Unfriendly Staff Early Morning Repairs next to our door Sub-par free breakfast
The location is just great. It looks close to Tenderloin, which is a sketchy area but the whole block is completely safe and very close to many great things including transportation. Rooms are small but comfy and efficient and very clean.
Noise isolation is not very good but I think this is typical in SF. Just don't expect complete silence and you should be good.
Accommodating and flexible staff. Great location
The location was prefect for getting around. Very near to the tram line. Good value for the standard of hotel. Breakfast nothing special but that was expected for the price. Would stay here again.
Location Front desk attitude Comfort Cleanliness Value
The online special on booking.com was a great deal. Hotel had no extra special frills but the room was clean, bathrooms were basic and newish. It had a refrigerator, microwave and desk and a street view. This price point was just above having to share a bathroom (at other locations in the area) so I was amazed with the price. Location was great!
Only one employee
Small lobby, not enough seats in the lobby area for waiting, elevator, breakfast area and room.
LOCATION NEAR TO EVERYTHING
I like the location and the breakfast was not bad considering it's a continental breakfast. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful.
I did not like the size of the room as it was very small and there was not any on-site parking however for a nominal fee of $40.00 a night they would have a valet park it. Check in was difficult only because there was only one parking space in front of the building on a busy street.
everything. Definitely coming back...
The location is superb, right next to Union Square. Shopping, restaurants, bars, cinemas, cafes, you name it. A lot of Muni lines close by. Major car rental pickup/drop-off two blocks away at O'Farrell. Checked-in 3 hours early and room was already prepared. Internet accessible either via WiFi or ethernet socket. Very low latency connection. Refrigerator in the room.
Lightning in the room is poor - very dim. Taking the elevator from the ground floor requires the key card, which isn't a big problem in itself, but it's really hard to realise this. First few days I gave up and used the stairs. There is a weird smell in the corridors. I think it's from the cleaning supplies they use, but it requires some getting used to. The desk in my room wasn't very clean, there were a lot of cup stains, which gave a bad vibe to an otherwise clean room. Breakfast is poor. Closes at 9am sharp, long lines and to-go only (in your room). Selection is not great either. It's better to make your own breakfast (refrigerator in room helps) or go to one of the cafes close by. All in all, I still think it was worth living with these negative points, for the location/affordability.
Everything was awesome, especially the location. The free WiFi was fast!
There was no baggage storage for the guest who check-out. I was suggested to go to airport and left my baggages there. The staff told me that the storage service was for the check-in guest only. The staff here was so nice but the hotel policy should be reconsidered.
The club is nearby which didn't bother. Hotel clerk Chad was extremely helpful and nice. So was the maintenance people.
Safe broke but really, who cares.
Location is convenient. Easily accessible to almost anywhere by public transportation.
Location is the only good thing about this hotel
Price Comfort Front Desk Staff were rude when we were checking in! Room is tiny Bed not comfortable
Clean rooms Location was excellent Great value
alittle small but nothing surprising considering its SF.
The location of the hotel is very good. About 35 mins by BART from SFO airport. Very easy to locate from Powell Station. Only 5 mins to Union Square, adequate eateries around the hotel.
The room looks a bit old. Had a little bit of musky feel/smell.
That's enough for take a couple hours for lunch time's just need something Paquette of Turley or ham or something else... It's good
New bathroom Comfortable bed
Odour in hallways
They didn't tell me there was a problem with the Queen bed room I booked and just threw me into a room w 2 twin beds that was 14x20. They proceeded to charge me the same rate for a room i didn't want. The bed was short, hard and uncomfortable. The clerks were rude. I'm not sure if it was cause I'm black, I hope not, but Never again!! Horrid experience.
Excellent central location and friendly reception staff. Free, generous basic breakfast (room full of bagels and pastries and a coffee machine).
Highly over-priced for what it was. It was a busy time in the city, so accommodation was at a premium...but still. Room had an over-powering smell, some kind of cleaning product, had to leave the window open the whole stay. Be warned that the card you book with online will be erased when they swipe a credit card for 'incidentals' when checking in and a temporary 'hold' is placed for the entire cost of the booking on the new card swiped. Can be problematic if, for example, your company booked the accommodation for you and were assuming the payment would come off that company card.
Location,staff friendly,parking choices
Size of room was very small. The hotel Was located on a busy street and beside a night club , impossible to sleep . Very expensive for a very dated hotel
