How close it was to the subway and the university apartments. The facilities was not as advertised. They claim to have problems and due to the high traffic in the hotel it was not possible to "fix" the common areas (big BS). |

Perfect location only 100 meters from 96th Street Metro station and very close to central park. I stayed in a one bedroom which was rather average but great value for money. Double bed, wardrobe, sink, TV and a window in a prime locaton for little money. Cant complain and would recommend if you just want a cheap place to stay with a bed. The room smelled a little funny and the carpet was filthy. The shared shower was damaged and didnt work at one one of the days but when i spoke to reception they fixed the problem straight away. |

Clean rooms, fresh towels for free every day and they made our beds. Really friendly and helpful staff. We had a TV. There was few furniture in the rooms but we didn't spend much time in there anyway so we didn't mind. They had computers but the access was not free.The matresses were really ols and not comfortable. Luggage storage cost $5, every time you open the locker you have to insert another $5. |

Proximity of the Central Park and Amsterdam Street I was promised room with two twin beds but got one with very squeaky bunk bed. |

A lot of things... Room was small and not good at all ... shared bathroom which was ok... Wifi internet in the lobby was not working when I needed it the most...seems very old... Off the city center... |

The hostel has two parts - hotel and hostel. We stayed in the hostel part in a dormitory. The room was OK, but there were no usual facilities. The kitchen had a small refridgerator, microwave oven, and a sink. No dishes, no cooker, no cutlery. |

Warm, clean room. Quiet. Close to subway & cafes, shops. Walking distance to central park. Good value for Manhattan Not especially friendly or helpful staff. No common areas or dining area. |

the restrooms were not that bad, but the room ... the room was not that dirty, but the linen hadn't been changed so the first night we had to buy sleeping-bags because the bed was really disgusting. |

the location i was shown three rooms,the first room was a extremly sall room wth a bed,nothing else. The head board was badly stained. It had dirty walls in need of a paint job. the 2nd room was not much better. The 3rd room I had to insist upon was an improvement.It had a TV that did not work, and a smoke alarm that beeped all the time. But the staff included a room with a small bathroom and did not up the price. I keep insisting that they give me a room that I saw on the website. This room looked like the website picture. |

The hostel staff was helpful and courteous. The room was spartan, but comfortable. The shared bathroom was kept clean. The price was right and the location was good. The free WiFi signal was not strong enough to work in my room so I, and everyone else, had to sit in the lobby area to use our computers. The hostel did not provide tables or work areas so people had to sit on the floor often blocking the entryway. There were no tables or chairs in either the rooms or in the kitchens and only one kitchen, to my knowledge, had a refrigerator. |
