Great location! Couldn't find any other room-city was very busy that weekend. Price was way high for the room but I was glad to be so near to Union Square and the stores. I think I lived at this location about 48 years ago-it was the Post Residence Club-brought back many great memories.
Room was very small-view was of a wall. No fresh air. Small bed. It was called a petite room and petite it was-barely any room for anything other than the bed.
I was going to say staff, until I'd been there a day. Check in staff was great and at least tried to be helpful. On the second afternoon at 3:30 came back to find room still not made up. On final day came back about 1:00 (I had arranged for late check out), was greeted by name by desk staff and when I got up to my room found I had been locked out! Had to go back to desk (down the horrible elevator) to ask for a new key to get in. I had been locked out because I came back more than an hour past the check out time of Noon. Clerk argued with me about the late check out and was very rude but my biggest complaint was why did he let me go all the way upstairs to find a locked door!
Everything! Bed was hard and uncomfortable; no place to sit in room; VERY noisy water pipes (sounded like a waterfall next to my head everytime someone used the water next door); VERY loud and small elevator that closed on your arm whenever you got in (a double door system, have to open outside door, brace that with your arm and pull heavy grate back and try to get in before one or both slam on you); no ice bucket in room; no way to turn off blinking message light on phone; TV didn't work when I first arrived and had to wait several hours for someone to come fix it; terrible water pressure; "conditioning" shampoo left my hair like straw; no way to set time on clock (previous guests must have had the same problem since it was blinking the incorrect time); couldn't close bathroom window; very stuffy room but couldn't reach cord for ceiling fan. My back is still killing me and I have a bruise on my arm where the elevator door hit me as I struggled to get my suitcase into the elevator with no way to brace the door.
Motel, very small; breakfast is not good
check out person was helpful
breakfast was not very good. check in person was not pleasant. The on-line change in reservation was not updated by the hotel.
The hotel is well located.
Bad reviews of this place must be from nit pickers. I had a wonderful experience. I would stay here again for sure.
Not really anything bad. If i really must complain. I guess i could say, i could have had some cereal at breakfast. Thats it.
Bed was good Clean room Staff was friendly and helpful when needed Breakfast was as expected
Location is at the limit in between the good streets and the "not so good" ones. A lot of homeless people around The staff doesn't check if you are staying there or not whenever you arrive.
I loved the beautiful light, and plants on each floor. The wine bar was so convenient and had a classy selection. The hosts and employees were friendly and helpful. My room had a great vibe and was exceptionally clean. I could easily walk all over, or walk right to the BART. The price was the best around. The personal details and decorative community room with a large kitchen were very nice while away from home. Beautiful views as well...
Location to City center
No secure parking, alternative was very expensive
Staff are extremely helpful, the decor was quirky and the rooms were spotless. Very central location close to Union square.
Noisy at front of building - this is a standard complaint from San Francisco ( it's a noisy city) so suggest a room at the back
Perfect Location Gentle Staff
Poor Breakfast Old Uncomfortable Bed No Air Conditioning Overpriced
Cheap, comfortable, good location, good beds, average breakfast, friendly staff.
The shower was complicated to use. I had to ask a staff to show us how to make it work. After that everything went fine.
Quaint, 1950s-style, cosy, perfect location, excellent helpful staff, substantial breakfast
For the price it was great! Would definitely stay here again!
Located in the center of the city. Comfortable room. Excelent breakfast.
Old building. A little bit noisy street (cars, buses, etc)
No AC in room Small rooms
Small friendly hotel, just two blocks from Union Square, they have a great wine bar , thats small but fun .Next door is an award winning Italian restaurant.Lots of good cheep eats in the area.
The room was small but its what i booked. The street can be a little noisy but hey your in downtown SF you can walk to everything.
Reasonably quiet and situated for a general purpose vist to SF. Microwave, refridge, wifi.
A little noisy at times but not all that bad.
Everything about the place.was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.was rated way above status. Would give it a wide birth if looking for accomodation.
Rooms need a face lift
Decor - heavy Asian sub-continent design in a place called The Fitzgerald? Drab breakfast offerings, chintzy soap, towels removed but not replaced. Phone with a constant flashing message light. Exterior noise late at night and early in the morning.
Staff were very helpful and location was good. Breakfast was good but you had to turn up early otherwise things started to run out.
Room was small and stuffy (with ceiling fan that you needed on most of the time and that was in November!). Décor and furniture was tired and the hotel was a bit creaky.
The hotel is in a great locatin. The room was clean and very comfortable.
Breakfast would be a bit more various
Good WiFi access easy access to Union Square
Tiny, small room, thin walls. Bed was not clean Breakfast
The staffs have fairly poor attitude, especially the lady.
