The property must still be in renovation. The bathroom was the same size as the closet. The "breakfast" was truly poor.
The historical significance of the hotel. The bed was great.

on check out day my telephone calls to front desk were not answered.
the location close to old downtown was nice as was the comfortable bed and the morning breakfast. I enjoyed the 1920's-30's architecture and construction.

The remodel is great. Great history and ambiance.
March 24, 2015
Room was cold.
The history, doors are heavy. I would say 80% original. 93 year old hotel.

shower curtian in our room was to small for the tub
the smell of the hall ways and the way it made me want to see the views from all rooms

However, the large room had only a couch, a big screen TV, a bed and a table and a lamp on a bedside table. There were none of the usual amenities, such as a coffee maker and coffee and tea. The room was very cold and took most of the evening to warm it with a wall heater. The place is very large, and was very empty.
It's a lovely old building. The room was very large and the bathroom had been redone nicely. There were nice soaps and shampoos. The restaurant was also in a lovely dining room and the food was okay, but not great.

the room with the high ceilings was a little too cool but mentioned to the staff and they were very helpful in accommodating with extra bed spread and heater. thanks good stay

We were there in January, and, as it is an old building with no central heating, it's quite chilly. You need to wear your sweater! The rooms have room heaters which are sufficient (just!). You may need extra blankets! Last year we were in a large suite, and the little heater couldn't keep the big room warm.
Gorgeous old Inn, very historic. Breakfast included is substantial. Staff always willing to help out and go the extra mile. I love the main room with the huge fireplace - I could have spent all day there knitting! Even though it's an old building, the rooms are updated and comfortable. Love all the historic display cases and feel of the place. Would love to try the restaurant in the hotel - looks excellent. Lounge is very comfortable and relaxing as well.

Nice period touches in the room. Good breakfast selection.

Athmosphere and silent rooms. Breakfast was ok.

Our room, although mostly clean and lovely, had a few disappointing quirks. The hand soap in the bathroom was already open and half used. More worrisome, the toilet bowl had.. something in it when we arrived. The maid apparently didn't flush it while preparing the room. The restaurant was not up to our expectations. Way overpriced ($25-29 for entree) with the quality of food you generally expect from Denny's. Breakfast was pathetic and utterly disappointing, even cheap motels offer more. It is better for a hotel to abolish breakfast altogether rather than have guests wasting their time to come downstairs early in the morning and find they only offer a cheap yoghurt and scones accompanied by the dreadfully cold coffee.
The room was clean and neat, looked recently renovated. The lobby is gorgeous and the hotel itself is a historic landmark in Eureka.

Very poor facility which has a nice outside and a nice looking old lobby but the hotel is old and tired and dirty. Carpets everywhere stained. Room had no table lamp and poor ceiling lighting, no space in bathroom for personal items, no clock, no full length mirror. Breakfast room is tacky and "breakfast" basically Motel 6. Very nice bar with big fireplace ruined by diner-style grubby booths, pool tables and a juke box. Overall, a huge disappointment and definitely not worth it. You will be better off with one of the chain hotels on the strip.
Location Nice staff

nothing to dislike really, its such a great place to stay
this place is amazing, it has warmth charecter and is a truely wonderful place to stay, beats the cookie cutter hotels by miles, yes it is undergoing renovation in some parts of the hotel (cant wait to see it when finished) but then it was empty for sometime!!! ...and did not cause any problems with our stay . The staff were great and very helpful we loved it here and were sad to leave

There were a few minor repairs, like screws on windowsills, but you were touching up, and were kind enough to give us a first floor room. Really loved the hotel.
Hotel is 1922; lobby has memorabilia and plays Bing Crosby. Whole town is Antique/Retro. You feel you are in the Stanley Hotel, but it's great: cabaret act and you are the only table; playing billiards to juke box tunes era of your choosing, but not your present. A pool! Plus, plus toilets the have a 2 option flush to conserve water that I have not seen since I went to Japan more than 10 years ago. Well done. Good staff!

