Excellent staff that was there for you at all times. From the moment of check in with the courteous valets through all of the great people at the resort. We did not run into anyone who didn't want to make our stay the most pleasurable. The resort is quiet and beautiful throughout.
There is really nothing we didn't like or found disappointing. We would definitely stay again.
The Spanish style architecture and grounds were lovely. The extra touch as the glass of champagne upon arrival and wine in the room was great. Everyone was extra helpful
That we had to change rooms around midnight. There was an odd sound coming from the top of the bathroom, staff was very responsive and sent maintenance to investigate and move us since they didn't know the source. Made up by giving us a credit to out bill..
Delightful comfortable room. The ambience of the estancia was calm and restful (and sweetly perfumed). We did not use the leisure facilities, but they looked good. The food and restaurants were excellent, with one exception (see over)
We were very irritated on our last morning, by both our server and the glacial speed of the service, and the server's attitude., viz we objected to the stale tasting quality of the orange juice, and were told that we were mistaken it was fresh squeezed that morning. Wrong on both counts - he needs to learn the first rule of restaurant service. That's the reason for the "good" staff appraisal. It also must be said that corporate entertainment took precedence over the individual, resulting in very slow service on our last night. A pity, because we loved our visit generally.
The rooms were nice (and very clean) and the grounds beautiful. It felt like I was visiting an amazing ranch house in a far away place. You instantly feel at peace being there. I also liked that we were greeted with a sparkling wine upon check-in. That was a nice touch.
I recommend staying here, but I do want to pass these comments on to the Hotel: I didn't like finding out a couple of hours after having what I thought was a complimentary glass of wine that it was included in a daily package for an additional fee per day, but honestly the price was reasonable for the additional service that was provided to the guests. It would have been nice to know in advance, however. My biggest concern however with this hotel was it seemed to be lightly staffed, but it could have been the time of year and them taking on two weddings, corporate events and last minute multiple guests via internet deals...I myself was one of them. Just to provide some examples, I never saw a hotel manager walking the grounds making sure everything was in order and that guests were satisfied. We ate dinner at the Hotel restaurant and it was apparent that they were short staffed and again did not see a restaurant manager to oversee the overall experience (food courses were not brought out at the same time) . However, the biggest thing that I found odd was in the evening when we were walking by conference rooms that were still in disarray from earlier daytime events...candidly it didn't look great. I also saw a lot of room service trays in the hallway that needed to be picked up too. And, for the morning coffee that is served to guests, they were out of coffee and cups and the poor hostess/waitress/and everything else was doing her best to replenish on time. I do want to say that the service/staff was all very friendly and they were working diligently, but they needed some help. From my observation, I saw that the front desk was fully staffed, but the rest of the Hotel workers were doing leaps and bounds to try and accommodate multiple guests on their own.

The pool was warm and salt water. The exercise area was well-equipped and next to the pool. The room was spacious and had a patio. The grounds were spacious and well maintained with beautiful plants, trees, etc. It felt like being in the countryside. The staff was very courteous and helpful.
The hotel was very large with several areas for rooms and on different floors. It was somewhat confusing at first until I knew the way to the pool and the front desk and back to the room.

A beautiful hotel...it felt like stepping into another world. Friendly staff members, cleanliness beyond measure and great dining facilities made this a very nice place to get away.
The air conditioning unit was a bit loud as it ran during the night. Also, it would have been nice to have been made aware of the $25 parking valet charge up front.

• The noise. You can hear every footstep, every door open or close, housekeeping carts rolling through, people talking, showering...etc. I think this hotel has extremely thin walls. • There should be an adult only spa/pool area.

patio on ground level feels cramped only one chair (because of fire hazard) on patio/balcony noisy air conditioner, intermittent vs. running low continuously
the bed was hard, and there is no convenience store on the property. I couldn't even get a local newspaper or a snack without going to the restaurant. Also every time the air conditioning came on in my room it sounded like an airplane was taking off. Very hard to sleep with the noise.

Out of the way location Upon arrival the bell greets u takes bags and car That's $25 a day plus a resort fee another $25 plus tax and more tax The 2 day stay was $170 more than advertised When I questioned it I was told lots of guest arrive by taxi which I doubt being over 20 miles from San Diego or airport The place is lovely but overpriced

Beautiful location, ambience, grounds, staff were very courteous, valet parking is mandatory, and worked seamlessly.
It was not clear there was an additional amenities charge, which was added at check-out. We didn't have time to get this value added. Wi-fi charge was part of it, & it was available, but slow. Wine & water were included, but no communication. Had to walk way back to room to claim these items which were "included" in the additional $25 fee. There was not option for self-park
The grounds were well maintained and lush. The resort had a warm feel, not huge with people everywhere. The bell and valet staff were always very prompt and courteous.
I find that when you book resorts online through booking services they do not offer you the best rooms. We we're put in a room the farthest away from the lobby and backing onto the parking lot. Pool area table were not cleaned, garbage was not picked up regularly and towels were left everywhere. Restaurant staff were not attentive, every time we asked for something missing at our table they would go serve another table before we were looked after.

Didnt really get our moneys worth. Better off getting closer to the water for the same amount of money. You are pretty isolated at the resort.

setting. the pool area is very nice. it was very quiet
asked for a late check out ten days prior to arriving. on arriving we were told we would have to ask the morning of our departure, from 6a. By the time I called (at 9 it was a Sunday) it was too late. Poor management

Hidden extras eg seemingly compulsory valet parking
The staff were rude. A valet honked at us while our hands were full w luggage and yelled at us to move our car out of a parking space that wasnt marked. Went down from there
Atmosphere of the resort enabled a true 'battery-charging' stay. What seemed to be a paucity of other guests over Christmas, coupled with the amazing landscaping and great food in the restaurants, made for a very enjoyable experience.
Adding 'resort use fees' to every bill seems a bit disingenuous. Not quite 'bait & switch', but close.
