Can't say I liked anything aside from having privacy of my own room.
- friendly staff
- dirty and smells (rooms) - windows were broken (in one room, very unsafe), - window could not be opened (other room) - very dirty toilet facilities
It is super dirty. My room had clean bed sheets and that's about it. All the rest was sticky with dirt. It is not enough to change the sheets What about a plastic cup with rest of a soap in it in between the sink and the wall after a previous guest. Sticky door, doorknob. A window with a piece of wood to keep it open. Super dirty showers and restrooms. I left the place being chased by a bunch of bedbugs.
The hotel needs refurbishing, the bathroom floor was very dirty... the whole place just looks shabbily. Although the location is not bad, it is not a safe district, they broke into our car during the night.... It is not worth saving the money!
vicino al centro congressi e union square (3 min a piedi) Near the moscone center and union square (3 mins by foot)
sporcizia, docce orride (anche se vengono lavate), camera con moquette lurida. struttura fatiscente. Camminare dopo le 9 di sera sulla sesta strada è pericoloso. dirty, horrible showers, very dirty moquette. Old and decadent building. It's dangerous to walk on the 6th streeet after 9 pm.
Just the location
bed room washrooms were so dirty that I was literally getting scared while getting in. There was no lock or may be it was loose (Washroom doors) and anybody can get enter while u r inside. The whole building has some stinking smell. No body came to clean my room, no soap, no hangers...... etc
I did not like anything. I would not repeat this booking again.
1) The area outside the hostel was not clean. Many drug users/street dwellers were in the area. 2) Carpets were old and stained. There was a strong smoke odor in the room. 3) The cabinet was broken and the lock the first night did not work. He tried to move me to another room which had a terrible smoke odor that could not be tolerated.
I like that this hostel is run by a very kind and savvy man, Carlos, and some of his family. Carlos adjusts to you and will accommodate you, as long as you follow the very reasonable rules that keep guests safe. This is not a party place, it's a safe place, with a genuinely caring staff. There are no bugs, and the bathrooms are kept clean. A+
That all the renovations aren't done yet, because it can only get better.
Value for money Proximity to major tourist attractions BART/MUNI connectivity Courteous and helpful staff Owner had very cute kids :-)
Neighborhood of drug addicts and street beggars, thugs Internet crawling, almost stuck TV had only a few channels Booking for two persons in a single occupancy room
Service in the room, you need a microwave oven... air conditioning in the rooms was very hot
not be if this renovation, at the bottom, or maybe is not in the area of the hotel...I did not like that ugly look at the entrance and I did not like that they have no parking
Stale smelling carpets, run down josh house. Honestly terrible place. Everything nasty about this place. The homeless outside had better facilities.
Nice price, good WI-FI connection, very nice front desk guy
No bathroom in room, old facilities in room, location good on map but a bit scary after sunset
Location, it was close to where I needed to be
Bed bugs Loud staff Dirty showers, bathrooms
most affordable and clean hostel possible to find during the busiest weeks in sf for travel
The showers & bathrooms could be much more clean ie. not rusted hooks, filthy curtains, mold and grime.
-Rooms are dirty, and tiny. -Towels didn't look clean at all -Hallway was under construction -Common bathrooms are dirty. -If you step outside the hotel after 9PM, you WILL run into a crack addict or two.
Stayed for 6 nights. The hostel has excellent value - close to city centre and cheap. WiFi was good enough to plan the trip from the hostel. If you want the best coffee and sandwich for breakfast, just a few blocks away is spyglass on 7th street. Really hip place and delicious miniburger and coffee.
6th street towards Market Street and the crossing Howard street have many homeless wandering around. Although we never saw them harm anyone, it did not feel safe in the evening. Pro tip: when returning from Chinatown in the evening , take bus 12 and stop in the corner of 6th and Harrison. Walking from there to the hostel we never saw anything suspicious. It was said somewhere that 6th and 7th street are extension of Tenderloin - one of the shadiest areas of SF. I guess it is true until Howard street comes along. From there towards Harrison its OK. The place smells like pot, stairs are stained and squiky, but residents weren't half bad. If you take caution, focus on the value and have positive attitude, then the place is all right :)
I met the owner he was so nice i asked him if i could borrow a hand mirror i would stay again its close to everything and i got great guest service
Someone was pounding a hammer to a wall or floorboard early in the morning and woke me up i wasnt to happy about that
Sink in room
Dirty showers toilets. Noisy rooms. Stuffy carpets. No elevator. Stuffy hallways
Don't expect luxury here, it's a budget place. However, the rooms are clean, there is free WiFi and the owners are really very friendly and kind. Also, it's located in "real" SF, not far from Market Street but with its very own downtown flair.
Very dirty and noisy place. Very strong smell in the carpet. Location is pretty bad as well. Next time I will spend more time looking at the reviews of the hostels I am planning to stay.
The 6th street is full of homeless and drugs addicts. Not the most exciting place to walk around. It was an extremely hot day, so the lack of air conditioner wasn't that comfortable.
Good location and overall ok for that price.
location is good
very dirty - I found someone's nail on the carpet.. no kitchen, even impossible to make tea(
Location next to the Civic Center and Powel Stration - just 7 minutes walk to Market Street and main public transport hubs.
Despite good location, very poor neighborhood, full of homeless at street (they make no harm - relatively safe - but are unpleasant), and streets very dirt - not good environment for families, children, or even couples. For single travelers and backpackers is ok.
