For the price it was great! Would definitely stay here again!
Located in the center of the city. Comfortable room. Excelent breakfast.
Old building. A little bit noisy street (cars, buses, etc)
No AC in room Small rooms
Small friendly hotel, just two blocks from Union Square, they have a great wine bar , thats small but fun .Next door is an award winning Italian restaurant.Lots of good cheep eats in the area.
The room was small but its what i booked. The street can be a little noisy but hey your in downtown SF you can walk to everything.
Reasonably quiet and situated for a general purpose vist to SF. Microwave, refridge, wifi.
A little noisy at times but not all that bad.
Everything about the place.was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.was rated way above status. Would give it a wide birth if looking for accomodation.
Rooms need a face lift
Decor - heavy Asian sub-continent design in a place called The Fitzgerald? Drab breakfast offerings, chintzy soap, towels removed but not replaced. Phone with a constant flashing message light. Exterior noise late at night and early in the morning.
Staff were very helpful and location was good. Breakfast was good but you had to turn up early otherwise things started to run out.
Room was small and stuffy (with ceiling fan that you needed on most of the time and that was in November!). Décor and furniture was tired and the hotel was a bit creaky.
The hotel is in a great locatin. The room was clean and very comfortable.
Breakfast would be a bit more various
Good WiFi access easy access to Union Square
Tiny, small room, thin walls. Bed was not clean Breakfast
The staffs have fairly poor attitude, especially the lady.
the location is great, really in the city centre. Given the prices of hotels in San Francisco this was a good price-to-quality ratio. Breakfast was ok.
Didn't get much sleep because the walls are so thin you hear everything, the smell in the room was a bit funny and the rooms are really small. Also, after the first visit by the cleaning ladies an extra toothbrush appeared, we threw it away but the next day it was there again and one of ours was missing. Weird.
Location ambience cleanliness, reasonable price onsidering the SF location. Personable staff.
Useful advice on parking would have been nice.
Ideal location. Ideal price, especially for location. Value for money. Quaint and quirky! ! Excellent breakfast.
Room was hot and very noisy. Did not get a good night's sleep.
If you need a cheap and lousy hotel the location is good! Union Square and transportation to anywhere with anything you like is near (like the Powell station).
I would not go again. The room was smelly, breakfast was a joke and the cleaner left her/his used plaster in our table while cleaning. The staff is not that friendly and you do not get even a hello. Bathtub also leaked, window was broken in half and the coffeemaker was broken.
The old charm and elevator
Needed so freshing up
The best thing about this hotel is the location. Only 5 min walk from Union Square and about 10 min from Market street where you can find public transport to anywhere. The hotel is designed to let you feel you're in visiting San Francisco in 1930's. The staff were nice and helpful.
There is no air condition and if you visit San Francisco on a week of a heat wave is can be a bit unpleasent. But the cealing fan is doing an OK job.
It was very clean.
The room at the end of the hall was right on the street level, on a busy alley and had wrought iron grates so people couldn't climb into the window. The bars were busy til 2:00, people walking the alley and shouting. Then the parking lot attendants showed up at 4:00 AM shouting back and forth. There was NO SLEEP. Attendants were lackadaisical at best.
The location is 2 blocks from Union Square. One of the less expensive hotels in that area.
The small petite double room was very stuffy even with windows open.No air circulation. The front desk person refused to start check in until the exact time...but first walked away from the desk with 5-6 parties all waiting to check in.
Location was good.
The noise from the street!
Small room. Really noisy (elevator, showering in the room next to you, etc.).
Lovely, comfortable room, quiet despite being in the heart of SF.
The cost of parking at the nearby garage was higher than they told me it would be.
Great location, Free breakfast, Pretty clean
Staff was not very welcoming, Room wasn't ready at check-in time, Bed wasn't comfortable, There was noise all night so it was hard to sleep, The AC did not work so it was crazily hot all night
