Friendly staff, retro design, very clean, close to Farmers Market and CBS and Sony Studios. Free bikes for leisurely ride through park and city. Perfect location for this trip!
WiFi was slow.
The design of the room
The construction work at 9am!
booking.com stated room was 3444sq ft, planed a birthday with several people to show up, room was only 350 sqft....nice with 20 people showing up, also called hotel BEFORE checking in as was told room was 3444sq ft by hotel staff....than was told tough luck
The convenience of Tart restaurant. Cookies and cocktails...great! We've stayed here many times. Still terrific location.
Need some softer pillows for us.
It is close to many things to do, cute, lots of character, friendly staff. The only complaint is that the beds are hard, sheets are not the best and they need a upgrade on their pillows. I'm a bed snob:), But I would for sure go back! Just hope they upgrade beds:)
Beds, Sheets and pillows. A bit hard and cheap feeling.
Loved the staff at the hotel and cute attached restaurant, the shared outdoor space, birds in the lobby, roomy rooms, comfy beds, thoughtful touches everywhere, location, price, all great for us.
I loved the atmosphere
Service at Tart was ok
I liked the location, the overall look and atmosphere. The staff were also very helpful. The bed and room was clean and tidy. I loved being across the Farmers Markets, as it is a great place to get breakfast in the morning.
The music in the courtyard at 7am. What is up with that??? Sure, music is great, but not at 7am, when you are on holiday! Although we wanted to do things, during the day, we planned on having a bit of a sleep in. Hearing the music at 7am, was just awful and brought my rating of the place down a bit.
Comfy bed. Whiskey tasting is a nice touch. Good location from The Grove and Original Farmers Market. Bottle of bubbles for our honeymoon. Free breakfast for mucking up our booking.
Lost our booking and took a day to figure out what to do. We had to get our bags and check out on the first night so we could check back in at 4pm with a newly finished room. TV didnt work in the new room and surrounded by rooms under construction - which started at 9am. Lobby music which spread throughout the hotel started at 7am for some peculiar reason. Staff were ok but not really too concerned with their stuff up.
Great location Friendly staff Cool extras
Expensive valet-only parking
Love the location, vibe, restaurant
Room cleaning and Internet service inconsistent
Located opposite the Farmer's Market and the Grove shopping precinct and walking distance to Los Angeles County Art Museum, with more art than can possibly be appreciated in one day. Bus tours and taxis draw up at the door. Half an hour taxi ride to LAX on a good day. Could see Hollywood sign from Hotel door. And delicious range of breakfast choices in their own restaurant 'Tart'.
The Location was Excellent. The Staff was Very Friendly and Knowledgable of the area and for Fun things to do.
The bed was kind of hard. Not very Soft.
I requested a room with two double beds, upon arrival the staff said there were no more rooms available with double beds. The staff had plenty of time to let me know of this in advance, plus they did not even apologize nor attempt to do anything about this. The rooms are old and noisy (windows are so old that you can hear everything from the street) and the walls are so thin you can hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms and the hallways. The heater was so noisy that it had to be turned off. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Lastly, in this day and age why would they keep caged birds in the lobby, especially in such a small cage???
Loved the details in the decor both inside the room and around the hotel. Updated, very clean, comfortable, super cute, and fun. Nice touches like Nespresso machines in the room, cookies, tea, and cider in the lobby. Great location across from the Farmer's Market and The Grove, next door to Trader Joe's. Tart restaurant attached was great too (esp. the crispy brussel sprouts!)
Would have liked better toilet paper, it was hard and scratchy. There was some construction (updating of other rooms) going on that was loud. Wifi was shoddy.
Overall appearance of the decor.
Free whiskey Very friendly and helpful staff
They didn't inform me of the free whiskey until the last of my 4nights there.
Great location and friendly staff.
I booked this room on Booking.com for one rate when I checked it they charged me a much higher rate. Manager told me it would be taken care of but I'm stealing dealing with them overcharging my credit card. Not fun!
Excellent location! We were going to The Price is Right and this hotel is located directly accross the street. It is also located near the Farmer's Market and The Groves Shopping district. You can walk there from this hotel. The hotel is decorated nicely.
The bathroom needed a new sink and a good detail cleaning.
Liked the staff and location close to CBS.
price. Hotel was outdated
Checkin procedure for early arrival could not leave bags but car was valet only requiring car to be summoned to get bags later. TV should be wall mounted and coffee needs convenient plug outlet.
Wonderful design to the rooms, excellent restaurant, perfect location net The Grove.
Nothing I didn't like.
Great location, and quaint rooms are quite charming.
The tub did not drain very well, but work is being done to improve that.
The Farmer's Daughter is a hipster-friendly spot that combines cozy comfort with chic styling. Rooms are smartly designed. Cozy beds (with, unfortunately, overly stuffed & uncomfortable pillows) with nice, heavy blankets. Nescafé machines & Tazo tea in room. A complimentary whiskey hour is offered in the lobby for guests in the evening. We're particularly big fans of Tart for brunch normally...even bigger fans of stopping in for late night bites & a nightcap as guests! Staff was congenial and helpful at all times.
enjoyed the atmosphere, front desk staff largely lovely(some more than others) location perfect
room cleaning inconsistent - beds made up fine but used glasses left out in room and coffee-making supplies not consistently replenished- but none of this a major issue dark lot area from front desk to rooms a little creepy to walk across alone at night as a single woman- a little more light there might feel ore comfortable
