- 2 blocks from French Quarter - Very friendly staff - Cable
- 2 block walk to the French Quarter is pretty sketchy - Very old rooms - Firm bed
The staff is excellent. The guy at night is fabulous. He is a wealth of information on the area, just ask him. The location is great and close enough to walk to the French Quarter. We knew from the reviews what to expect. The rooms are old and run down, but ours was clean including the sheets on the bed. Hotel Impossible was there 2 weeks prior to our visit. They did the lobby and room 101 (NICE!!) which one of the staff showed us. The owner's son is taking over the hotel soon and he called Hotel Impossible to help (or that is what we were told). I am not sure I would stay there again, but I would not rule it out. The price was fabulous and we were on a really tight budget especially since food and such can be pricey in New Orleans.
Location is great walking distance to French Quarter.
Place is pretty much a dive. Great price but you definetly get what you pay for. If you don't mind a run down place and just want a place to try and sleep go for it. Otherwise kick in another $50 and go elsewhere.
the location was a easy walk to everything. Nice patio.
the paint was peeling. the bathtub and sink would not drain. the bed was painful.! the walls are paper thin. There is no closet or even a hook to hang anything. If the owner cared just a little he could make that place nice.
Everything. Was so gross that we did not even stay there.
It wasn't fancy by any means but it was easy enough to walk to bourbon from and the bed was comfy enough to sleep on after a night of partying.
The a/c was terrible during the day. It was hotter inside the room than outside.
We loved this little hotel. A lovely two block walk to the French Quarter, free parking, and a friendly & accommodating staff. The building itself is old and unique. The rooms are small and simple with a private bath. If you want a cheap place to sleep while you explore the city this place is ideal. If you want giant flat screen TVs and a gym go stay somewhere else.
I needed a place to sleep and it was that. The bed was actually pretty comfortable.
Felt like i was in a jail sell or a dorm room. Old and ugly but it was better then i thought it would be when we first arrived. If i absolutely had to i could stay there again.
The location is excellent. Free parking. Nice balcony.
The hotel looks better on the net than in real life.
The price was good since you can expect to spend quite a bit for enjoyment. Still a tad high for what you get.
It was clean and sufficient but the bathroom was a bit scary. The sink looked like it would fall at anytime. The water pressure in the sink was a trickle and the toilet!!!!! Come on guys!!!!
smell was antiseptic, had to turn in key every time i left, too noisy 'police came, extra charge for ice, 10$ deposit, indigents hang out out side, some one opened my door with out knocking,
location to get to french quarter
bad area could not go out alone
Inexpensive compared to the other hotels.
Sparsely furnished. Sketchy feel. Aweful bed and I'm not picky. No shampoo/conditioner. Had to leave key at front desk if going out. I don't mind old buildings but there were places in the floor that felt like it might give way very soon. DO NOT GO OUT at night in this area.
The staff was awesome.
I couldn't believe this place exist. Unbelievable waste of money. This is 2014.
Disgusting service, disgusting rooms, bad bad neighbourhood, shower didn't even work. Do not go to this place, find somewhere else.
As a filmmaker, it was an interesting experience - already got some good ideas for film noir screenplay.
No phone in room. No closet or any place to hang up clothes. Extremely old and loud airconditioner. Water in sink does not drain. Skipped the shower and got out of town the next day as fast as I could.
I love the close proximity to the French Quarter. It was very affordable. Understand that this is no frills. No shampoo, no closet, no dresser. The room is very small, the mattress has plastic over it. I really did not care, it was not my intention to spend time in the room. You get what you pay for and for 114.00 for a 2 night stay what can you expect. There is parking on the primes is.
I stopped in for a few minutes to relax, came out of my room to look for some ice (costs .25) which is fine. The owner told me that I could loose my 10.00 key deposit for being barefoot. I thought that was funny, but how silly. The coffee in the morning is the color of weak tea.
Wonderful staff and a wonderful bargain. It has the necessities, parking, clean, and safe. I think it is charming and has character. The charming balcony is nice. Just a hop and a skip walk to French Quarter. Much more quiet tucked into a more residential area. Entry doors are always locked for safety and only guests are allowed to enter.
Only once scary encounter with a man asking for money while walking home alone for the night. Just walk with a buddy and you will be fine. Hotel doors are locked ams only guests can enter.
cheap, got what i paid for
badly in need of remodeling
It is close to French quarter, but some bridges to sleep under too.
There is nothing to tell to like. This is no hotel, just a roof over the head for 78 bucks. Get it off the hotel list, nobody should share the same experience.
Nothing. Checked in then checked back out. Ended up staying at the Hilton Hotel.
With this place you get a safe hotel in a safe area at a great price. It's by no means luxury but gets the job done. I bring my own sheets, blankets, febreeze.
The bathrooms should be updated but again you get what you pay for. They were at least clean.
