Room Decor, comfort of bed, active bar and scene!

The Problems were hard to believe; the light in the hall was out my entire stay, the air-conditioning didn't work, until the third night, I had asked that the duvet cover be replaced with a blanket, they just removed it, I asked for a small re-fridge, they said they didn't have one, I asked if I could use the minibar first they said there would be a $25 charge to empty it, then said it didn't refrigerate! I wrote to the concierge and copied the manager, and only got a response from the concierge, no satisfaction (happy to copy you with the emails) I'm still aggregated by the lack of response or offer to make it up to me, I've often stayed at their sister hotel in Miami, was always treated well! I await your response, I intend to contest my bill!

The room was the most spacious and beautiful for the price that I have ever had in nyc. The service was very slow and somewhat diffident on a couple of occasions but to their credit, when the missteps were pointed out hotel staff immediately corrected and apologized. And even tho celebrities were in the hotel, front desk and bell staff treated us like celebrities. Also the Exhale spa fit me in for a manicure/pedicure at 7:15 pm and were terrific and very reasonably priced for a trendy hotel on Park Ave. The cost was about $80. Not substantially more than I would have paid in Oklahoma. Everything in the room was immaculate and comfortable. Room had a balcony and a huge sitting area. Huge bathtub, double sink and shower. This is my new Manhattan favorite. Much more room than the Mave or the Roger William or the Iroquois and newer than the Waldorf. The extra money for the king room with a balcony was totally worth it. I have paid more at the Doubletree which was a nightmare and should be shutdown it is so horrible. Why stay at a place like that when the Gansevoort is an option?! I will definitely be back if similar deals are available.

The only thing I didn't like was glacially slow room service for ice and coffee and no paper until we asked twice. But like I said, apologies and swift corrections were forthcoming when it was pointed out and the coffee was comped, as it should have been. (Don't particularly love the magenta sort of soft core porn/fashion photography as art in the room but I know it is trendy. With all the pluses, too minor to make a difference.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem. The rooms were kept immaculate and cleaned daily to a very high standard.

The roof top club was very crowded and the drinks were extremley expensive - no discount was given for being a hotel guest. The bar staff were not friendly like the rest of the hotel staff.

The room faced a quiet courtyard which is very unusual in Mid Town Manhattan and the bed was very comfortable. The room was a decent size for a Manhattan hotel. The rooftop bar/pool is a very nice and relaxing area to hang out although the poolside area itself is small and filled up very quickly.

I was disappointed by the ensuite bathroom. I expected a state of the art shower in a high end hotel like this. However the shower was a narrow area separated from the rest of the bathroom only by an ordinary three quarter lenght shower curtain - there is no other barrier between this area and the rest of the room. Consequently no matter how carefully I tried to shower the odd arrangment meant that the bathroom was half flooded every time I took a shower. The showerhead was of the standard handheld variety.

I loved the casual, friendly and efficient service of the front of house staff. I felt very at welcome. The restaurant attached to the hotel is upmarket with great food and service. The bed was so comfortable..it was sleeping on a cloud after a busy day sightseeing. The bath is the deepest I have ever used. The room was always cleaned to highest standard and the housemaid staff were also very friendly and efficient.

The rooftop bar is open to the public and gets quite crowded and it is a bit of a job to get through the crowd to the pool area. We didn't use this facility as often as we had intended because of this.

The rooms were very clean,comfortable, and quiet. The flat screen TV's and IPOD docks were great. The rooms with balconies were beautiful.

Some of the hotel staff had an elitist attitude

I did not like anything.

1.They wanted me to pay again even though I had already paid through booking.com, they held me up at check in for 1 hour over this. 2. Blind was broken, window didnt close, we froze in the room. 3. Concierge desk was horrible, i called them more than 10 times for info a person by the name of Alex said she would get back to me in 10 minutes, an hour later I called again, she said another 10 minutes, another hr I called back, then no one answered from 4 pm to 10 pm. We missed out reservations since we could not locate the restaurant. The Wifi was not working. Our new years eve plans were ruined. 4. Kept saying they are going to bring ice and fresh towels to the room... they never did. 5. They double charged for drinks at the restaurant in the lobby. 6. Staff has attitude, the room was horrible and freezing (they kept saying they are going to send someone to fix it)... they finally sent someone (Ronny) and when he couldnt fix it, they expected us to freeze and did not even change our room. It was freezing. and the blind did not close so we woke up at the break of dawn!!!

It was very busy the weekend we stayed which was difficult to sleep since there were people in the hall and room next to us making a lot of noise.

The first week was great! Nice room ... Than I got a call half way through my stay as I was out shopping saying I needed to switch rooms...

I was supposevto stay 14 days they switched my room after 7 days to a small room, with broken toilet seat, room smelled like cat pee and hair in bath tub! I only stayed one more night and checked out go Trump Soho Ms. Brown

The hotel had exceptional customer service. They upgraded us to a deluxe king room and brought a complimentary bottle of champagne to our room for my fiances birthday.
