rooms need some upgrading ... saw chips on furniture, vanity tops looked dull ln some areas, color scheme needs to be brighter.
the outrages 40.00 fee for parking. by the time you tip the valet you've spent 60.00. pure B.S. a major ripoff. never again.
I like the concept of Embassy Suites, and stay when I travel with my grandchildren. The separate room is an asset and morning breakfast is convenient and plentiful
The hotel is dated and dirty, when you touch the handrails they are sticky, the old dirty kind of sticky. After the first night, I asked for a new mattress for the pull out bed, it was so thin and caved in, if I was a hotel manager, I would be mortified. I had to ask 4 times during the day, to get that done before we went to sleep. At the same time I told housekkping that the smoke alarm was beepng and needed to be changed. At 2:30 a.m. the smoke alarm statred beeping, I think it wasa different one, not sure, but I had to call at that itme of morning to have it changed, I would think they would have some king of schedule to regularly change the batteries, so people would not be disturbed in the middle of the night. No one said sorry , or anything, there appears to be no active manager. To top it all off,I left my phone charger, and have called twice, since checking out and have not gotten a call back. This hotel need new management and updating.
