Nice amenities. Happy hour for adults, pool for kids and hot breakfast for all.
Only drawback was lighting. Hotel was very dark as atrium was covered with snow. Not enough interior lighting to make stairs safe. Dark carpet and dark tiles made the stairs difficult for members of our group.
We first stayed here in August for a wedding and paid the 'block of rooms' rate. This time we ended up getting an even better rate with booking.com. Complimentary cocktails and breakfast are great amenities and make this hotel a wonderful value. Love the size of the room, but if you have overflow using the sofa bed, see my other comment. The meandering center walkway, with the stream makes it really feel like a get-away.
If anyone stays on the sofa-bed in the living area, be aware that noise and light seep in around the entry door. This created a less than stellar experience for those sleeping in that area. We have experienced this on two separate occasions. During our stay the hotel was hosting 600 students for a Future Farmers of America convention. Saturday night we enjoyed a blaring DJ for several hours. We actually didn't mind the music, but would have appreciated being informed at the time we booked or checked-in that this would occur.
Spacious room and made to order breakfast.
Youth Hockey team guests allowed to run around the hotel without supervision. For example, upon our arrival they (8) were occupying the elevator moving from floor floor. Later at night approximately 1am they were noisily running the hallways.
Breakfasts and manager's cocktail. Fran at breakfast was excellent making omlettes. Fran is a very familiar face and that is a big bonus when you stay at this hotel often.
The reception at the front desk. We have been back at this hotel over a dozen times. You would think they would know us by now. They don't. They never go out of their way to accommodate you until you actually complain. This is where this hotel needs BIG improvement. They need a people orientated manager that will improve staff moral and give them direction. Make the front desk your New Year's resolution. No problems with breakfasts, they are great. No problem with manager's cocktail, people are happy. Front desk. Point of check in. Need accomodating staff on duty. Smile and welcome your guests would be a good start:)
The lobby and rooms are wonderful....spacious and very pleasant sitting in the lobby enjoying free cocktails from 5:30-7:30. However, you may want to consider limiting the number of children's birthday parties, as there were 42 children in the pool area, and many others running around the halls as if it was a track. Upon realizing our neighbors were having a (very loud) party, the front desk staff happily moved our room.
People smoking outside door
The atrium and the lounge areas
It was clean and comfortable. We particularly liked all greenery in the interior courtyard and tropical feel. Breakfast was exellent with made to order omelettes and fresh fruit. The room was quiet even though it was next to a major highway. Friendly staff.
I like Embassy Suites. The hotel was clean, the food was great
There was a baseball team or two staying at the hotel. The kids were running up and down the hallways, pounding on doors in the middle of the night and even had their bicycles inside the hotel. The staff did nothing. When I complained, the front desk staff offered to rebate 50.00 from my bill. I have yet to see the credit.
The breakfast was very good. Room was comfortable and clean. Overall a very good place to stay.
Pool area was nice. Breakfast was very good (variety-something for everyone). Rooms were clean and comfortable. We were overall very happy with this hotel :)
Hotel was dark...didn't feel welcoming. Kind of drab...would have liked to see the lovely fountains and walkways better lighted. during our stay, there was a water mane break and there was no water for hours. We found out from other guests...it would have been nice to get a call to our room to just let us know. (We didn't have any issues with it-didn't otherwise affect our stay).
Convienantly located, well maintained. friendly staff.
the staff was very helpful
Rooms were not ready at check in time. They kept telling us it would be 20 minutes. They told ALOT of people it would only be 20 minutes. It was over an hour. They did comp us one night for our delay.
