Kind and professional people.
We should have stayed for the weekend. We didn't like leaving such a lovey play. Great front office people, doormen, concierge, house keeping etc.
Tub does not drain Toilet Clogs Ants in the bed Did not get the room I booked Bed was uncomfortable
Very good pool. Nice location near beach.
WIFI not available in room. Charges for WIFI. Most hotels now provide it free.
The location of The Fess was brilliant with beautiful views of the ocean. The garden and facilities were immaculate the room size for our family was appreciated.
Setting close to the shore and the sound of breaking waves in the distance.
Air conditioning not working. Could not sleep due to heat. Poor sound isolation. Guests staying above us decided to rearrange their furniture at 3 AM and we could hear it all and then at 7 AM came the running of their child thumping the floor. Not a nice experience at all.
location on the beach is fabulous
Eucalyptus building needs updating
Fresh baked Cookies, friendly staff. Attractive Lobby
Please let people know up front all the fees
The food was good, but when the coffee was brought, there were no saucers. When we asked, we were told the kitchen had closed at 10pm and they would not bring us saucers in what was a very expensive hotel. The beverage manager came to our table and she also said she could not do anything but took the coffee off the bill.Totally unacceptable, the least you expect is a cup and saucer!! Won't stay there again.
Close to the beach Nice swimming pool Clean
Pay for parking and wifi in the room. No breakfast included Expensive breakfast, food, and drinks
Incredible views with amazing architecture.
I felt the Showers could use a update.
Great location and hotel.
Rooms were a little dated
The location was perfect and the views were unbelievable. The staff was wonderful from the valet to the bartender to the cleaning staff. The pool was the highlight after walking 31 days in 2 days.
The location is decent and the size of rooms.
There weren't enough staff, the pool bar wasn't staffed so no opportunity to get even a soda. The 'care line' not answered more often than not and when it was answered the receptionist was surly and didnt send the key to the mini bar (why does a mini bar need a key?)This hotel is over priced for what it is and there are probably better places to stay, if you cant afford more upmarket, the local motels we saw looked really good most with pools and Im sure half the price of The Fess Parker
Location is excellent. We were given a garden view that included a view of the Pacific.
The hotel is a bit scruffy around the edges, with peeling paint, nicked door edges, etc. Also, I was served a Fess Parker Syrah that came in a wine glass clearly spotted and smudged. I was expecting a bit more attention to detail considering the history of this establishment.
I loved the location. The ocean view was spectacular.
We were in a building near the tennis facilities - it needed updating- our shower faucet was falling off the toilet seat has seen better days, the patio door was really hard to work, etc. -expected much better accommodations at this facility.
The room was a bit dirty, spider webs and dirty carpet. TV was not working so we had to wait for someone to come fix it. No vents in the showers either.
Location Staff Overall feel of the place Dog friendly
Needs a refit ie fresh up the carpets....
The location is good, right across from the beach and easy to get to.
We were woken up 3 times between 3:00-4:30am with trains rushing by, sounding their whistles, literally right outside our room. In addition to this, you must pay an additional $19 to self park, you must pay for use of the internet in the room even as a Hilton Hhonors member and the room was starting to look a little shabby. My family and I thought we were going to have a luxury experience and were very disappointed.
Warm cookies, informed bell boy, concierge, friendly manager. Staff was friendly.
Really dusty rooms & their dried pancakes.
Spacious room, nice pool, proximity to the beach, variety of onsite dining options, beautiful grounds, fantastic balcony/patio.
In need of repair- broken drawers, mini fridge/bar did not close properly, shower did not drain well, extremely loud fan/AC. Expensive parking. Near unsafe part of town with drug deals across the street and numerous homeless sleeping on the kids playground. For the price of a 5 star resort that we paid over holiday weekend, we received a 3.5 star amenities. When asked to extend check out just by 2 hours, we received a rude "no" and dishonest claim that they are fully booked that day (while showing availability for booking).
Valet gentlemen were courteous and remembered our last name for help with our car, grounds looked well taken care of, valet or self-park options available, dog-friendly, delicious room service.
Air conditioner in the room leaked, mini bar was 1/2 empty, hand prints on glass door from small child hand never cleaned our entire stay, light sconces missing in bathroom, pool staff never visited us for almost 2 hrs in cocktail patio by the pool yet made plenty of eye contact, scuffed up furniture throughout hotel, security door to the building of our room was broken and didn't require a room key (completely exposed to anyone who walked up from street/beach).
dirty room, run down
Love the garden view the fact that I could walk out and not in room so much. Nice
