The owner was extremely rude at check-in. The room was very, very small (I have no idea where those pics came from on the listing, because nothing I saw looked remotely that nice). The room smelled of stale smoke, the refrigerator had stains and the microwave sounded like it was going to blow up. I had internet for a short time, but then it went out. When I called to complain, he told me it was my fault if I didn't know how to connect to the internet. Interestingly enough, I then heard noises coming from either the roof or a storage room above me and lo and behold, the internet was "fixed" (it was rather slow). I know I booked a 2 star hotel. But I've done so before after looking at the reviews. I don't know how this hotel received 7.2 stars. It was terrible. If you have the extra $10 or $15 per night, stay elsewhere. (and the people in Philomath were not very friendly either. I took my dog for a walk around the block and all I got was stares from the neighbors - not an overall good feeling). I should have realized when I was the ONLY person who stayed there the first night - except for one man who clearly was paying for long term.
The only positive I can come up with is that the water pressure in the shower was great. Although after 3 vans of people checked in the second night, there was no hot water left. And because there was no coffee service in the room, it was great there was a little coffee shop about a 2 min walk away.
