Room on first floor was quite nice. Great location!
Room on upper floor was awful, but they were in remodeling phase. Both rooms reeked of cigarette smoke. Need mirrors in the bedrooms because bathroom had the only mirror and no one could get ready when someone else was in bathroom.
parking was very convenient hotel amenities were nice hotel staff was very nice the comfortability was wonderful the children loved it and the location was the best part
I have nothing negative to say about this place
We could not have been more pleased with our experience at the Frenchman 519. I highly recommend it. The staff and facilities are top notch. If you are seeking peace and quiet, this location may not be for you, but if want a backdrop to the rich cultural adventure that only NOLA can offer, stay here. Frenchman Street is where the good times roll. If you are thinking about renting a car during Mardi Gras, think again. The city is 100% walkable and cars just get in the way. There are bike taxis and foot massage stops around every corner, so walk around! Buy art and tip the musicians.
Our only teeny tiny comment is that our room was not stocked with coffee daily, but with Cafe Dumonde up the street, that was really not a big deal.
Came out here for my 40th birthday and will never stay anywhere else. Party Cemtral to say the least. Exactly what we were looking for and right and the mix. The staff rocks as well! No hassles and no bothers. Only their of you needed them. I love this place and made some great Memories here. I will definily stay again.
We fell in love with the hotel and location, what an amazing place to stay. We extended our stay twice because we had such a good time.
Lighting in the kitchen and living area was poor and made cooking a bit hard
All was well. I'll return in the spring. Thank you. Lynne Listeman
staff was attentive
so that there is furniture bathroom could have been cleaner
thought Frenchmen street is much better than Bourban street, this is a more laid back area with wonderful relaxed bars with live bands each night.
our apartment was towards the back, nice clean, grout in tub had a few marks, needed sharper knives in kitchen overall great
Location was great. Staff was super. Being able to walk out front door and all the action was right there was awesome.
Love it! Perfect location close to everything in the French Quarter
Poor Wifi- cmon guys! and if you want peace and quiet request a room at the back-peace and quiet is not what you come to Frenchmen St for!
Cost & Location
Location If you are on Frenchmen Street for the music this is the place for you. Location is just wonderful. If you stay here, 13 Monahan (right next door) is a must!
Cons: The 519 is in the midst of upgrades. If you are booking a 2 bedroom ask for room 105, It is beautiful (the one in all the ads), 3 flat screen tvs with wifi that works. Upgraded kitchen, marble floors, double sink bathroom, sofa and a loveseat. This is the room! Cons: As I booked a 2 bedroom before my friends I was put in room 307, old & run down, old parquet floors, small box tv's only 2, slow if any wifi. So for the same rate be aware! Also, room 307 is on the street and very loud. Inquire about your room before you book. When I asked for another room they said they were booked. No Discount was offered, no free night, and we were there for 4 nights. Very upset over the way it was handled.
Close to French Quarter. We felt safe in the gated courtyard
If you want to see the French Quarter, and are travelling in a group too big for a single hotel room, this is the place. At the corner of Frenchmen and Esplanade, it's perfect. The music at night from up the street can be a bit loud, but you're in New Orleans! The front desk staff were knowledgeable and friendly. It was the perfect place for us.
The Free WiFi needs more access points. Most of the time I couldn't connect - the signal strength was too low, even with a booster. One of the cleaning staff tried to enter while we were there without knocking.
Location was amazing
There was nothing bad about this stay
The location is prime if you want to be in the heart of the music of New Orleans. You can't ask for more or better music venues on Frenchmen Street. The hotel was well situated on the street and offered a good value for the money.
The party on Frenchmen doesn't stop until nearly 3am so don't stay in one of the rooms that faces the street unless you want to stay up all night. The rooms are very average - definitely showing age. The kitchen supplies are in need of replacement. Beds are so - so. The staff was good for the most part except for the first day at check-in. The guy on duty could care less about his job or the guests. Very non-welcoming....
Some of the young street people were verbally abusement ,and aggressive when you did not give them money. We did not want to be out very late in the evening. There was no police presence that we saw in the French Quarter.
Right in the middle of jazz, bars, food. Very close to French Quarter. Hot tub was really nice.
Beds were awful!!! Building needs a little repair.
The staff was very helpful in dealing with a parking issue and refunded payment immediately.
The sleeper sofa from hell.
the warm floors and the jacuzee I will be back!
Small and clean hotel in very good location. A lot of restaurants and jazz-clubs nearby. Very good for a stay in New Orleans.
The sofa-bed was very bad. If You only travel by 2, it's okay, but with 3 or 4 Persons it's bad, the condition of the sofa-bed can't be accepted.
The hotel is right on Frenchman St which is where you want to be if you want a more local experience, it's also right near the French markets and care du monde. It's cheap and has enough kitchen facilities to get by, also has a decent hot tub and pool out the back and the staff were fabulous.
There are music bars right across the road so i recommend ear plugs.
I went to NOLA for the music on Frenchmen street so this was perfect. Excellent standard of room. It would be noisy if the music wasn't the reason for staying there.
Room and location were excellent. Busy street but quiet in room.
Nothing. It was a perfect trip. Would stay again.
