This is a lovely old home carefully tended to by Deborah and her staff. On arrival we received a warm welcome and a full tour of the home and had all questions answered. Beautiful antiques, a great night's rest and a wonderful breakfast. I would recommend this B&B to anyone.
Absolutely no complaints.
hostess Deborah is amazing and her staff is so kind and professional. a beautiful place to spend time relaxing and exploring what San Antonio has to offer right in the area. within walking distance of the river walk and Alamo.
Charcterful property Good location near loads of restaurants about a 10-15 minute walk in to centre of town Personalised service Amazing room woth really confortable bed Little touches that make the property really special! Free wine and cookies in evening
Loved the location-walking distance to many restaurants and the Riverwalk. Loved the balcony off the room. Loved the deep antique bathtub. Loved the friendliness of the staff. Loved the breakfast in the mornings and the snacks in the evenings. Loved the spacious room. Loved the solid structure of the house. Loved the accessibility of Netflix. My husband loved the box of chocolates left on the bed.
I couldn't take a bath as there was no plug for the tub. In my reservations I made note that we were celebrating our anniversary, a bit disappointed with the lack of acknowledgement-a previous B&B put rose petals on the bed. Missed an opportunity to get a free appetizer at Azucas because we weren't told to mention where we were staying.
Perfect spot in South Town San Antonio, walking distance to some of our favorites...it sets the tone for some relaxation and some great meals.
Parking, but it was expected
We loved the Hotel, its ambience, the style of a Traditional Southern Plantation Antebellum Mansion, the lovely home cooked breakfasts served in courses with a first class sit-down service. The bedroom suite was lovely with its own verandah and extremely interesting Period Furniture including the claw footed bath tub and en suite facilities which really were en suite! Amazing place. Lovely people. Loved our visit!
Its not really a complaint but being an old house, the plumbing has to be very carefully watched out for. We had an "overflow" accident but this is something that is almost to be expected in an old house.
The location was only minutes walk from the famous San Antonio River Walk, and the walk to get there was through a fabulous old neighborhood with beautiful homes
I can't think of anything I didn't like.
Not having to pay for parking was nice.
The lavender room did have a shower attachment in the tub, but it was just cumbersome once it lost its initial appeal.
I liked that they placed us in an equivalent B & B since there was a mistake in our original booking. Deborah was very accommodating. Thanks
The house was great, felt very welcome. The rooms were nice and very comfortable. Very quite and serine. Staff were great and the little extras made a difference, mid afternoon snacks and bottles of wine put out at night for the guests.
The bathroom was too small, no room to put anything, also no dresser drawers in the room so no where to put clothes that coulnd hang in the wardrobe. Breakfast was a set menu so we didn't eat breakfast at all because it didn't cater to our taste, would have liked a variety to chose from. so felt like we over paid as we couldn't eat the breakfast. Also distance from the downtown river walk area was far, we did a lot of walking. We thought it was closer based on the website information.
We were given a lovely warm welcome, the location was quiet but within walking distance along the Riverside into the town and local restaurants. Breakfast was excellent. Wine with a little snack in the evening added a finishing touch. Lovely
My husband wasn't so keen on the bath in the bedroom (iris room).
Deborah was so wonderful...so helpful...so sweet...and the food was awesome..also the company..
Deborah was fantastic as was her staff, very professional. Loved the location, food, accommodating, pleasant, and helpful. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Great bargain for the price.
Our room, the Lilly, was super, the only problem was it was down stairs, could hear some upstairs movement, heating/cooling fans were a bit noisy, but they prepared us with by leaving ear plugs, which seemed fair.
From the moment we arrived til we sadly departed, we were treated like royalty. Food was exquisite, service was very attentive.
