Staff were nice and efficient.

Continental Breakfast had stale bagels.

The staff made the stay the most enjoyable, the room was very nice.

Not that it really mattered, but the Televisions were very old and small, the one big TV in the main room had a terrible picture, would be nice if they updated these.

It was a swanky little hotel in a great location.

The bed was hard, we felt like we were sleeping on pure flat boards!

I regularly stay here. The location is perfect both for Mamhattan midtown business and for those that like the hustle bustle of Times Square. The rooms are enormous for ny city. Nothing fancy, plain rooms, but big beds, crisp linen, decent bathrooms. Some people have moaned 'only three lifts for a hotel this size, I had to wait over a minute', I don't join them, to wait 1 minute occasionally (as often it's ten or twenty seconds) in exchange for all the plusses is just not an issue, not at all. The bar is okay, food is okay, but I wouldn't rave about that, and in Manhattan only the dull stay in! For the price you absolutely will not find better (well, that depends on what you pay, rates fluctuate, but normally this hotel runs pretty cheap). Front desk staff very nice, (and I have stayed in Manhattan 'snob label' hotels where they look down on the guests, not here!) younwill not go wrong with Flatotel.

I particularly liked the good desk and the comfortable desk chair. The room was spacious--especially for a New York hotel--and had a good bed.

I enjoyed the large and spacious room and contemporary bright bathroom.

I did not enjoy the poor lighting at the desk and the overall lighting in the main room . The television was small, very old and far from the bed, the signal was poor and choice of channels was not up to par.

Room was spacious...had a hot-tub...was expecting a standing shower but the lady and I enjoyed it. :) Pillows were comfy!!! Damn!!!!! Great view over random buildings. Heater was on when we checked in so walking into a warm room felt great especially if youre from Miami like us. The concierge fellow was kind enough to store our bags when we checked out so that my girlfriend and I can ice skate before leaving nyc. I didn't really interact with the staff but the guy at the front desk was cool. Location of hotel is perfect!! Diners close by. Central park down the street. Hot dog stand on the corner. Can't cOmplain

Modern decor, location, inexpensive.

Very large spacious rooms. Clean. Great location.

Elevators took forever. Staff somewhat confused at checking. Took 3 try's to get correct room I booked!

The location was excellent. Most value for price-location.

They charged my for packages I received. I never had to pay for received packages in other hotels (in this one I paid USD 45 total because some packages were large). Far too much of what I consider reasonable (more than shipping costs) The last two days (out of 9) my room smelled like smoke, although I was in a non-smoking floor. It seemed to come from the ventilation

The greeting at the reception, concierge and the restaurant very welcoming.

the cleanliness, the carpet very dirty, the sink and the bathtub not clean the nightlight not working, generaly the lighting in the room extremely dark.
