The staff was very friendly Room was clean
Elevator was a bit slow The hotel could use a makeover
Our room got really musky and hot after every shower..room was smaller than I expected.. but over all everything was okay..
Good location, close to China town. Complementary wine.
Small room. Lack of light in the room. Poor heating. Poor Internet signal. Not enough space for crib.
Great location. Easy to find.
Poor wifi connection, carpet on the floor was kind of wet.
The location, price & staff were all great! Easy & safe to walk around day or night. Right by the cable car line which is perfect! Wine reception is lovely & Eli is awesome!
Bathroom in our room was weird! Very very small shower & toilet in one room & sink is behind folding closet doors outside the toilet & shower! Weird. Hotel smells old but it's a great place to stay.
The free wine between 5-6pm! It was easy to leave our bags in the office for the day after we'd checked out and the lobby area is very smart and cosy.
That the wine was only available until 6pm! 6.30 would have been perfect.
The owners of the hotel really made you feel welcomed - they would make an effort to talk to you and ask about your stay, as well as give you tips on what to see.
afternoon reception with wine, location is good, one guy at the reception was very friendly, another one not really. Terrific sushi place just a block away, really recommended!
a bit over priced but considering location is ok. needs refurbushing, it's all pretty old and at times it smelled almost bad, windows are old and hard to open, parking is extremely expensive, almost 30 percent to add to room price but that's pretty much the rule in san francisco. one should be careful not to end up in the tenderloin area (dangerous neighborhood) which is pretty close to hotel ask at the reception which streets to avoid!
I didn't have anything to complain about. My boyfriend & I loved it so much last year we decided to stay with the same hotel. It's becoming our tradition every year.
Rooms are fairly quiet wine reception included Late ck out time
Slow ck in and ck out Very basic rooms included only one" luxury robe" which was a thin peice of material - No Luxury here! our view was the fire escape of the adjacent building next trip I will stay elsewhere
Bathroom has tow separate parts. You sound wash your hands in the middle of the room!! Free but slow WiFi! Expensive so much
The staff was very nice and the room was comfortable.
My girlfriend found a pair of socks below a sofa, not a big deal.
the question to me should be what didn't I like! everything was excellent from the minute they opened the door for till the minute I had to leave. The atmosphere was wonderful so inviting.... the hospitality of the staff... and they even served complimentary wine at 5 o'clock! who does that anymore?
There wasn't anything I disliked
The hotel has a really bad smell - in the hall and, mainly, in the room. Probably because of its old carpet. The headboard of our bed was disgusting - dirty and yellowish. We had to put a blanket over it.
Friendly staff and great location.
We appreciated the friendly staff and the ambiance of the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet the street was even though our room faced it, and that it was Halloween was even more surprising.
It would be nice if coffee and tea were available in the lobby through the afternoon.
Stall are very nice, professional, helpful Good location
very very very poor internet desperate need for renovation no windows double glazing, noisy during traffic time and the mornings.
We were late checking in due to traffic but the front desk person was friendly and assured us that our room would be waiting. When we artived (Chris) was pleasant and helpful as were the other staff who helpped with our things. They artainged to have our car valet parked quickly and safely. Actually all the staff (with the exception of check out person Lori) were exceptional. Customer Service can be the difference between a poor hotel and a great hotel.
The person who helped with check out was Extreamly rude. I mentioned how clear another staff member was in helping us..she (Lori) said "well you have me now and I am busy". She was also very rude with another traveler when asked how long it will take to get a cab. This person might do better in an area with less customer contact.
Although I stayed during one of the busiest times of the year for San Francisco (Dreamforce), a stay at the J.W. Marriott was equal in price where amenities and room quality reach far beyond what the Executive Hotel Vintage is able to offer.
The cleaning staff was very friendly.
The less than friendly checkin I received was just the beginning. Having to use a window sill as a vanity was annoying, there simply was no vanity space and the grossly oversized wash bowl was extremely slow to drain. My shelf in the shower was dirty and I had to stuff the AC with paper to eliminate the constant rattle. Will never stay here again.
Wifi was completely unusable. Switching rooms didn't help. Not good enough to work, read emails, browse the internet. No commitment to get it working. Wifi is as important as hot water in my opinion - no excuse for bad internet in California. rooms were dusty
This place was perfectly adequate, the staff were lovely and I enjoyed my stay. The wine tasting a 5pm every day was a great idea. It was the best deal I could find in San Francisco and the location was great!
The only thing I would say is that the 'gym' is actually only 3 machines in a small room. Not quite what I was expecting but it certainly didn't ruin my stay :-)
Location - Central, close to Union Square and cable cars. Room size was good. Staff very friendly and helpful
Rooms at front very noisey Wifi intermittent Pricey for what you get
Location Staff helpful (if overworked) Clean, tidy room I was told by a member of the group that the hotel was much better than the SF one he had just stayed in. Perhaps EHVC is 'normal' or 'above average' standard for San Fran.
Spartan room for £200+ a night. Felt like it hadn't been renovated for many years. Nothing was peeling, just felt like I was overnighting at the home of a very old relative. No curtains in the entire hotel - I was informed. Just blinds, which leaked light. Had to unplug the fridge at night as it was so noisy. Breakfast choice was pretty minimal. Clincher was the use of foam coffee cups and plates. For £200+ per night?
We're native San Franciscans. The hotel is located centrally, near the cable cars and within walking distance of many of the places we wanted to visit. The rooms were wonderfully quiet except for city noise, which was to be expected. The 5:00 pm wine hour was especially enjoyable.
The air conditioner had a sour smell. The City was in the middle of a hot spell and the a/c was needed. The down duvet was too warm for the weather and we sleep warm normally. Please provide a light weight blanket (stored in closet?). There was no searchable menu for the television and we had to go station by station to find what we wanted. Also, please provide a hard copy list of television of stations.
