The Homestead  

The room was really confortable and clean. Its atmosphere was really cosy and there was lots of space for clothing in an additional room where the fridge was. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast is served in a very charming room. It is very nice with a choice of cereals, bagels, muffins and fruits. A toaster is available. And you can eat as much as you want. Finally, it is located two blockes away from Northwestern university Campus and it is much cheaper than the Hilton that is just next door.

Staff was helpful in many ways, on site restaurant is excellent, continental breakfast had good variety, proximity to public transportation was convenient, room was clean and quiet

Being there during the playoffs, would have preferred a larger T.V.

The staff was pleasant and accommodating when we had to leave a night early. While we didn't eat at the restaurant downstairs, it appeared to also have a lot of draw from the surrounding community.

While we knew that the building was old before we booked our stay, it was a little surprising to see the lack up upkeep at one of the few hotels in the downtown Evanston area. The bathroom was nearly impossible it was so small. I wouldn't stay there again unless forced to.

Great people. Super location just north of Chicago. Only few blocks west of Lake Michigan & gorgeous sandy beach. Great restaurant on site and also many more within couple blocks. Will be returning!

The queen suite, with kitchen, dining and living room, was spacious and comfortable and not much more money than a regular queen. Great location in Evanston.

Windows in room could use a paint job and blankets could be updated

This hotel has the charm of a european hotel. The staff were curteous and helpful. The location was quiet and also close to town with a few block walk through a pleasant neighborhood. I will definately stay here again.

The elevator -- just awful --- slow, small, dirty, only one for the entire hotel. Absolutely unbelievable! The bathroom -- small, no storage to speak of, broken shower head, one washcloth for two people. Hvac -- noisy and inefficient window unit more suited to a closet than a room. This hotel was described as charming which, if you find the above qualities well, charming, then it is. To the owner: Spend some of your (considerable) profit and put a proper elevator in the building, invest in some full size toilets, and upgrade your hvac system. And stop using the word "charming" until you do.

The room was stiffling. The place needs a facelift.

This was close to the family we were visiting. The price was fair.

Parking garage charge which is different for us in a small town.

Needs a little updating. Bathrooms small, not meant for two people to get ready at same time. Could not get into resturant busy and small.

在这家酒店才真正有了人在美国的感觉。The Homestead是一所怀旧风格的酒店，我入住的房间是带起居室和厨房的，功能齐全，很舒适、温馨。餐食- 很棒，服务热情。一次很不错的体验。

El personal fue muy amable en un ambiente familiar. El hotel está situado en Evanston, en las afueras de Chicago, en un barrio muy lindo y tranquilo. Hay buen transporte público a downtown de Chicago, y la estación de metro está a 8 minutos a pie del hotel.

El desayuno es bastante simple.

Enjoyed the feeling of not being in a standard hotel room. It had character.

Sehr witziges, ziemlich altes Hotel mit interessantem Flair. Uralt- Fahrstühle (aber sehr gut in Schuss), antike Möbel. Eine schöne Holzveranda, auf der man abends oder morgens ganz gemütlich sitzen kann, ein Restaurant (das ich leider nicht getestet habe). Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, Säfte, Cornflakes, Müsli, Brot (auch weniger süßes Brot), Kaffee okay, Bagel, Frischkäse, Marmelade, sogar Käse, frisches Obst. Mein Zimmer war sehr luxuriös, mit Wohnzimmer, Küche, Schlafzimmer und schön antikem Badezimmer - alles schön verkachelt. Wasser war schön warm und reichlich - nicht so eine Tröpfeldusche. Fernsehen und gutes Internet (was zum Beispiel beim Margarita European Inn sehr schlecht war).

Ich fand es toll. Insbesondere wenn man an der Universität zu tun hat, würde ich da immer wieder hinfahren.

Even if the owner wants to keep it as it was 80 years ago, he shoud ask a decorator to choose the color of the paintings and redo the closets.
