The very laid back atmosphere added to our wonderful LA stay. The proximity of the Farmers Market was a definite plus and we both felt safe at all times.
One particular bartender wasn't super knowledgeable about drink making. but it was still a fun experience.
The hotel was right across the street from CBS Studios and the Farmers Market.
I didn't like my missing happy hour.
I liked the country comes to town motif.
Loved using the bikes to visit Melrose & being so close to 3rd ave cafes/ shops. Also the farmers market & the grove. Ideally situated between downtown & the beaches. Don't miss the Sunday "Melrose trading post" down the street. Rooms are small but don't feel like it with built in furniture. No tub but big nice shower.
Everything has a personal touch. Witty. Pay attention to details. Very clean.
Rooms are a bit noisy, woken up by other room bathrooms. Bathrooms could do with some updating
Nice funky hotel, very friendly staff, nice little restaurant for anything from breakfast to cocktails
Loved everything about this hotel. It was a nice break from the corporate, box hotels. I highly recommend it!
Breakfast at Tart on Sunday morning was tasty but the service was terrible. I had chicken and waffles with one small piece of chicken on there, whist i saw another table get 3 pieces. The wrong coffee was brought out, and service was generally slow, dim, and really unhelpful. The place looked over staffed for the amount of customers and yet it took 10 minutes for them to work out who was actually allowed to take our order, even after we asked. It slightly soured our experience, but I prefer thinking about the place as a separate entity.
The girls at the front desk always made an effort to ask about our day, and were very very accommodating and friendly. The others around were fine but not as amazing as the girls at the front - so huge thanks to them. Loved the whisky tasting hour and the free cocktail initiative
The rooms could be a bit more designed for comfort. The bathrooms are pretty basic.
Outside design was nice and hip. Good to have a drink and wait for your friends.
Hard bed BUT Air conditioning astonishingly affective!!
Open yard Tart area Cookies Great air conditioning
Our stay was wonderful! We were there to get on the price is right, it was across the street, and we could see how long the line was. It was also across the street from the farmers market (really fun food!)and the grove. We were able to get everywhere else with Uber (highly recommended). The staff at the hotel and restaurant were really great and got us whatever we needed. Made the trip all the more enjoyable!
The bed just ok, but we're used to out Tempur-Pedic, so we're spoiled and we know it. There are hard surfaces everywhere--no carpet in the rooms or hallways--and add in pretty thin walls and this was a pretty noisy experience. Our room overlooked the courtyard and restaurant, which played music until 11 PM, so it's a good thing we're not the early to bed, early to rise types. If we were, we'd have been miserable.
The staff was great; they were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a cultivated quirkiness that's a nice contrast to the overwhelming sameness of corporate hotels.
Though this isn't really an issue, there were two different pool hours printed on materials in the room. I read one that said the pool closed at 9 PM, so I took a dip at 7 PM. I later found a card in the room that said the pool closes at 7. I may have overstayed my welcome in the pool! Wifi materials in the room may have been outdated. It indicated you either had to have a direct Ethernet connection or pay for wifi. Actually, free wifi is available. They may want to update the in-room printed materials.
The location across from the L.A. Farmer's Market at 3rd and Fairfax was great! Though it was a bit of a hike (1/2 mile?), it's walkable to Museum Row (LACMA, La Brea, etc.). Friendly staff, free whiskey in the evening, and a good restaurant next door make this an ideal place to stay.
The bed and pillows were not that comfortable
The design, details, uniqueness of the hotel. Bouti
Parking was expensive but we walked to the Grove right across the street.
I can't wait to return. Super clean, and fun! Themed decor. Staff was amazing.
Service at Tart, the onsite restaurant, is slow.
Good staff and upbeat people, from the parking attendants to room service.
Almost $500 for 2 nights and parking! Not a deluxe hotel.
Lots of people having a good time at Tart!
Noise level No bath
Location to Farmer's Market
That it ended all too soon. And I have wasted many vacations not staying at this lovely venue.
Top quality staff. Lovely setting, quainty cozy room. I shall return and suggest it to others.
The location was convenient. The outdoor patio was pleasant for breakfast. We didn't spend much time there as we were visiting friends who picked us up each day.
We have stayed here about a half dozen times, but it is our first stay in a room on the far side of the property. These are noisier and not as nice.
We love the location of the Farmer's Daughter, and have stayed here numerous times. The staff is always very nice and accommodating.
Valet parking is required if you have a car--no self parking...kinda pricey--you could probably Uber/Lyft anywhere you want to go so I would do a cost/benefit analysis and consider the # of people in your party (the more people, the more likely it makes sense for you to skip the car).
This hotel is fantastic. The location is absolutely perfect: we did the Hollywood Blvd, Getty Observatory, Runyon Canyon, Santa Monica + Venice Beach, Laugh Factory for a show and even ventured into Mar Vista for some fantastic ramen at Santouka and never spent more than 45 minutes driving (all the Hollywood stuff was 10-30 minutes). You also have a fantastic farmers market, trader joes, whole foods, 24 hour cvs, and luxury stores just steps away. The staff is SUPER friendly--like everyone. The maids, the front desk people, the valet. We accidentally left the "do not need cleaning services today" for the day and the staff called our room twice when we returned asking if we wanted services before the maids left at 6:00pm. The valet always brought out cars out promptly and were super friendly. You even got free drink tickets for cocktails for one evening as well as free cookies at the front desk. The hotel was clean and welcoming....I really don't have any complaints. For the price we got as well this was a total steal. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting LA.
The location !!
There was no kettle and the rooms were very dark. Lighting not very good. The wi-fi you have to relogin every day which was a major pain. Everytime I left the hotel and came back had to relogin.
Location was fabulous to the Grove the places to eat. The staff were very helpful and lovely to deal with.
