maid forgot to clean room change sheets and towels
This hotel has a certain charm that cannot be quantified. The amenities within the room (refrigerator, microwave, large bathroom) were more than adequate. You can easily be "filled up" at the price-included breakfast, and all the food was fresh!
The room had no airconditioning or even a fan. San Francisco was humid and it made the room very warm.
Very good continental breakfast.
Very nice location. On the weekend it can be a bit loud outside, but that should be obvious in such a central location. The Hotel is probably not ideally isolateg against noise, but that you cannot expect for the fair price it has.
Long walk to the F.
Room was a bit stuffy/hot. Sometimes only one facecloth provided. Could have used another pillow. But these are details from an overall great experience!
Great location. Several tour companies will do pick ups and/or drop offs at this hotel. Airport shuttle available (but make sure the shuttle you select is early enough!). Breakfast was excellent! Good value for your money.
Rooms were a lot smaller than we had imagined from the pictures, and the beds so small it was a challenge for those who were sharing a room. Since we were gonna spend most of the time at a conference we figured we didn't need a single room for everyone, but it became an intimate experience. The rooms weren't properly cleaned as we found trash under the beds when we arrived. The lobby might have made a joke, but when we asked if the cleaning personnell were to be trusted they said to hide the valuables. You could hear people walking/talking in the hallway quite easily, (so the same from your room to the hallway). The pipes as well whenever someone took a shower. Also that couple that liked to do morning excercise before 6 AM.
Location was quite good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wifi was surprisingly good for hotel-standard. Hotel allowed us to utilize both theirs and the neighbouring hostel for areas to work at.
possible bed bugs
price and location
I needed decent ensuite facilities at a central location at an affordable price for a single person, and this did the job. Room was small but quite adequate for a single night stay. Inclusive breakfast was also a bonus.
The wifi connection was free, but unfortunately not available the days we were there.
Loved the location in San Francisco; it made getting out to explore and getting back the hotel very simple.
Tiny Room Some people broke the window of my car and stole my luggages (My car was parked just in front of the hotel)
one thing was the bathroom window didn't lock so we put a stick in the window just in case.
I booked last minute & paid $87 for a room with a double size bed, the room was very small but since we were only sleeping & getting dressed in it we didn't mind. The room was clean but you can tell its old but again that's to be expected in this area. There is an overnight parking garage about a block away for $16 at for area hotel guests.
-Elevator doors are hard to handle by one person when you are carrying bags and luggage -The room I stayed needs a thorough vacuum cleaning. I saw some scattered small debris on the carpet
-Great location and very strategic for my business activities -The availability of breakfast -The availability of maps and information in the receptionist desk
Breakfast. Only stuff full of sugar. No meat, eggs, etc.
The elevator :)
Hotel is too old Bed is uncomfortable
Not a complaint, rather an opinion: There was street noise; which I expected. Being on 3rd floor lessened it. Perhaps at the back would be better.
We had no kitchen so no opinion re that. Microwave worked. I liked the charm of the building - Edwardian design & the decor to echo that. Elevator was a hoot - one wanted to "announce" the floors. Location was fine - access to cabs, bars, restaurants, not far from bus service. Staff were pleasant & helpful. The house bar nice, breakfast adequate. I would stay again.
Noisy, Old facility, Poor WIFI access, Not Clean etc.
Only a short walk from Union Square, the centre of San Francisco, this hotel features period fittings, hallway chandeliers with all the modern comforts.
Noisy. Room facing road.
Pillows were worn out, mattress had a sink hole in center. Not comfy
Location, vintage look.
funky old lift...
very comfortable room
rooms too small, limited breakfast options
