CLOSE TO THE BEACH
HAD TO DRAG ONE MEMBER OF THE STAFF OUT OF THE BACK TO CHECK IN.
Excellent staff...made recommendations when asked. Had a rooftop room so it was like a private outdoor sitting area with views of the ocean. A few blocks back from the boulevard so it was relatively quiet.
Noisy elevator with a thud as it stopped.
Dylan at front desk check-in was very engaging and very helpful. Beds were super plush and comfy.
Elevator felt rickety but I got over it after several trips
The location was great just 2 streets off the main strip, quiet and convenient. Overall was very clean and had everything you need inside the room. Modern heat/air conditioning wall pump. Big comfy bed. Safe. Sitting chair. Flatscreen TV and PS3. Included in your daily charge is dvd rentals from a redbox in the lobby. Nice sun deck on 8th floor. Complimentary shuttle that loops through Honolulu and up to the mall.
Would have to say everything in the place is very dated and well-loved/used for example the furniture and elevator is a bit scary, it bounces at each stop but adds excitement to early morning starts coming downstairs to catch a the complimentary shuttle. 2 out of the 5 front desk staff were exceptionally nice however the other three never even looked up from their computer to say hello when you returned and walked through the lobby. Quite a turn off for such a stereotypically nice town. No pool. Parking is limited and $20/night.
bathtub needed caulking. Had unclean appearance. Windows were unclean.
Noisy young couple as neighbors
Location, knowledgeable and helpful staff, nice sunroof, minutes walk from bus stop, shopping areas and the beach, free dvds in lobby and playstation in room.
very restricted view, a bit noisy.
Very much liked the kitchenette and the location. The free shuttle to and from Ala Moana and other hotels in the Waikiki area was great and reliable. Great DVD rental service and friendly staff.
Room could have been vacuumed more.
Bed was comfortable, location perfect
Very Small old Rooms, over priced, water noise after flushing the toilet, had to flush a few times to stop the noise.
The hotel was at walking distance to the beach another stores. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
Internet was slow but nothing major
We very liked the near to the beach, bars and shops. For the length of our stay and what we have paid it was ok.
When we entered the room for the first time, there was a very bad old style smell in it. The room and bath were also very outdated.
The hotel is located at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki - much quieter than central Waikiki and 2 blocks from the beach. To get to central Waikiki took 15 minutes walk time. We live on acreage so much easier to sleep. Staff were extremely helpful we arrived at 8am with check in at 3pm. They stored our luggage and gave us a free shuttle to the major shopping centre Alamoana Shopping Centre. Its huge we got back at 4!!
I didnt like that we only got one complimentary coffee for our whole stay.
The price was okay by Hawaiian standards. You get what you pay for.dont expect too much. It's clean and organized. Quiet 6th floor.
This was suppose to be a one night rest. I requested 1 queen size bed but they gave me 2 midget size beds. So there goes the rest of my night. Overall, the hotel is old, smells like stuffed musty air as soon as you open the door. Add a few bucks and enjoy your night. Don't be like this guy.btw, GPS will get you lost. It's a one-way street with a different names at the exit/entrance of one-way st. Go figure.
Good location, we lived on the 8th floor with a good view which was nice. Standard was good for the price. Very close to Waikiki, the surf spot The Wall and Honolulu Zoo.
Very bad wifi.
Front staffs are very friendly!
Building and facility are older than i expected.
Proximity to beach and area. Staff helpful with bus routes to different tourist locations. The room was great size for the money--had fridge, toaster, microwave small 2 burnet stove.
Carpeting outdated. No concierge to help you plan
Good comfortable bed and great location.
Wifi didn't work.
Close to beach - friendly staff
The room was small but big enough for the 2 of us. We were more than happy with the accommodation and staff. Good value for money.
Location and view were very good. Quiet Room on top floor,
Old and not updated.
Friendly check in, Upgrade to a Studio, perfect location to a less crowded beach of Waikiki
Could be a little clearer but it was ok
Good location, close to the stores, the restaurants, the bars & the beach. Staff was friendly & helpful. We got a complimentary upgrade to a nice studio with enough space, a kitchenette, microwave, fridge and 2 small, but very comfy beds. Lobby WiFi is free and good. Smoking area right outside the lobby. There's a semi-public restroom (need key from front desk) you can use if you have already checked out and need to freshen up before your flight. Luggage storage is also possible, plus a shuttle service to the airport (12$/person). Large & nice rooftop area. Security guards.
Some people told us that the maids got through their stuff, but we did not have any problems, maids were very friendly.
Mould in water jug . Kitchen too cramped n elements n sink in one felt unsafe .
