Nice historic hotel in the French Market area. Central local but quite. Friendly staff.
I had mistakenly booked an interior room, which meant no windows. Given the nice architecture, high ceilings, quality furniture and bath, it was still a pleasant stay. But I would probably not have booked for this room rate, if I had realized in advance that it is an interior room. The light in the room was a bit too dim for my taste.
Staff was extra nice and friendly! hotel has a refreshing courtyard with pool also.
courtyard uniqueness of design friendliness
Everything was really lovely from the moment we walked through the doors. Staff was courteous and helpful, rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The only issue during our stay was when a guest next door to us left their TV on ALL NIGHT at what seemed like level 50!! Fell asleep around 1:00 am thinking it would stop, woke up at 6:30 to the sound of blaring news coverage. Was the only negative experience. Issue was promptly solved once we spoke to front desk.
Had to wait more than 1 hour to check in. The receptionist was nice but was just going as slow as possible. Few guests before me also started to get impatient as 1 check-in took her about 30 minutes to be completed. What does she possibly have to type in her computer for about 30 minutes to check a guest in? The service in this hotel is absolutely not acceptable for the range of rates applied. Will not return again.
No comfortable chair to sit on. No mini-fridge in room.
The courtyard with its small pool at the center was lovely.
We had to walk up a long flight of steps to get to our room on the third floor. I'm able to do that and can always use the exercise, but there was never any warning or information about this when I booked it or even checked in. That seemed odd to me. We used their parking service, which is a valet who has to run around the corner to get your car out of a garage, which is slow. I guess there is no coffee station in the lobby because Cafe De Monde is just a block away?
easy walk to all we were interested in
bed too high. room lighting too dim.
It was close to every where down town and nice hotel
The air conditioner was blowing cool air at night
This hotel was charming with the lovely courtyard and our spacious room that overlooked the courtyard. It was also very quiet. The location was excellent - close to everything! Beds were comfortable but the pillows were too high (maybe provide a choice of pillows?) This will be my hotel of choice next time I visit.
The carpet was dirty but we were too tired to care. The pillows were not comfortable. I wish there was some sort of food/beverage service inside the hotel. But wasn't a big deal as we carried wine that we had in the courtyard and Cafe Du Monde and plenty restaurants were right outside.
Very nicely kept old building. Room was big for 2 adults + 2 kids.
Elevator wasn't working when the day we were leaving, needed to go down the stairs with all the lugagge, no help provided by the hotel.
Patrick is the best courtyard cat ever! Staff was very friendly and attentive.
Guest were loud in halls late night ealry morning. Walls seem to carry sound. Maid service was loud mid morning.
Great location, great staff, great value
wish I would have had a window
This hotel is wonderful for the value. We wanted a quaint boutique hotel to celebrate our anniversary. We loved the authentic feel of the place. Our room was a nice size. It was so easy to walk all over the French quarter. We will definitely stay here again.
My husband & I have been staying at this inn for several years now. Even through renovations once. The staff is friendly, accommodations are great, love the charm and that they didn't take away from it when it was renovated. Location is the best. The cost is great and we will continue to return every time we need a romantic getaway.
This place is everything we wanted it to be! Great price, super cute, awesome location, and amazing staff. This is where we'll be staying from now on!
Parking is a litte tough, because it's on a busy downtown street, but you can park in the lot across the hotel for 24 hours for $20.
The room was beautiful but I was unsure since it's overlooked the street and the river boat area that it would be noisy. It was not. The windows had a plexiglass cover that kept almost all noise out. The staff was very helpful.
I never like having to valet park but it's a huge city and staying downtown makes it necessary. The hotel has a great plan for dealing with it and we were pleased.
Room was very clean and comfortable. The grounds were adorable. Renovations were great.
I was charged twice for the hotel room and am now trying to get the money back :( Because somebody did not reverse a charge when they said they did.
I have been to New Orleans countless times. I have always been curious about this hotel but had never stayed there before. Because of the location of the meeting that I had to attend, I decided to give it a shot. I could not have been more pleased!! It was great! I will be back again and again!
very cozy and friendly
the aircondition couldnt regulate it
Well located, very helpful staff, good beds.
Room was a little on the small side and a small fridge would have been useful.
My wife and I wanted to spend 2 nights in New Orleans, After reading a lot of reports on the internet, we choose this hotel. From outside, this looked like a terrible choice, however once registered at the reception (friendly staff), one gets into a sort of patio which is magic. The room we got is itself very small, no windows, however very tastefully decorated. Toilet small, however functional. One comes to New Orleans to visit the place and not stay in a hotel room. In the morning, one could make coffee in the room. The location could not be better. Right in front of the hotel, there is a public open space parking - ideal if one is traveling by car.
No breakfast served, however many restaurants nearby serving cooked b/f. Being in the "tourist" area, one should expect "tourist" prices !
Flamboyant manager was a real piece or work, refused to help with problems with the room saying our booking was cheap enough we didn't deserve any better! Terrible device, never again.
The property was in a nice location, the staff accommodating, and the decor updated. The courtyard was beautiful, unfortunately the weather too cold to really enjoy the outside property.
The walls were very thin and you could hear conversations neighboring rooms easily.
