The location was good but the high level of street and hotel fan noise was an issue. We moved from the 3rd floor to the 5th floor but this did not make the situation much better and I had to sleep with ear plugs in. Reception and lobby staff were good but Housekeeping was obtrusive and kept knocking on the door (or loudly knocking on neighbouring doors and shouting "Housekeeping") and entering the room when we were in the room even when the room had been cleaned. A Do Not Disturb sign or a sign asking for turn down etc services would have been useful.
Perfect location for travellers: West Village, Soho and Chelsea are in walking distance and the nearby metro stops make it fairly easy to go up town in about 10-15 minutes.
Staff at the reception and also the door men are rude and unwilling to assist. The window was broken and the air condition/heating was producing a lot of draft and cold air though it was set on heating mode. And while even in 3* Hotels you can borrow umbrellas free of charge when it starts raining, at the luxury Gansvoort guests must buy the logo branded ones. WiFi was provided free of Charge but obviously outdated and not of sufficient quality to check emails! Ah, did I mention that I had to BUY an adapter for my charger because I forgot to bring my own...?
Great rooms, excellent bed, nice view. Extremely confortable.
Restaurant and bar service very slow. No drawers for storing your clothes and more light needed in the room and bathroom at night.
Great location. Room was comfortable and quite spacious. Staff friendly and helpful.
Other guests were noisy, especially those returning to their rooms in the early hours. The Pinot Noir in the hotel bar was very disappointing.
Overall, we had a lovely time. I was just a bit put off by the fact that we payed a high price for staying here, but every single thing in the hotel room had a price tag attached to it. We felt like it was too much in-room marketing and didn't like feeling like we couldn't actually use the nespresso capsules laid out, as they were $3 each! Hotel staff was a bit cold as well, despite being helpful.
Great location. Nice rooms - very modern.
Bouncers / door men outside and at the elevators were unfriendly and unwelcoming. You don't like to be treated as an intruder going back to your room in the evenings - just because you are not dressed up for going to the night club in the penthouse in the hotel.
Profesional and friendly staff, beautiful interior, nice rooms, great swimmingpool area and rooftop bar.
Breakfast (their "continental breakfast" has nothing to do with continental breakfast, more like a ton of cakes). Your even had to pay for the coffee on the room. Only go to this hotel if you want to party.
Room good but small - value poor lacks generous spirit - exudes money grasping in detail
Meaness - see comments above
Excellent hotel in a great location for Greenwich and West Village which is 2 minutes away. Staff were very helpful and made you feel very welcome. Rooms are spacious, quiet and well designed. Meatpacking district is very young and lively at night, with lots of bars and restaurants just a few steps away.
The only thing that makes it worthwhile is the fact that it is in the meatpacking area. Rooms are fine. At night the noise level from the music and traffic is very loud.
Most of the staff are not at all cordial. Not polite and borderline rude. especially the Room service staff, they were appalling.
Front desk would not honor reservation. Wanted me to spend a minimum of $200 dollars more for an upgraded room. Said didn't have room. But Booking.com person called and got a room--the same type of room. Imagine that.
all six of us enjoyed our stay, thanks
nice staff clean room good location for walking
nightclub on roof deck makes it impossible to get a good nights sleep suites were small
location if you like the district south of manhattan
tasteless and darkish lobby badly furnished.rediculous breakfast arrangement. price too high
Location, amenities, hotel
Great views from room & rooftop bar Excellent location - good restaurants nearby Helpful staff
Rooftop bar very loud and lively Street noise quite noticeable at night (not a problem for us)
Loved the hotel, the room was beautiful. Large room with sitting area, amazing view of the Hudson River, great bathroom and comfy bed. The staff was so nice and helpful.
Loud music from club upstairs went pretty late! But that's to be expected at this chic hotel in a rockin area!
I appreciated it very much when I requested extra toiletries, since there was a few of us in the suite, and Housekeeping promptly brought a bag of bathroom supplies to our room.!
I did NOT like the female bartender working the night of our stay. .. In the lobby. She was rude, slow and utterly unprofessional.
Location was excellent. I loved the art in the lobby and would definitely recommend the hotel to friends.
Location Nice room Free WiFi Beautiful hotel
Noice from other guests in the middle of the night. Airco and fan are making a lot of noise as well. We switched of ours but still we could here the ones from the next door rooms?!
The doormen always there to open the door with our hands full of shopping bags. They were also very friendly and handsome!
We were attending a class at the Bumble university across the street. Maybe partner up with them to offer a student deal. Everyone was very surprised that we stayed there given the price point but to us it was worth it because of the proximity.
I've only stayed for 2 nights and was impressed. everything was very clean, the bed was awesome and the services were great.
The shower curtain and the cheap toilet paper. The roof top bar staff were average, especially the waitresses, just like last time I was there.
I did a staycation. I live down the block lol. But I love the intimacy of the hotel I always have.
