I liked the overall modern look of the room and the location of the place. Very convenient to go to Wynwood and the beach.
You had to keep on logging back in and forth for the wifi. Took us some time to find the manager to get to our room. She was a very sweet lady.
I called two hours in advance to let the staff / managment know we were on our way as i found a lot of comments and reviews online it was hard to get in to the building. Three times nobody picked up. Then a young girl said just go there and ring the bell. Again i asked if somebody would definitely be there as i only had the rest of the afternoon and evening with my family. We arrived at the house - 20 rings later, 15 min and 4 phonecalls ... Nobody there ! Then a really old cleaning lady opened the door in spanish and asked what we wanted. Thank god we speak spanish ! She started screaming a girls name. They only had 1 app left. On the 3rd floor, no elevator. So we asked if there was anything else they could do for us. They gave us a clean modern room on the first floor under the stairs. Mind you. No towels, no sheets, no toilet paper. Again had to asked for that. No papers to sign nothing. No info about parking or check out. All of us needed to shower. Now, i fainted in the bathroom. There is no ventilation and the window was stuck. This is a MAJOR health violation ! Its extremely dangerous. The shades were have broken and staying on the first floor this bothered me cause everybody could look inside. Its not a completely safe neighborhood ! The next day i woke up covered in a rash aswell as my partner. Now 1 week later this rash has turned into blood bubbles and discusting scars! Nobody slept that 1 night. Of course . We were on the first floor ! Talking, partying, singing, fighting, 42 trips with luggage ... Jep thats what we heard all night. In the morning again nobody was there. We left at 8am cause we had to catch our flight. We didnt sign anything, dont have any proof of the bill or how they were going to charge us ! We called 3 times. No answer. No call back. This was a cheap night but not up for repeat.
There was a large flat screen television; the only plus!
The facility was very small and old; the bed was like a box with a thin mattress; I didn't know I needed to bring soap to wash my hands or take a shower; NEVER AGAIN!
Good location. Close to the airport and close to the beaches.
Dirty floor. Tiny bathroom. Flimsy door. I did not feel comfortable leaving valuables in the room. The pictures look much better than the actual place.
Good value for the money, not too far from downtown and Miami Beach. Realized last moment before departure that I needed the invoice, that was organized, but had to wait until the office was open which is not before around 11:00 am. Locally stuff speaks mainly Spanish, but the office stuff is helpful in case if communication in English is needed.
WiFi: followed the instructions as provided in the room, but this did not work. Stayed 5 nights, it was never cleaned (probably one should explicitly request).
location was good, and the kitchet was stocked.
theres no parking. only parking avaialble is on the street and theres a risk of getting towed if you park in the wrong spot
Very clean and affordable option for a vacation rental in heart of Miami. The free parking was a major plus, internet was fast, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. We loved the updated and cute rooms. They were large and fully stocked with everything we needed for our vacay! We got a great deal on the place and were happy to have the daily housekeeping and a really sweet staff.
Pictures do not reallly show how bad this hotel is
All the stuff except for shower tub
the temperature of water jumps from extremely hot to freaking cold
Location as could walk to AA Arena and Bayside or catch the free trolley bus. Great free parking just ouside. Free wifi, room excellent and great value for Miami. Would recommend it and use again.
Location, flat itself was cozy, kind hearted housekeeper
internet sessions limit on wifi, kitchen equipment lacked many items, the householder doesn't speak very good english
Hard to get parking
Great option for an apartment with lots of space and a full kitchen. The parking was convenient and free. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area . Quiet place in quiet area. Very nice stay. Clean, comfortable, reasonably priced.
We were happy with our stay so nothing we didn't like
Located at NE26 Street, off Biscayne Boulevarde, the accommodation is well serviced by public transport, and away enough from the downtown area for a quiet sleep. We walked downtown, but there is also a bus stop nearby to take you to downtown. We took the J bus from NE 36 street and Biscayne Blvd (10 blocks north) to the MIA airport when we departed. It costs only $2.25. The manager resides in apartment 2, and is friendly. There is a laundry with washing machines and dryers in the building. It costs $1.50 in quarters to use each machine. The apartments have a full kitchen which is great. Very comfortable and spacious apartment. They also have air conditioning. Good value for money.
