The room was beautiful but I was unsure since it's overlooked the street and the river boat area that it would be noisy. It was not. The windows had a plexiglass cover that kept almost all noise out. The staff was very helpful.
I never like having to valet park but it's a huge city and staying downtown makes it necessary. The hotel has a great plan for dealing with it and we were pleased.
Room was very clean and comfortable. The grounds were adorable. Renovations were great.
I was charged twice for the hotel room and am now trying to get the money back :( Because somebody did not reverse a charge when they said they did.
I have been to New Orleans countless times. I have always been curious about this hotel but had never stayed there before. Because of the location of the meeting that I had to attend, I decided to give it a shot. I could not have been more pleased!! It was great! I will be back again and again!
very cozy and friendly
the aircondition couldnt regulate it
Well located, very helpful staff, good beds.
Room was a little on the small side and a small fridge would have been useful.
My wife and I wanted to spend 2 nights in New Orleans, After reading a lot of reports on the internet, we choose this hotel. From outside, this looked like a terrible choice, however once registered at the reception (friendly staff), one gets into a sort of patio which is magic. The room we got is itself very small, no windows, however very tastefully decorated. Toilet small, however functional. One comes to New Orleans to visit the place and not stay in a hotel room. In the morning, one could make coffee in the room. The location could not be better. Right in front of the hotel, there is a public open space parking - ideal if one is traveling by car.
No breakfast served, however many restaurants nearby serving cooked b/f. Being in the "tourist" area, one should expect "tourist" prices !
Flamboyant manager was a real piece or work, refused to help with problems with the room saying our booking was cheap enough we didn't deserve any better! Terrible device, never again.
The property was in a nice location, the staff accommodating, and the decor updated. The courtyard was beautiful, unfortunately the weather too cold to really enjoy the outside property.
The walls were very thin and you could hear conversations neighboring rooms easily.
The location was perfect for showing a first time visitor to NOLA around. We loves the quaint rooms with nice high ceilings. The staff was friendly and helpful!
It would have been nice if they'd have coffee and water with fruit in the lobby.
Perfect location, great character, awesome accomodatios... Do I have to say much else
Beautiful rooms. Nicely decorated and well-kept common areas. Very comfortable bed and extremely convenient location.
It took the valet 25 minutes to retrieve our car. We were late for our reservation as a result.
The location was awesome. Staff was excellent. Amenities were available ice drink machines pool in courtyard.
What I thought was bed bugs turned out to be a dirty mattress that had to be cleaned. Had to ask for room service first day and after that they continued to clean room daily. Friends stayed two blocks away and paid half what we did for comparison room and they had a balcony as we had interior room
I did not like the fact that the thermostat was locked and we couldn't adjust the temp. The room temp was extremely uncomfortable and I had no windows in my room.
This is a homey place to spend a few days in NOLA, centrally located in the French Quarter, walkable to everything. Very comfy king bed, clean. None of the amenities of a large place or chain (pool, bar, food) but everything you need is within steps.
I had no idea how much cheaper the hotel would have been had I called them direct. These booking companies take a huge premium--in our case a third to half more. Even the hotel folks told us-- next time call us and don't go through them! I will take their advice.
So surprised that a place this great was so reasonable. Great location, staff and rooms. We loved it and will definitely be back!
Everything was great. No problems or complaints at all.
There are not enough superlatives to describe the French Market Inn. The desk and bell staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The inn is centrally located in the French Quarter within easy walking distance of Bourbon Street (one big dive), Frenchman Street (with the great food and live music that made the French Quarter famous), and the amazing World War II Museum. Public transportation (buses and trolleys) made it unnecessary to use our car to visit the many local sites. When we did need the car, the valet service was prompt and efficient. The quaint inn features a large, private courtyard with tables and a small swimming pool. Our third-floor room was large and very comfortably furnished. It looked out over Decatur Street and the park along the Mississippi River. Despite what could have been a noisy location, the room was very quiet except for a single train that passed by during the early evening hours each day. The room included a digitally controlled heat pump for perfect temperature control. The beds were very comfortable.
This hotel is as close to perfect as you can get. There wasn't anything about it that I didn't love.
We were very pleased with this hotel. It combines the old world charm I always hope for and rarely get, with style, comfort and cleanliness. The staff was marvelous warm and helpful at all times. What a jewel! From the street you would barely even know it was there, but it just got bigger and more interesting as you went in. The courtyard was delightful. I would love to come back when the magnolia trees are in blossom. Our room was large and comfortable, with exposed brick on one wall. The bathroom was well laid out and the shower had plenty of room.
Be aware there is no restaurant attached to the hotel, so room service is not an option. The location is amazing and you don't have to go far for food, drinks or snacks.
Location and staff.
Price, small room, noise from the elevator next to room, noise from corridor and other rooms, plastic cups, lack of atmosphere.
Everything about the room was great. The bell hops were prompt and courteous, I wanted to stay in the French Quarter and our location superb for us to leave the car and simply walk and enjoy the area.
In the check in it took way too long as the clerk was constantly on the phone. I'm not an impatient man, but I felt it was an annoyance to simply wait for her to finish the call without putting someone on hold for a moment or two.
Charming hotel, excellent decor... Friendly staff, loved the location.
Occasionally could hear other guests in their rooms
Needed more bedding. A little chilly at night.
Perfect location for walking and transit Staff incredibly amazing
I asked for no service one day and they still serviced the room and didn't replace the soap and shampoo when they did
location is very good
rooms are small and walls are paper thin guy next door never turned his tv off (not hotels fault inconsiderate people)
Very cozy, french stylish hotel. Loved the pool area and the good service. Very clean and nice.
Small rooms, paid too much for the small rooms. Very noisy between the rooms (woke up early every morning of people walking on the floor at the room above us). Complained, but they couldn't offer us a room on the top floor.
