Great downtown location and close to many businesses. Thanks
Overall the room was clean, comfortable and close to the center where you can find restaurants and bars. If you want to go to the pier you will have to walk as the hotel is away from him, but you can easily get walking.
For us it was strange that there is no reception area, the inn check is performed by the access code sent to you via email at the time of booking and the start time (15:00 hrs), and although we had no problem to enter our room, in case you have any problems they just give you a phone number for you to communicate, which is not very comfortable when you're a traveler and especially if you run into problems entering your room late at night. THE WIFI DOESN´T WORK BECAUSE IT IS SHARED WITH A RESTAURANT AND WE COULD NEVER CONNECT. The Hotel should have its own wifi signal.
poor wifi no microwave no ice tv location no information in room as to who to see if you had concerns or questions
I liked the location. It was a block from the sealife center and near plenty of restaurants.
We asked for a quiet room and we were placed at the top of the stairs, room #6. We heard every conversation of ever person who walked by and the traffic on the stairs was so loud. The walls are not even close to insulated so we were woken up numerous times by our neighbors talking or walking around.
1 bed not enough ended up booking a second room at another hotel for friend. Internet did not work unless I went out side. No screen on window so could not leave window open. Had to walk down a alley to get there. This is a total rip off no matter the cost I would expect booking.com to stand behind this and provide a refund but got a email saying they pasted this off to the hotel to deal with. Not very professional.
Stay in this place is relatively cheap for Seward lodging average
Loud music heard at night from nearby night club. There is more rooms in this motel than parking spots.
It offered a roof over my head
1. I asked for a non-smoking room. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. 2. The place was very hard to find. You go to where 215 4th Ave should be (on 4th Ave), which turns out to be a bar, and you have to notice a small notice on the bar door saying that the lodging has to be approached from the back alley. The website said nothing about that. 3. I was given an entry PIN for the room, but not the room number. There was no representative there to ask, so I called the number from the website. No reply. I had to wait and call again, a message kicked me over to the manager's assistant's voice mail, so I called again and eventually was given the room number (and a new PIN). 3. The room was not in good condition. The surface round the sink was patched and cracked, the tub had no plug, most of the baseboard round the room was not painted, there no space to hang clothes, no refrigerator. 4. It seemed like a lot of money for a scuzzy room with no service. 5. Why was the price on the website given in UK pounds? Did the US not gain independence in 1776? It seemed like a deceptive ploy to make the room look cheaper at first sight (was the pound sign an error for the dollar sign??), and makes the visitor feel cheated when the real price pops up.
It is a simple and comfortable place. The premises are renewed and very clean. The location is good, next to Sea Life Center but a little bit far from the port, where the most restaurants and tours of Seward are. If you are driving, it is not a problem, but if you are using train, this maybe an inconvenient.
The place is the backside of the main street and a little odd to find. They have no front desk. So, if something happens, you must call them and wait. Fortunately, I didn't need to do it.
location wasn't bad
bed was terrible and no hot water at all to take a shower in the morning, also charged me for two nights when I could not stay the second night. No one cared so was a very expensive one night in a crummy room with cold shower and a really hot and muggy room. sad !!
Close to the main 4th Avenue. You can walk almost anywhere in Seward from here.
Was uncomfortably hot throughout the weekend. A small fan would have been nice. There isn't a fridge either, so we had to buy a cooler and ice. It's pricy for what you get out of it. The lodge is also right behind a loud bar, so expect to hear thumping music all night long and obnoxious drunk people. At about 5am the bar workers throw all the empty bottles out in the dumpster and it is very loud. Lots of drunk people walk through the ally where the lodge is located, so also expect to be up until around 3am hearing people talk, yell, etc..
Good location, good size . Bathroom, towels,.. OK ! Coffee maker
No table, no chair in the room. No fridge. I understand that the fridge is expensive, but why no chair / small table ?
NOTHING I was so appalled at the place location, in an alley 6 rooms over a pub. Dirty run down outside, wide gap in door, access code for room, no office or staff on premisses. Tiny room, tiny TV up high on the wall to the side of the 1 double bed. 2 small stands with lamps no other furnishings. Bare floors one dirty worn rug by door. I didn't even bring my bags in went some where else. I wasn't about to spend the 7 nights I had booked there.
Look very close at the pictures because it shows how run down and dirty it is. By the way the pictures show the entire location.
This lodging is different from the average hotel/motel. There is no lobby, reception, or door key. You let yourself in when you arrive with an emailed door code. As a solo traveler this was kind of a nice set up, as it was easy and private to come and go without any hassle. Staff were available by phone, and called me when I was on my way to confirm I had all the information I needed. Also the location is EXCELLENT, in that it's downtown and I didn't have to drive the entire time I was there. Seward is a great walking town. The bed and bedding was cozy. Internet was super fast.
The shower was lukewarm. I didn't call to complain, so in fairness the staff didn't have a chance to address this. Also, it was pretty pricey for a simple room, but I assume it's less during the off season. It would have been nice to have some little creamers and sugar for the in room coffee.
Poor location and parking. It was in an alley.
Because this hotel is located in the middle of downtown, we were able to walk to everywhere which was excellent since many locations in Seward are "pay-to-park." The room was clean and cozy; the Wi-Fi fast and accessible. Unbeatable value in Seward!
While it was obvious the room/hotel was in a renovations period, that didn't infringe upon our enjoyment of the space. A bare bulb here, a missing outlet cover there was no big deal.
