Easy self parking, great location, friendly and helpful staff
The complimentary bikes are the best way to get around the city! Love the design of this hotel too. So cool!
It is central. The restaurant serves very good food. Parking options. We really enjoyed our stay there!
It had a bed
No refrigerator just ice box. The room smelled bad. Air conditioner didn't cool room and it was a hot day. The bathroom is ridiculously small. I would have rather stayed at motel 6,waste of money.
My husband and I loved being right across from the Tom McCall Waterfront Park, the Willamette River, and just a short walk from the restaurants on the river. Hotel Rose had very friendly and helpful staff, a lovely restaurant, and yummy pineapple cupcakes in the lobby every day around 3 pm. We loved the dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion in our bathroom--so much more environmentally kind than the small plastic bottles in most hotels. We also loved the complimentary bottle water and complimentary bicycles! Portland, in general, is a great city for walking, biking, and light- rail riding. We biked for a good 10 miles along the Williamette crossing back and forth on the Morrison and Hawthorne Bridges. This was our first time in Portland, and the cooler temps were awesome coming from our home in Tucson, Arizona. We'll be back!
Our sleep was somewhat compromised by a strange squealing noise throughout the night. Maybe the elevator? We didn't mention it to the front desk because it wasn't a big issue. Those who are light sleepers, however, might have a problem.
A/C wasn't adjustable.
very rude and unprofessional management
Location. Renovations are nice overall.
Only one elevator in operation. Housekeeping staff had the elevator full most of the morning. Getting to the garage from the 4th floor with luggage required watching 3 elevators full of staff go by my floor before I could get on. Renovations are not quit completed. New wall unit drawers kept opening up. Drove me crazy. I had a roll of packing tape with me, so I taped them shut.
We ate in the restaurant 3 times. Once the service was good and twice it was really slow with mistakes on orders. For the most part the food was great.
Location is great for downtown Portland activities like the brewrest.
The associated restaurant was really slow.
Older hotel but mostly updated. The fantastic staff made the visit extraordinary.
Freshly renovated, complementary WiFi, good location
Loud Noise from the street, shower
friendliness of staff. Free cold bottled water at entrance.
Table and decorations in elevator lobby
Everything looked new! Cheap parking, and free wi-fi.
Very helpful and friendly service; location was excellent; room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable;
Restaurant was a bit over priced
We've stayed here many times-last time was last summer. We love this hotel. The rooms are excellent in every way-decor, cleanliness, shower, beds, etc. We love the location, central to downtown and shops. We always have had a great experience here, even when the name was a different name-Hotel Fifty and the name before that.
We thought the restaurant shouldn't charge for refills. I ordered coffee and it was $3 as I rcall. The menu said $8 for 3, as I recall. I assumed that was for refills. I think free coffee refills should be a given. Charging extra for refills is really chintzy. I was never offered a refill either. Disgruntled coffee lover.
The bed was very comfortable.
During our stay in 80+ degree July weather, our air conditioning was not on when we arrived, and the in-room thermostat did not appear to work. When we turned the indicator to a low temperature nothing happened. After one night of poor sleep, we inquired at the desk, and the attendant explained that we needed to turn the thermostat all the way up until we heard the air click on. There was no posting in the room to indicate this, and the use should have been explained on arrival.
We parked on Friday and spent most of the weekend on foot. The location is close to most places we like to visit. Very clean, staff was super friendly and really helpful.
Close to everything, great views next to the river. Free bikes to use. Nice lounge at hotel. Staff great!
Busy holiday weekend made it difficult to park in the hotel garage.
update of room decor and restuarant
Room was small. The light rail ran right by every 10 to 15 minutes and it was pretty loud. The guest computer was so slow I couldn't get boarding passes printed.
The bedding and linens were really nice and robes are in room.
The lobby was still under construction, which would have been nice to know before hand. The parking/entrances could be better labeled from the street.
location and value
the restaurant/bar was still being remodeled. it did not put a damper on the weekend.
We really like how clean the room was. It was well kept and the staff was extremely helpful and comforting. The location was prime! This experience was a really good one. We'll definitely be back.
There was construction in the lobby. This was not a major issue.
Location! Near shopping and restUrants, and easy access to the highway
The showers had no doors, so the floor got pretty wet.
