Older establishment, but very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Not too far from hiking, great complimentary breakfasts, screened in porches, and friendly staff.
No refrigerator.poor WiFi.
staff was very helpful. breakfast was great. lunch was good, but needs more variety. grounds were good.
room was dated. used towels were in room on arrival. blankets were shabby. crickets and spiders in room. cobwebs, spiders and bees on porch. poor insulation, noise from room above was very noticeable. no refrigerator in room.
Breakfast buffet, CLEAN room, friendly staff, outdoor pool, screened porch!!!
Thin wall between rooms, maybe more towel hangers?
location, neat golf course, breakfast, pool, restaurant. Staff friendliness
rooms and hotel buildings need to be upgraded. Buildings color awful, make them brighter! Screens outdated.
It is close to Asheville for a more decent price. It is also pet friendly.
The consistency of the golf course grass, especially in the fairways. The golf prices were incredibly low for the quality of the courses. The pool was large and very clean. The views from every vantage point were spectacular.
There was nothing I didn't like. However, the savings on the golf course meant a sacrifice of elegance in the hotel rooms, though they were clean, comfortable and contained all the basic amenities.
Good value and good breakfast. Close to wonderful nature.
Check-in process was easy. We were given a room that was very close to the pool and dining. Our room was very clean and well equipped. The rate of 69.00/ night was appropriate. I would stay again at that rate..however we do not golf and the usual price per night would be prohibitive since it is so far out of town.
Peace, quite,no lights and the breakfast was wonderful, loved the grounds .
Hard to find. Need large sign on main road.
Extremely friendly staff, great buffet breakfast.
No refrigerator or microwave.
Service from on site restaurant good. Front desk staff friendly for the most part.
Rooms stank of mould and damp. Noise from upstairs ridiculous. Kept me awake at night. Air conditioner very noisy. When I complained about room smelling bad i was told if I don't like it I could check out. This resort is for golfers only. Accommodation dirty and carpets filthy. Would definitely advise against staying Hereford
Very quiet at night. The panoramic view of the golf course was great. We enjoyed the screened in back porch with chairs. This place is a great break from the typical chain hotels.
There's nothing really I didn't like. Just don't expect this place to be high end. The rooms are older, but not stuffy, and there wasn't an odor They're very clean.
We liked the golf course, appreciated the buffet breakfast, beautiful surroundings, screened deck, friendly staff
Liked the breakfast. Food was excellent and the wait staff was even better. We felt very welcome.
The room we we're assigned was really in need of an update, as it is an old building and looked it. The golf course was really rough and disappointing. We had stayed at this resort 20 years ago and it was really nice. But it didn't seem like they have done much with the place since.
I liked the wonderful porch with a golf course and lake view. The beds were comfortable and it was newly renovated. Grill had excellent food and the breakfast was top notch.
Parking was a way from the room, but you colud unload by the room.
the grounds were nicely landscaped. And well kept. Although dated, the room was clean. The bathroom was shining, too. The air conditioner was not objectionable so it didn't keep us awake all night. We enjoyed the complimentary buffet breakfast with delicious fresh fruit. We did have to drive a little bit to get to the breakfast spot. The chef had his hands full that Sunday morning, though. We waited for eggs, bacon, hash browns and coffee cups around 9:45 am. The scrambled eggs tasted homemade, bacon crisp and sausage well done. The hash browns tasted ok with something that I was not familiar with over them. The pineapple muffins were very good. The breakfast was better than most hotel breakfasts in the area. I think the kitchen staff were overwhelmed with all the guests and had a hard time keeping up with everyone coming in. As far as the rooms go, the view from the screened porch was lovely as it overlooked the golf course. We could hear people talking but didn't know which room. With the air conditioner on, we heard only our voices. I think the room would be better priced in the $70 range because of it's dated look and simple decor. The staff were friendly and accommodating at check in as well as at the restaurant. The room was clean so thank you to the housekeeping staff, too. All things considered, I would only recommend this hotel with comments of it being dated and older than most of the club house lodges that we have experienced. Best thing was it was quiet and clean. Bring a flash light as it is dark at night. We found our room was quiet for the most part and especially from the car noises outside the door.
The room and the restaurant are quite dated even though they are renovated. We stayed in room 215 as we requested a room without musty odors. They did accommodate our request. The room furnishings are dated. The bed was firm which we liked. I would recommend replacing all the bedding…such as bed spreads, blankets and thin pillows with down comforters which can be washed after each guest and thicker pillows. The blankets were so fuzzy, I didn't know if they were cleaned often or old. Replacing the carpet near the first sink along with updating the cabinet would give it a better initial look. We had a light bulbs out on the bureau and first sink areas. As a potential member comparing this club to others in NC and SC, this was not a good impression. Worst thing is they allow smoking on the screened porch. We did not experience anyone smoking, though. The ash trays were out there. In this day and age, how about getting rid of trash trays?
Close to Brevard and more economical than hotels in Brevard.
Cost Breakfast Staff
No phone in room Lamp missing lightbulb Open access to adjoining screen porch (no privacy)
Quiet, calm and tranquil place. Nice full breakfast included.
Close to the national parks.
No internet connection the rooms???
We loved the quietness of the area, the beauty of the golf course. The screened porch was so relaxing in the early AM and after dinner. The beds were comfortable. Very clean rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful! Loved breakfast at Cheslea Thank you.
Nothing we did not like, however, I did notice, some updates that would be good - like the covering on the floors outside the rooms was aged. A way to make the air conditioner quieter.
golf course updated bathroom
railing on back porch in eye view when sitting, front balcony needing updating
I liked the scenery and location and free breakfast.