Lots of space Quite location and from other guests Staff very helpful Free parking Free wi fi
Very cute and affordable place to stay. Considering the incredible location we thought it was a bargain. Rooms were very nicely updated and big. We checked out a few rooms when we got there and everything was really nice and clean. Everything is the unit like the stove, air conditioner, hair dryer and refrigerator worked perfectly. We had really hot water and great water pressure too. My husband enjoyed the large flatscreen TV and I liked having a full kitchen in the apartment to cook up a quick meal. We were in town for a Miami Heat game and it was fantastic that the American Airlines Arena was just a few blocks up the street. We ended up walking over since it was so close to the apartments and we just left our car in front of the Fortuna House since it was free and really easy to park there. There was a beautiful outdoor waterfront shopping center on the way up to the Arena called Bayside. Restaurants and setting are just exactly what we were looking for on our trip to Miami. Overall, had a great time!
Nothing bad to say - we enjoyed our stay
This was an excellent choice for our group. Our friends also booked a few rooms here and we all had a great stay. The staff was really nice and gave us some great dinner recommendations and went overboard in getting us all we needed. We had asked for some extra towels and comforters when we got there and they were very happy to bring it and we also noticed that they had the dresser already stocked with extra stuff. The kitchen was fully stocked and we made ourselves breakfast in the morning before heading out to the port of miami, which was 2 minutes away. The rooms looked exactly like the online pics and were super spacious and clean. The location was excellent since we were able to walk around the downtown shops and restaurants which we just a few blocks away. We all agreed we would definitely like to come back here for a longer stay.
Great stay! Nothing not to like!
The concierge who welcomed us was a very nice old lady, who unfortunately didn't speak English :-) We loved the cats that she keeps outside, and we also loved the ducks that hang around with the cats on the sidewalk in front of the building entrance! So picturesque! We also liked that there was a walk-in between the room and the bathroom.
The building looks nice from the outside, but the design and architecture on the inside is totally different and quite old. This is an old place that was refurbished into hotel apartments. It was smelling Marijuana in the hallway, all the time. The rooms were not as nice as in the pictures. We visited 3 different rooms until we found the 4th one to be the most acceptable. It was very clean, but so humid and damp. The A/C was old and noisy. The bathroom had no ventilation spot, and the window was blocked! The image on TV was blurred on all stations. The neighborhood is not wonderful, looks poor and not so secure... This place does not deserve a 3* rating. 2* or 2 and a half would be more appropriate. It's definitely not worth the $82.5 (+tax) per night that we've paid. If you're looking for beauty, comfort and nice neighborhood, don't go there!
location was convienient
old poorly renovated building, you could hear loud noise all-night from within and outside the building , it was advertised with parking, the parking was anywhere you could find on the street, dead cockroaches on the floor and in the hallway, most of the time the main door to the street was unlocked so anyone could walk into the building from the street, there are much better value for money alternatives available in the area. Advertising for these premises is misleading to say the least.
The building and apartments are beautiful. They toured us around when we got there and saw 5 apartments that we got to choose from. I loved that ! They actually cared to have us choose our unit and make us feel comfortable. The rooms looked true to the pictures on their website and were all really clean, bright & fresh looking. The linens and towels smelled amazing and the bed and sofa were comfortable. The rooms are certainly larger than most hotel rooms and it was quiet in the building so we were able to relax and feel at home. The location was on a quiet residential street yet really close to downtown Miami so it was perfect. We got to South Beach in 5 minutes and we also had the American Airlines Arena and Midtown Shops just a few blocks away. There were some beautiful outdoor walking areas there with lots of shops and hip restaurants. We called the hotel number a few times for some general questions and they were super helpful and attentive. The parking was easy and always available at all hours so that was a major plus since hotels usually charge $50 per night in Miami and this was absolutely free at the Fortuna House. They clean your room only if you leave the housekeeping sign on your door so we liked that because we prefer privacy most of the time. The wifi was fast and free! This was a really great apartment rental and we would definitely stay here again. Price was also unbeatable !
All was great
I only part that I liked was the front of the building and what a let down when I went inside the building.
While the lady was friendly we had a hard time communicating, as it would appear that she did not speak much english...The studio was o.k. as we were only staying for that night, could not wait until the morning came....I freaked out when I saw the bars on the windows..the room was clean, other than that could not wait to get out of there...also was not impressed with the area.
Location was good Kitchen and everything inside was fair enough
A/C is very bad for 4 people not sure for 2 ppl No elevator Small room for 4 ppl
I loved the place!
One thing that needs to be upgraded is their staff. They had a little old lady that didn't speak English. Good thing that we understood her language(Spanish).
close to major areas of miami.
