I picked the hotel for its central location for ease to get around the city. It's staff was very friendly and helpful. There was no desk in my room and had to work off my bed which was not too easy.

The location of this hotel is very neat. Close to everything in the downtown. Also the hotel staff were fine and helpful. Stayed in single, the room was actually too small, but the worst thing was lack of clean air in the room, with just one small window, facing the inside walls of the building and no conditioner/fan or something

The room was nice. It was very small, but it was nice overall. The bathroom looked great, and the shower worked very well. The location seemed very sketchy, but I had no problems with anyone. There is no hotel lobby, but most of the people at the front desk were nice. The room was very small but was nice overall. The "free breakfast" is a joke: it involves random packages of bread products with huge jars of peanut butter and cream cheese. The fruit tasted fine, but there is no way to know how fresh it is. There is a Subway around the corner; I would go there for breakfast.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating and were very responsive when asked to do anything. The hotel was very close to all the attractions and the room was clean and comfortable. I would stay there again as overall it was very good value for the money. The breakfast facilities were poor. The room was too small for the number of guests using it and the breakfast was not really up to standard. I had difficulty every morning in accessing the toaster due to the number of people in a small area and one morning there were no clean cups available so I could not make a coffee. Knives were limited and the guests left them sticking into the margarine and spreads which is not very hygienic. The breakfast consisted of toast and muffins with some cut up fruit and coffee, tea and juice available. On my last morning I opted to go to a cafe to ensure I got a filling breakfast as I was traveling that day. I would prefer that they indicate there is no breakfast than deliver the breakfast they did. (Other hotels of similar price provided a much better breakfast buffet with eggs, sausages and baked beans etc.) The room shown on the internet was not the room we were given and was much smaller than the room shown.

Location and avilability/ All the Hotel rooms in San Francisco were booked because of a big meeting. Wall paint in the bathroom was peeling; 2 bulbs were out; no air conditioning; hair dryier was not working. Room was really small.

Excellent location for the price. Staff helpful and friendly. I was given one of those rooms with a connecting door (albeit locked) to the next room. Nonetheless it is almost like sharing a room with your neighbours, there's no real privacy. Important not to be given such a room. Only then would I stay there again.

Location is the only thing that you may like I've been provided by a tiny room, stuffy, almost with no ventilation, dark. A really tiny wardrobe too, so probably a better idea to keep your clothes in your case. My only window was facing the inner space of the building - more like a shaft, where some aircon unit was operating. I also had a refrigerator in the room which if you don't turn off you'll not be able to sleep, and that's after some 20 hours of flight to San Francisco. I wouldn't recommend this hotel except for the location. Pricing is not fair and they just cannot be offering the rooms I got, I'd bet it was an employee-only closet before or something.

Conveniently located. Staff was friendly. Rooms were small, cramped. Not even enough room in the bathroom for my toothbrush -- had to use the ice bucket to store toiletries on the top of the toilet tank. The alley out back was extraordinarily loud, with party-ers at the nightclub out back till 2am, and then a garbage truck driving through every morning at 5:30. For $100 / night, I did better at the Fusion last year.

Staff was helpful & friendly; neighborhood is lively and fun. Older hotel with old San Francisco feeling. Our room fronted on Post Street, which, it turns out, is a pretty 'happening' place on a Friday night. It didn't quiet down until about an hour after the bars closed (quiet by 3 am). Since it's an older hotel, the windows aren't double-paned glass so the street noise came right into the room (4th floor). This is a city, though, and one has to expect that sort of thing in a neighborhood with a lot of night life. I would imagine the rooms down the side or in the back would be quite a bit quieter.

The situation of the hotel is great and the WiFi worked ok. The rooms are really small, just the bed fits in the room, there is no desk to work. Furniture is old and the room could be cleaner. Not a good deal regarding the price. The breakfast is ridiculous, bread and jam.

Price/quality ratio was resasonable at my rate ( advanced purchase with 24 h free cancellation), location seems good, although I would not recommend the hotel for business travellers as one cannot work in the room (no desks although WIFI), and all rooms of a reasonable size are exposed right to a very noisy street and noise isolation ( windows, walls) is not good enough. My room had a reasonale size but singles are too (VERY) small. No desk to work in the room ( although WIFI), even no space to put laptop on. Very noisy street especially by weekends and Fridays. No tea set at all.

I like the location, as it's very close to Union Square. The staff was also very friendly, and helped us whenever they could (with info, arranging shuttle, key not working, etc). Although the hotel looks shabby on the outside, the Queen room was decent (smaller than what you'd expect), but with a nice comfy bed, en-suite bathroom, coffee machine - pretty much all I needed for a 1-night stay. I totally hated the smell - when they gave me the room, the window was open, so I couldn't feel anything. I closed the window and left. When I came back to the room later, there was this horrible smell (like crap+something else I couldn't identify). Not very very strong, but you could unfortunately still smell it.. And I had run out of incense sticks... Gosh, I totally hated it, but it was too late to change the room then. The view is also not so nice. The Breakfast was a joke - some jam, bread and coffee/tea. But I hadn't come for the breakfast.. The Single room is kinda bad, small (with only 1 bed plus a small table I think) and no other furniture in it.