You exit the elevator into hallways would would expect from a 1920's era Hotel. What is not expected is the musty smell throughout the Hotel. Much like an old basement. Room looked clean, but smelled worst than the hallway. Immediately turned on the fan and opened the window to air it out. Was surprised the window opened for a third story room, but thankful. Bed too soft for my taste, but personal preference so cannot really complain much there. Woke up several times to stretch out my back and attempt sleep again. Front desk was rarely manned. Finally after five attempts I found a staff member leaving the front desk to ask for the WIFI pass code. Phones in room do not ring to front desk WIFI needs work, can hook up but no Internet access. Morning shower presented mold on the shower curtains. Checkout Incident: The combination of lack of sleep, smell, and mold forced my wife and I to cut out stay short. Sore back, headache and nausea did put me into a rather sour mood, which did not help the situation that arose next. Upon checkout Silvia informed us we will be charged for a second night because we used booking.com instead of going directly through them. “Contact booking.com and if they say they will waive the charges then I will reimburse your card”. I opened my handy Booking app and clicked contact us. When the customer service rep came on, I informed her than the Hotel staff said both nights will be charged only because I used booking for the reservations. She asked for my information and like a normal husband I handed the phone to my wife. We were informed that booking will call the Hotel to see if they will waive the second nights charges, it is not up to booking to make that decision. Being lied to and wasting my time set me off, I did yell at Silvia and called her a liar (honest opinion under the circumstances). I was so angry that I had to step outside and let my wife handle the situation. Note to Silvia; always be honest with your customers.
Four stories tall with varied roof-line elevations highlighted by stucco and half-timbering the Eureka Inn just screams “Let me spoil you”. From what I am told, the remodeling of this historic building is still underway and it is hoped it will continue until it is back to its original grandeur status. The entrance we used took us past the pool, which is not open to the public just yet and past a very elegant and comfortable lounge. The main lobby, lounge, restaurant, and bar are well done, recreating the feel of the Ins heritage. When finished the Eureka Inn could provide a means to display thee hospitality and elegance some people enjoyed years past. Due to cost restraints, less expensive replications are used, such as chandeliers. The Eureka Inn is a wonderful building. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, but with the climate in Eureka AC is rarely needed. Besides, a place like this is stayed at for the experience. If remodeled back to original form and customer service brought up to standards that the hotel immolates, this Hotel will be able to easily raise it nightly rates.

THE PALM LOUNGE!!! Be sure your room is as FAR AWAY as possible from the incessantly loud racket!! Our room was third floor above the lounge...impossible!! At midnight the night staff moved us to the opposite end of the inn. Better, but then the drunk party goers spilled outside below our window. Too bad such a gorgeous old historic inn has to have such an element that doesn't seem to go with the splendor of the history of the place.
Loved the outside architecture. The lobby with dark wood, chandeliers, leather couches and antiques. The bedding was fabulous. The fact that it is on the Historic List.

Loved that the hotel is keeping some of the vintage style that it must have had in its prime. Lovely waiting area with fireplace. Staff all very helpful and nice. Enjoyed the live music in the lounge/bar area. Would stay here again if we return to the area.

Bathroom had no shelves to place toiletries. Lack of electric outlets a problem.
Gorgeous European style hotel with fine restaurant on site. Rooms are recently renovated with luxurious bedding and tasteful decor. Plenty of free parking

wifi asked at desk and they insisted it should work but did not in room 327 period

common areas very run down; carpets in terrible condition; ice maker have dismantled and left that way (I'm sure for a long time); I would never eat at the restaurant.
good location and great architecture. Also nice lounge with live music. rooms were nice though, new beds, carpet and bathroom finishings, but no counter at all in the bathroom.

Ants in a bathroom No microwave No fridge Only one chair Bad smell all over the hallways Poor painting
Old style historic building

The room itself was poorly lit. It has one dim overhead light and one lamp which was also dim. The outlets were hard to find. A second mirror in the room would have been nice along with a box of tissues and in a few places a second coat of paint is needed. A wedding took place at the hotel the day we arrived so there were a lot of loud guests in the hall and outside under our window, off an on, until late into the night, however, we did not hear people in the rooms next to us (but we were not sure if they were actually occupied). Overall a nice place to stay, but perhaps just a little overpriced.
The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The room, and the entire facility, was very clean. The smoke detector needed a new battery (chirping loudly) and the staff promptly replaced it. The beds were firm but comfortable. The hotel is beautiful and has a lot of character but you can see where improvements need to be, and have been made. I would love to see it fully restored.

People next door making to much noise and also outside our room. It doesn't have a microwave and a refrigerator inside the room, neither water or coffee for us to drink.
We just spend few hours there, because we just drop our daughter to school, but it looks a nice building and we liked the room.

The Eureka Inn had a renovation and I didn't see it before but… the elevator smelled of must and damp, the rooms were redone in a dark palette, with a cheap attempt at historical accuracy (i.e. ceiling light fixtures from Home Depot in a retro style). A tiny very, old heater was all the heat we had, plastic cups for water, soda machine in a hallway (not very historical). Dark carpets, dim lights, gloomy, even haunted feeling about the hotel and, alas, the town.

Too far from San Francisco. No ghosts, no murders.
Crazy place. Old, strange, fake fireplace, good bar/pub, jazz music, billiard, your own private restaurant. Peculiar staff, old pictures, partly renovated.
