Most of the staff is kind. The TV was good.
There was no cleaning in our room for the 3 nights we stayed there. The first time we went in the room, there was a small cockrach inside. The individual bathroom in very small.
Only the cost.
The room was dirty and with bad smell. The hotel has shared bathroom that was dirty too. The location is not good.
I liked the area
clean rooms.. hot water... reliable internet. terrific location.. quiet room. friendly staff. Good thorough maids friendly eclectic neighbors... great restaurant and bars nearby
-terrible free coffee -Agreed with morning clerk I would pay for extra 2 days in my room later in the day because he had several people to wait on..returned at 3PM to find my luggage behind the counter and my key not working...However, there was an apology and help carrying my 3 heavy bags back to the same room. -No temperature control in rooms -There are stairs and no lift...but I didn't expect stairs at that price...typical of the area...
The location was great! Lots of activity..
The hospitality sucked. Was not able to enjoy my stay. We couldn't even walk out of our rooms without being harassed by staff. He wanted to see our id's. Wanted a list of the people who were staying in our rooms. Bathrooms and showers were in the hallway which had to be shared by every customer. Nasty!!!
- bed sheets were dirty - mattress was not comfortable - there were no hangers to put your cloths on them - very poor Wifi - no cable available for TV - no mirror in the restroom - small bed for two people (full size bed) - too expensive when compared to facilities that one may get in a hostel
The location was okay, however not very quite at nights!
Spent three nights with three friends, and we all got bed bug bites. Not one, or two but multiples, I personally got more than twenty bites!!!! It is unbelievable, and impossible that the management didn't discover this before our stay. Safe yourself a lot trouble (getting rids of the bugs is not easy), and your money and book somewhere else.
I just didn't like the area around. I saw lots of drunk boys around the hotel. But it's very safe in the hotel. Even you cannot go to lobby without key. Very good access. Only 15min walk to pier3, 25min walk to union square. My own shower room turn off the light very frequently, sencer system. even it's happened while I was sitting in the washroom. I didn't complain, but just told them, and the east indian staff just said "okay". But It's just a hostel quality. No kitchens, microwave is in the common area. My room was very quiet. There's a table in my room, but no chairs to eat food. I just stayed for the very first night. So I was very happy over all. But I'm not going to chose that area.
I didn't like the area, atmosphere.
extremely loud music from club downstairs, very hot in the room
The staff are really helpful and understanding, though you can't expect perfection.
First night we were given a noncleaned room and not remodeled yet.Though not satisfied but the staff promised us that we be given a better room the next day.And that promise was visualised and materialised.
The bedroom smells so bad, and there was a microwave with something that seemed like a dead animal. Around the hotel there are a lot of strange people, it was pretty difficult to feel safe walking there
Location and cost
$50.00 cash deposit and shared bath.
Rude staff, uncleanliness, old and grungy... Would not recommend to anyone.
The location is very good.
Loud noise from the outside, cockroaches in the shared bathroom.
I liked the pizza joint right across the street. They were so nice there.
I didn't like that there was NO parking anywhere. That was such a downer.
north beach location
strippers next door hounding you every time you walked in and out, the stripper music going on every night until 2am , horrible and really old rooms, my hotel room had the number drawin in marker on the door, smelly shared bathrooms and showers, very noisy staff chatting every morning, weird people living there and cooking in there rooms. TV didn't work in the room
They were cutting wood with a skill saw @ 745a.m., and were beating on the door @ 11:10 for an 11:00 a.m. checkout, repeatedly!! Totally rude ppl.....
No wifi, tv dish network was down and they had someone come and look at it . I really believe that the person was not even with dish .. he did nothing. The WiFi was not working on the second floor and I went to the front desk and told the front desk person that it needed to be fix. Het told me to stand one the first floor that it worked there...and that none else had complain .. It 4 am when I woke up it still didn't work. Window was broken and very dirty I had to prop it open with the trash can. It was so hot in the room that I couldn't sleep.. The front desk guy was very rude. This place is the biggest dump. To whoever is thinking about staying there don't!!
Location - 15 mins to all main tourist points (market st, union sq, piers etc) The rooms were basic- but if you go with an open mind and only expect 1 star then it's good value.
If you're looking for good facilities and service then this isn't the place for you! However, it's a good basic alternative to a hostel. my first impressions were better than expected having read the reviews the night before. I thought others were very harsh eg the cleanliness was adequate. And those who complained it was a bad place to take a date - well, a 1 star hotel wouldn't be my recommendation for this! Be aware that this part of town seems a bit seedy - but it's busy with locals too and so I felt safer walking about at night than in many cities, and felt got no probs.
Staff good! Interesting location! Close to pretty much anything you will be doing! Good for younger travellers not people that want bells and whistles!
Wifi really needs some work! Rooms were on the small and dirty side but not a big issue as just sleeping there! No parking on sight so have to pay lot attendant behind facility which added an extra 45 bucks for the 2 nights we were there! :(
Walk to the pier and downtown. Seemed pretty clean and safe. 1/3 of the price of others around the area
Strip clubs next door, chinatown is very dirty and smells a bit.
