wifi was weak
1. Spacious suite and Clean. 2. Excellent house keeping. 3. Helpful staff. 4. Kitchen.
1. Our stay was short to make fullest use of the amenities available in the suite, Ex. Kitchen. 2. Shower head.
The hotel is on a quiet street and well located, walking distance to the east river, Wall street, World Trade Center, Battery Park, China Town and access to the subway is convenient and there is a public parking very close to the hotel. The staff is very courteous and helpful. For sure the next time I travel to NYC, I'll go there (I know the place and the neighbourhood)
Getting an upgrade and font desk service was excellent
They upgraded our room so I'm not sure what we would have it. It's clean and quiet.
It just needs a little updating and fixes.
In all honesty, this was the by far worst hotel we have stayed in across four continents and despite paying for a 4-star room, the room we were given was at most 2-star. The room was on their designated 'smoking floor', despite us being non smokers and not having been asked/notified of this. Second-hand smoke drifted in under the door all night long and the monstrous free-standing air con unit was very noisy yet was unable to deal with this smoke. Opening the windows meant a very load roaring noise from the many surrounding air con outlets in the air shaft (no view, just bricks!!!). The room was ugly and in place of a mini bar was a household fridge (very noisy), on top of which was an old microwave oven, which nicely matched the antiquated cd player alarm clock. The towels smelled strongly of stale cigaret smoke, the shower head was so low I had to bend down to wash my hair, the room was in dire need of decoration, with rough silicone sealant filling gaps in the bathroom. Fortunately I am a pretty good sleeper, and was able to get some sleep. My husband was not so fortunate and was driven out by the smoke and noise before dawn. Seriously, you can not trust this hotel.
friendly and very helpful staff, amazing location, spacious and silent room
the wifi wasn't working properly, too slow and too weak signal
Spacious Room Friendly Staff Clean Great Location
Wifi speed and coverage within the room was at time erratic
View was great! Spacious room with all the amenities for longer stays.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable and hard. Glassware was not covered with plastic wrap or covers. The corner areas of floors were dirty.
Location Staff Food
Suite had really messy window blinds, unpleasant smell in the room at arrival, bathroom sink not working properly
Great value for money and helpful staff!
Grea location. Friendly helpful staff. My second stay there and would stay again next time in NYC.
Great location, I had a pleasant stay! Staff were very nice. Got my room upgraded to a suite with an amazing view of Wall Street. Highly recommended!
the person in the front desk is lack of knowledge of the city surroundings. forgot to make our sofa bed ready when we got hotel late at 11:00pm.
Felt like an old run down hotel, even with the upgrades
Great service. Very nice suite. Good location. Free fast wifi.
that I had to leave!! Breakfast is not included.
Everything. It was a good deal for the price. Besides, it was close to a lot of attraction within a walking distance.
Maybe they could include the breakfast (it was not included).
Room was great.
Staff didn't know or could not call a cab.
Excellent staff and convienent location
location - access to financial district
rooms dingy, quite ugly; certainly not want to spend any more time than necessary in the room.
Had a mini fridge
My husband and I booked a room at the Eurostar in the financial district of lower Manhattan. We arrived late and as soon as we arrived to the hotel we were not impressed. As we approached the building with our heavy bags, we knew just opening the door was going to be a challenge. We didn't, however, think we were going to have to figure out how to navigate through the group of 6-8 young people blocking the doorway for no apparent reason, and no employees to help. We made our way in and up to the room, the problems continued. First, as soon as we opened the door to the room an odd smell permeated througout the room. After we brought our bags in, I went for the bed. Or should I say rock?! I immediately commented to my husband that it was going to be a long night. My husband needing a shower after a long day of travel took one, which was not a great experience, either. The water pressure was weak to say the least. The shower also had an strange half door design which only resulted in water splashing all over the floor. Lastly, the drainage. By the time he was done with his quick shower, he had water above his ankles. Other issues he described in the bathroom included the toilet backing up and the fan being broken. The worst part about the stay ended up being the my lack of ablity to sleep. The bed in fact was a rock. My husband can sleep through such things, I cannot. Also, the skylights, there were no coverings for them. Any hopes of me getting any rest that night were dashed when at about 5:45 am the sun began to come up. The skylights in the room beemed the natural light in the room preventing me from salvaging the night and making the next day of activities in the City a struggle to survive. Obviously, I would not recommend staying at the Eurostar. Additionally, the hotel should probably fix some of the issues described here.
