The staff and location were wonderful. We really enjoyed the beach location. We will stay here again!

Our room looked like it needed updating. It was hard to turn on the shower and the water didn't stay hot.

I liked the service we received once we left the hotel. I forgot an item in the room and the security manager was incredibly helpful & respectful. He found the item and promptly mailed it to me at no charge. We also like the location of the hotel. It is located across from the beach/boardwalk and in a very quiet location. Although a bit of a walk to the nearest restaurant (15 minutes).

When booking the room through booking.com I asked for the hotel to provide a crib. When we arrived there was no crib in the room, and had to wait about an hour to get one. Not a big deal, but when you travel all day with a baby you really look forward to that crib in the room. In addition once we received the crib the crib did not have any bumpers and our baby kept getting it's legs stuck between the bars. The hotel ended up wrapping bed sheets through the bars to create a bumper, but she would just knock them back down. We ended up giving up on the crib and asked for a Pack & Play, the hotel does not have any. In the end we ended up having our little one sleep in our bed. A hotel of such caliber should have a couple of Pack & Plays on hand. If we could have had better nights of sleep we would have enjoyed this hotel a 100 times more. In addition we booked the room for two adults and one baby and only had a couple of towels, it was like the room wasn't restocked. The next day without asking we were provided with twice the number of towels.

Good location, good view from room, nice quality linen on bed, Nice open plan reception areas. General restaurant staff very pleasant.

The hotel's air-conditioning generator created a constant hum in our room (and in the corridors) - difficult to get to sleep. Don't stay in 204. Having gone to the front desk at 6:30am after a sleepless night and again to see the manager at 7:30am to complain their response was less than ideal - E.G. no one came up to the room to experience the problem. I didn't ask for the nights bill to be waived since the other two in my party sleep through, instead I said I'd leave it up the them to decide what they wanted to do. To their credit they waived the incidentals like 2 nights overnight parking and some small breakfast items but I think they missed the point - I had a bad night's sleep which is the major element of a stay - they didn't show much concern and now I'm writing this review.

The first time Iay down in the bed, a bed bug ran across my face. I killed the bed bug & researched it on google to make sure it was a bed bug . I had bites on my back. At first the hotel was reluctant to change my room. $375/night! I was creeped out! The original room was advertised as beachfront when in fact it was on the bottom floor facing a busy street with the water on the other side of the street.

Paying $20 for parking!!

I liked the room, the gardens, the restaurant facilities, and the pool though I did not use it.

I stayed in the building next to the main structure. The signs on the buildings were inadequate. Even with the help of a strong flash light I could not read them from the parking lot. The employees in golf carts were of no help. My room was upstairs. I had to walk all the way to the elevator and then double back on the upper floor. I generally think that a good hotel should include parking and internet connection in the price of the room.

Location

The carpets in the room and in the hallways leading to the room were filthy, the towel racks in the bathroom and vanity area were broken, and the bath tub was too disgusting to even take a shower and the handles/knobs on the shower were rusted and corroded. .

The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel was beautiful. When the guests nexkt door were unbearably loud, security handled it right away. Your staff was professional.

We were located next to the entrance/valet, which was a bit noisy. Our view was a tree, very close to us. Free wifi wasn't included...which is kind of ridiculous. You can go to any starbucks, not even buy a coffee and get free wifi. Your breakfast buffet was a bit pricey...$24 or $25/plate.

Had a room by an enterance door - the door was broken and kept slamming shut, waking us up until late into th evening and early in the morning. Asked for it to be fixed on several occasions but every night it would go back to slamming shut. Hotel did credit us some money back, but I thought we were suppose to be rested from a vacation - I am tired, ugh...

Liked firepit, the room was average, view obstructed.

The price for buffet was too expensive, and it appeared that the facility needs refurbishing however, liked the firepit.

Beautiful place with a perfect location. I love Santa Barbara and I will keep going there with my family every year.

Two complaints, charging my CC $150.00 as soon as I checked in without telling me was not very professional and the Second issue I had was charging your guests for parking is Rudd and Greedy abs that's the reason I will not be staying with you again. This is my honest feedback. Thank you

Friendly, attentive staff. Small details like power outlets in the end table lamps are a nice touch.

The general lobby/restaurant areas were very nice.

Room looked like construction was done before we got there but not cleaned. Room was run down. Needed to be fixed up. Not the best value for the dollar

Stayed in building so far away from main lobby & bar area may as well not have stayed there! No draught beer available! Rooms dark & dingy & tired. Beware of 'mountain view ' rooms we ended up looking at the car park!

Location is central as it is near 101 and State Street for restaurants and shopping. Rooms are large and beds are extremely comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful and right next to the ocean.

Have stayed there many times and it works great. Really no complaints.

Large pool, open later than other places. Wide, open feel due to resort layout. Close to the beach and the main street. Polite staff.

The pool was supposed to be heated to 80 degrees F, it was much cooler than that. The carpet needed replacement, the resort will be remodelled next year.

I loved the location, close to the wharf and downtown. Great view of the beach. THe rooms were large but I understand they will start remodeling next year--good!

The daily parking charge was a nasty surprise! The check-in was pretty messed up--we couldn't sign up for wifi because "we weren't checked in" they ran us again and gave us new keys.

Excellent service by everyone but the person in charge of getting rid of a ant problem. They need to be faster a this. The employees surprizing my husband with compted tickets for the buffet, etc. was a major plus idea. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful.they are well trained at great customer service !

Our room had ant's crawling up the corner of the wall and baseboard. We didn't discover this till early the next morning when we turned on a particular lamp that showed them. I went to the desk before we left for 2-3 hours and told them. When we got back I stopped and asked and they said it had not been done a yet. Later I stopped by again and asked and they said it had been sprayed. I don't like the smell of ant sprays. Since I was unhappy the desk clerk veronica (very nice person/employee) gave us another that still had a ocean view, etc. this was my husband's mile stone birthday and I wanted to treat him so special so this was an inconvenience. The only food we had in the room was the fresh cookies we were given on arrival and we ate them that first evening. We really don't feel that charging us for handicap parking is in poor taste.is it legal. What if we were dropped off and didn't have a car at fess parker's resort ?

Beautiful landscaping, location and architecture. Such a quiet, peaceful environment, yet so close to all the activities around the beach, harbor and downtown. We had the premium single story building, ocean view room, with a spectacular view.

The only area of complaint would be the need for attention to refurbish and update worn surfaces in the bathroom (tile, chipped and scratched wood on door, etc.). There were also areas that had not been dusted.

Why do I have to pay extra to use the internet in your room? We were 3 persons with 6 devices and had to pay for each device.
