Help and friendliness of Dave the house manager and the other staff.
Small bathroom. Cold water in sink.
Excellent location, walking distance to nearby eateries, 20 min walk from the famous Cheers bar!
No air con, room was very warm and stuffy, no lift, had to carry suitcases up four flights of stairs, bathroom didn't have flannels. No breakfast.
No elevator - our room was on level 5 and there was no assistance with the luggage. Electrical plugs did not all work and I needed a power source for my CPAP during the night.
The value for staying in the Back Bay is outstanding. The room was wonderful and in a great location.
The coffee room didn't open until 8:00 am.
Location great, staff was nice, rooms were clean
Bathrooms were shared and were not all that clean. Garbage not emptied entire time we stayed.
The house is located near commercial streets. The building and interiors are nice
The house close very early, at 7:00 pm Has no elevator Room is not cleaned every day Breakfast is not included in the price The number of restrooms and showers is too small for so many guests Is expensive compared with other guest house in this area.
Friendly, responsive staff; beautiful old building with original architectural features, convenient location - easy walk to Prudential area.
Very outdated bathroom facilities. Mattress was old, bedding skimpy and dusty.
This is a great place to stay. Keep in mind it is a guest house so if you are expecting a 5 star hotel with a hot tub and plasma tv in every room this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a good clean place with great service at a reasonable price, then head to Beacon Street Guest House!
There really are not any draw backs to the Beacon Street Guest House. All of the rooms are different in size, price, and amenities, so make sure you know what room you are getting.
The place itself and location was nice. The emergency number for help was quickly answered and the gentleman was helpful. You get what you pay for comforts wise, just average.
No parking. Closest recommended place to park was an expensive structure a few blocks down, not a good deal for older populations or during rain like we had to run through with all of our luggage.
The room on the 5th floor didn't have wifi connection and heat. I told staff members 3 times so that they work this out. They said everything was functioning...functionning is one thing, but it was obviously not turned on. The result, 3 nights in a very cold room where I could not work (purpose of my stay). Very bad experience.
I don't like you sending for feedback when I already have and you published it. Get your act together!
Unique room, great central location
Front desk is closed overnight, and doesn't always arrive on time in the am
Affordable in a great area
Walking distance from downtown, just across the Charles River from Cambridge and close to Fenway. Hynes green line T station is close by. Bed was very comfortable. Room was classically furnished and large.
Unfortunately the one night we stayed there was a problem with the hot water boiler which was not resolved until we had gone out for breakfast. There is a coffee machine in a common room but this room is locked from 7pm to 8am so we were not able to access it on the evening we arrived from Logan airport.
Location, could walk into the centre. Got given the wrong room first, but staff moved us to the one we'd booked.
Thin walls. Coffee not available in evening.
The rooms and building were very clean.
The shower stalls were extremely small and there was an incredibly inadequate space provided for the toilet that could easily be resolved by moving the sink over slightly in both my own room and the room my friends shared.
I like the location.
First my room was double booked and I ended up in a room without a bathroom. I stayed for four nights. The bed was never made. They didn't even take out the trash. If the guest is expected to wash the dishes they could at least provide the nessesary implements.
Location was A+
Room was 5 Floors up-no elevator Room was in poor shape/tacky WI-FI didn't work
Location is excellent. Our room, the Bostonian, was extremely roomy.
Cleanliness. We found a dirty pair of underwear under our bed. The bathroom towels were replaced onlybinrbof the three days we were there and the bathroom floor was not washed. Bed was never made.
We liked the architecture and decoration of the house. It was a most pleasant place in which to stay.
Shower not user friendly in our room.
Stylish furnishings. Spacious room (The Bostonian). Wi Fi. Organic coffee! Hot tea!
Coffee making only 08:00 to 19:00. A lot of stairs...
location and peaceful atmosphere.
Kitchen needed perhaps a kettle and cups/plates knives.
The staff were very helpful, although none available after 7pm.
Rooms needed an upgrade. The head of the squeaky bed had books under the legs, shared bath very outdated.
Close by everything
Parking was horrendous
Very cool old building!
I was unaware when I rented this room that it was a communal bathroom and that there was no air conditioning. The bathroom is a tiny bath under the staircase. Also, when sleeping on the 4th floor, it got hot at night, even in October!
