I loved the character of the room.
Staff were always friendly
When we arrived we found out that we had a windowless room - very disappointed in this. Not only that we didn't have a view, this is a life-safety issue.
I liked the location. It was close enough to the attractions to enjoy but far enough away to relax. The room was clean. Staff was nice.
There were no microwaves or refrigerators access able to customers. The portions in the restaurants in the area serve huge portions. We had to throw food away.
The location of this says it all! We felt it was a perfect distance away from Bourbon Street (for a quiet night sleep), yet close to everything!
being in the Quarter
nothing special maybe a bit tired
The room size was very nice. Front desk clerks were friendly. Bellman was terrific.
Cleaning staff did not leave cups, coffee, soap etc
Lovely setting with rambling courtyards and buildings.
Outstanding service...we even asked to change rooms and they didn't blink an eye. our room was romantic and beautiful...the location was excellent! I wouldn't change a thing about our stay.
We were late to book for Mardi Gras. This location was pricey but not for peak season. It was much more attractive than the pictures. Very Safe. Great Location on Decater close to everything in the French Quarter.
Bed wad hard, but that may be our experience (we use memory foam at home). Maid service was quick to pass your room, but we were late risers durring Mardi Gras and they left us fresh towels and toiletries outside our room. We had to walk a ways to get to our hotel. It was inaccessible when we arrived. Time your arrival for a non-parade time if during the season.
This is a wonderful place to stay if you want a quiet place in the middle of the French quarter. Their courtyard is a great refuge from the boozy craziness, but provides very good access to all the restaurants and bars
its a complex and sometimes confusing collection of buildings joined together
French Quarter---Love this area. Architecture beautiful. Love the people.
No coffee or tea in lobby or courtyard. Staff was usually courteous but not helpful. Room was cramped for the value. Lots of street noise, sirens, etc.
This is a well run, clean, old, boutique hotel is a great location in the French Quarter. The staff is really friendly and provides good service.
Some aspects of the building are in poor repair, beyond character and should be improved.
Sounds of the city. We lived in the Quarter for 4 years and have been VERY SAD since we had to leave due to the sale of our building. Some day we will be back again, but until then, we will keep visiting the French Market Inn.
Only one disappointing encounter with one of the bellman on our day of departure. I, as the wife, had to ask him to open my car door, because my hands were full. All of the others were very courteous.
2 days in a row the house maid did not empty or clean the coffeepot and supply fresh coffee Was charged $400 for a night - certainly not worth that
elevator was noisy
Clean room, friendly staff, very comfortable beds, nice bathroom, walking distance from everything. My sister and I enjoyed our stay. We didn't want to leave.
The 4 men above us we're noisey. But we were in a party city.
Gave me room that backed up to noisy elevator When asked was relocated to quieter room
Good location, historic property, friendly staff.
Bathroom was very dirty, I think they didn't vacuum the rooms, everywhere hair, in the tub, in the sink, floor was very dirty, don't ask behind the bathroom door, seems like they didn't clean for a long time. AC are not working properly, we like warm room but AC blows 5minutes warm, 15minutes cold, we have problem with AC all stay long, actually we got cold after this hotel, definetely they need replace the room AC's.
Small enough and charming - great staff!
The beautiful grounds. The rooms are comfortable
Awesome Shower.. But,no where for a girl to prop her legs to shave. Just a simple stool
This hotel was really nice. Has charm and was a perfect location, right in the French Quarter next to the river. Walking distance to several shops, restaurants, Harrah's Casino, the Riverwalk, and Cafe du Monde. We got a great price for Mardi Gras. The hotel staff was really friendly and helpful. Id love to stay here again.
If you are a light sleeper or are easily bothered by hallway noise, this might not be the best place. We were right next to the elevator but since the hotel was really crowded, it didnt bother us to hear it going up and down.
Location was the best.
Confusing building layout. Got a parking ticket while loading our vehicle in front of the hotel.
the valet parking took 45 minutes to bring us our car.
I hadn't previously stayed in a boutique hotel..and to stay in one like this in New Orleans was fabulous. Walk out of the hotel and be on Decatur street; view the river from your window. I am picky with hotel selection and would stay here again.
