The check-in guys were really nice.
Our toilet began to overflow from the top (the tank not the bowl) in the middle of the night. we called down and all they did was send up a guy who threw towels on the floor to mop up the water. Nothing else at all. The toilet did it again while we were sleeping. I wish we had been awake to call down.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our first room had a double bed missing from some party animals breaking it and gentleman who assisted us was very apologetic and upgraded us to queen double beds with a city view. The beds were very comfortable!!
I love my chat with the night manager and a worker there. They taught me what it means to be a New Yorker. And the place is nothing bad unless you are a nit-picker.
The location was good, the staff was excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable. A little more than two blocks to 23rd street subway stop on 7th Ave. Upper floors have good views. We had two rooms on 20th floor, both had great views on Empire State and Chrysler buildings.
Not much in this block, although restaurants and groceries, etc...were all within 1-2 blocks.
I loved the service at this hotel. They cheerfully tried to accommodate every request, from suppplying hairspray when I ran out, to stocking our room with free water and coffee everyday. They were wonderful. We also enjoyed the in-house restaurant and bar, as well as the recommended Malibu Dinner a couple of blocks down 7th Ave. on 23rd St. The shopping in the neighborhood is great! We loved the deals we found at Burlington Coat Factory, CVS is just down the block as well as Whole Foods and some very nice wine stores. All in all, it was a spectacular NYC vacation!
They don't use fitted sheets! Take safety pins if you don't like waking up on the mattress!
All and all very good experience and friendly staff. Special plus for Anthony who was extremely helpful and available for any questions.
Room was too slow. No breakfast. There is no activity in hotel. U come and sleep thats all. Price was high when we were there, I check 1 day later it was dropped almost to half of it.
if you want to stay in chelsea, this is a nice spot. i'd rate it close to a 4 star. quiet and efficient service. staff was very helpful and friendly. room was clean, free bottled water & wifi, starbucks and subway 2 blocks away, chelsea market it bit farther, but easy walk. we booked with a nice discount.
Comfortable Good price for the money
Not the cleanest Small rooms
Subway was easy to use and very close Staff was friendly, professional Bed was comfortable Room was clean Good linens Central location easy to get everywhere
Lobby needs updating - looks shabby Elevator carpets and common hall areas need cleaning Elevator security system not working ever Lack of security in general - how does front desk know who is going up and down the floor?
Location, clean, price
Nothing not to like!
WiFI excellent. Big beds. Central position
Too much noise from the street. Too expensive for my standard.
The service, the bed and the coffee.
Wifi connection was pretty slow.
The staff were very kind and helpful. The wi-fi was working almost perfect and free. The cleaning was not very good but still ok. The location is for us perfect, but it depends on what you want to make in the city. For us it was the heart of manhattan, you can walk everywhere or it takes max.15 mins with bike.(you don't need to use the subway.)
The rooms are very small. The hotel is old. It was first time for me, i stayed in a 3 star hotel. But i believe, comparing to a 3 star hotel the price was very high; and comparing to a that expensive hotel the standarts, comfort and the facilities were very poor. But i think this is a Manhattan standart (the high prices, small and old rooms, less comfort)
The help and good service of Sergio, a very kind person belonging to staff.
Wi-Fi is too poor.
Location and helpful friendly staff
The price dropped $50.00 the day we arrived for the same room and nights
The room was so clean and comfortable....And quite large by New York standards. And I loved the coffee pot being in the room.
The Lobby was shabby. My first instinct was to groan. I thought the rooms would be equally shabby! But they weren't at all! During my visit, I sat on a computer chair in that lobby, and I almost fell off. The seat was broken. The computers were also old crummy.
Convenient location Free wifi Free coffee and tea in room and in lobby
Noisy bar/street Carpet felt stick; found bits of food on the floor; bathroom smelled mildew-y
Staff is professional, friendly and always helpful. Rooms are clean, comfortable and location is convenient to subways. Excellent value. Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. My go to hotel for NY visits.
Location Beautiful room Cleanliness
We rang reception once quite late due to a problem with our bathroom door, the person we spoke to on the phone was incredibly rude and dismissive of our request for some assistance. I would expect the member of staff to be more understanding considering how late it was in the evening and the problem with the door was through no fault of our own. Despite this the man who eventually came to fix our door was very friendly and helpful!
The staff was nice. There's a cute little eating area and bar out front of the entrance. Food was good.
No refrigerator in the room or ice machine to be found. We were told we were being upgraded to a city view which ended up being a higher up view of the street and the building/wall directly across from us.
The room, very comfy. Fruit water every afternoon.
the street, didn't look very safe.
Bedroom was clean and large
