Poor administration! As Booking.com records will show, reservations were made well in advance of trip, included advisement that arrival after 8PM, and needed "no smoking" room. However, when we arrived at 8:15 we were advised that someone had given our "reserved room" to someone else, but they did have 2 rooms available, one handicap room, and a smoking room. Since Shirley is recovering from hip surgery, we agreed to look at handicap room, rejected as disinfectant smell was so strong it hurt to inhale. Feeling a bit desperate we agreed to check smoking room, also rejected as stale smoke smell so strong it could be smelled over 6 feet from door. Clerk was apologetic, but totally unable to do more than issue full credit refund. The manager was never involved at all, even after it was obvious how upset we were. When the clerk was asked if they could help us find a room, she said there was nothing she could do. The response from Motel 6, Eric Harden, was an obvious polite brush-off. Will never stay at Motel 6, will never recommend them.
